Het geklaag over het rode scherm vind ik zo zielig.
Je weet dat de Mol ook mee kan doen aan de 'strijd' om de slechtste test. Met 7 op 20 heb je de test niet opzettelijk slecht gemaakt. Als je op de verkeerde Mol zit heb je, zeker als je de antwoorden op test op 1 persoon richt, al gauw meer dan de helft van de vragen foutief beantwoord.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this season. The last two seasons were merely very good. This one was a step up from that. There hasn't been a bad or even mediocre season of De Mol Belgie yet. But this is easily top five. Maybe even top three.
I'm not particularly stressed about the red screen. It definitely made Commy look a bit more suspicious (seriously, you guess four baby photos and you manage to get every single one wrong?) I really don't agree with the negative feelings about it. For me, I don't think it was unfair. In the end it was still up to the candidates how they voted. Lancelot proved that the whole thing could be "gamed". It's not even the most iconic red screen in the Belgian Mole (I would say a particular red screen in Season 5 would be the runner-up in that contest, with that red screen in Season 2 - if you've seen it you know exactly what I'm talking about! - would easily take the win.)
Talking of the early seasons - I'm genuinely annoyed at myself for not spotting the Marc hint! Me, Professor Mole, missed something like that! In my defence, I speak very little Dutch and I don't know anywhere that that particular season is subtitled. So it was an easy one to miss. But still... gah!
I'm still really annoyed at myself. I switched off Comfort some time after episode four, and I can't remember why. It wasn't the red screen. Ah well...
Professor Mole, is that what you want to be called from now on? 🤓
Unfortunately, I haven't seen season 2 and 5 but you just made it sound super interesting! (On the goplay website you can only watch seasons 7-11 😟)

@@julieswidm Don't know if you've had a chance to watch the latest season? I'm really enjoying it. I think I've got a handle on the Mole. After the first episode I had suspicions of the person who left in episode 4, but my suspect from episode 2 onwards is still in the game. I'm fairly confident in this Mole. I'd be interested to see if any other regulars have had a chance to watch the season, and if so, what they're thinking about, suspect-wise. I don't want to give names for the sake of spoilers, so let's just say it's the person who stopped a lap short? That's who I'm thinking.

This season has been a lot of fun for me. I enjoyed the candidates, the assignments, the way the episodes were edited, and I even enjoyed getting absolutely BLINDSIDED halfway through 😂.
Some final thoughts about this episode/season:
-I still have mixed feelings about the red screen. The fact that Leïla was ok with it makes it a little better. But still...during Comfort’s discussion with the producers, they told her that they wanted things to be fair for the candidates, and that they didn’t want Comfort to take the opportunity to be in the DeLorean away from any candidate who decided to go all in on the wrong suspect. Well...that is exactly what happened. Due to overlap between the candidates in regards to answers on the test, it is very difficult to predict just how low a “low score” is going to be. In this case, Leïla was still able to get 7/20 answers correct, even though she was on the wrong track. So, although Comfort may have thought that a score of 6/20 was high enough to give the others a fair chance...it wasn’t. I am also not convinced that Leïla was doomed to get eliminated in episode 5 if she had survived episode 4. Several candidates had Leïla as a top suspect. She could have outlasted Lieselot and/or Ruben if she had made it through this elimination. Another thing...what if all of the candidates had scored much higher than Comfort on the test and then refused to help her with the baby photos? She would have been forced to guess multiple photos correctly (and earn money for the pot) in order to “save” herself. Yeah...the more I think about it, the more I think producers were REALLY lucky that things turned out the way they did. This whole situation could have seriously backfired on them in multiple ways.
-While Julie was secretly hoping that Lancelot would share the pot with Toos, I was secretly hoping that Lancelot would tell Toos that he owed him 3000 euros for the exemption that he refused to take 😂😂 (there are 2 types of people, lol)
-Toos’s tattoo was somehow the least surprising part of this episode for me. Like, as soon as he said “I have something I want to say” I was like “TATTOO?” And then when I saw the belt getting unbuckled, I was like “of course that’s where he got it. Where else?”
(On a related note...Conny!!!!!!! You go girl! Lol!)
-Lieselot was stunningly beautiful in this episode. All of the candidates looked good, but she was just gorgeous!
-The baby hints...I actually noticed some of them (in the song lyrics) but didn’t connect them to Comfort. Most of them were subtle, but I will admit that the drill sergeant making them all sing “babies crying for their mama, who among them is the mole?” was pretty much a giant, flashing arrow pointing directly at Comfort.
-Going back to the first assignment in episode 1, I think it would have still been possible for the group to earn money, if Comfort’s group had reached Gilles first. Her group was still complete, with all 4 members, so there is a chance that the other 3 could have decided to press the button within the correct time limits. There is only so much Comfort could have done to either hurry them up or stall them without looking too suspicious. There was only one person who made that assignment impossible to win, and that was Lancelot.
-Lancelot was definitely a deserving winner, with how intelligently he played. I was surprised to find out just how close he and Toos were on the final test! That is actually a shame that one of them had to lose. I am a little curious now about how many of Lancelot’s suspicious actions were genuine mistakes, and how many were things that he deliberately did to mislead his fellow candidates. Because he did make some really odd choices, especially in the second half of the season. But in any case, he was ultimately taking away from his own prize money, so I guess he was ok with that.
Again, this has been a great season, and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone’s comments. I am looking forward to WIDM 2024 🙂
