    Wow, 8 Watt TX on 10 meter HF band, for this price an absolute bargain. Full spectrum waterfall and lots of filters (Digital) to optimize audio. What else could be needed. Great video.

    I upgraded mine into an IQ32 when the upgrade kit came out. I have s/n 002 of the upgrade kit, and I backed the RS-HFIQ on Kickstarter back in 2016.

    The RS-HFIQ gets even better if you combine it with the Pi-SDR IQ Plus, glad it gets its own video, can be used with PC Based PowerSDR or flash a standalone image and run software on the Pi-SDR with a external display.

    Can this be used on 11 meters as it states on the website that its got extra filters in so it can not accept out of band signals.

    Wow! Thank you for the great video. Keep 'em coming. I have been looking for a source for a external stereo (input) USB sound card. 73, - K1QS.

    It would be helpfull in the programing if there was the option to insert and to move a compleat line up or down great radio otherwise

    When connecting this kind of setups with large antenna’s, does it require some sort of breaker for lightning when connecting tot your home network? ⚡️ ⚡️ ⚡️. Is there a good solutions to overcome the problem of stoke by lightning? This should be one of my concerns when connecting large antenna’s to my home(data)- network. Again nice setup @techminds 👍

    Good morning. Not sure if you are able to help me as I have the RS-HFIQ and I am unable to get it to work on HDSDR. What version of windows are you using please? It keep coming up with the dll fault. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Great videos. Love the variety. VK4OLD - Australia

    Did I miss something? How do you set up the levels in and out of the sound card that connects to the RS-HFIQ ??

    • @TechMindsOfficial
      @TechMindsOfficial  Před 2 lety

      Simply use the windows sound mixer to setup the levels. I believe there is a calibration procedure documented so that the S Meter shows the correct reading.

      @BrianG61UK Před 2 lety

      @@TechMindsOfficial Thanks. So you did this and therefore you know that your audio wasn't clipping when you tested the output levels?

    I spent ages trying to get HDSDR to work for my sdr receiver. Never figured it out and gave up. A few months later i was determined to get it running, but alas, nope, just wouldn't receive anything???
    (edit) I used sdrsharp on windows and gxrx on chromebook for my sdr in the end.

      @batica81 Před 2 lety +2

      It is possible to make it work, I have been using it for the last 15 years, but that is the problem, it hasn't evolved at all, neither has most of the SDR software. This project has some great points, smd components, pin diode switching, optical isolation, great price, but still, having to use that crap software is a dealbreaker for me. In theory, a RaspberryPi with some GnuRadio magic might turn this into a decent standalone device, but I doubt I will have time for that in this decade.

      @TechMindsOfficial  Před 2 lety +5

      Wait till my next video, I agree HDSDR is ugly software but I have a solution to use other SDR software I will show you.

    • @DanielGoller
      @DanielGoller Před 2 lety

      I wouldn't enjoy the RS-HFIQ as much if I didn't get to use it with powersdr with the pi-sdr.
      Also:
      I hated every minute of fighting hdsdr.

      If needs setting up properly and you also need extra bit of program copied into the folder and you also need a good antenna

    5W into a 1KW Linear I hope 🤣

    • @26DR715
      @26DR715 Před 2 lety

      There is a amp available if you want more power would make it upto 50 watts.
      If conditions are right you can take to the whole world on 5 watts. But 50 watts does help if you have a noisey ground level.

    This might be useful if it put out at least 10 watts PEP. 5 watts just won't do it. Come back when you have a practical, complete transceiver.

      Agree need 10+ watts and requires too many little accessories which drives up costs and complicates portable work . . . nice layout . . . good job on ground plane . . . plan to follow this product! Also would appreciate cw band demos. . .

    Obsolete design for about a decade now, that does not even implement a USB sound card. Why would anyone buy this?
