Gary Grainger is a self-taught jazz/fusion bassist who has toured with Earth, Wind & Fire, The John Scofield Band, Pockets, Carl Filipiak, and more.

I was lucky enough to see Chambers and Grainger on the Scofield Blue Matter tour in 1988-89 or so @The Bayou in Georgetown, DC....OMG!! Chambers did a solo where he is doing triplets with ONE FOOT in an ostinato fashion...NEVER HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THAT AT THE TIME!!
