I'm sure that I'm not alone in saying that I can hardly watch the news of today without it breaking my heart. Maybe that's why I enjoy these videos so much. It's still terrible, but it's far enough away that it's not so painful. I'm sure there's many like me. History is so interesting and not nearly as painful if you're looking back at it.

Our researcher probbaly could not tell you even any basic news going on now - she lives in back history! We think a study had been made showing that listening or watching true crime was supposed to be a tension release. We hope you liked the show and apreciate your support!🙏

Money causes some people to do horrible things, like murder. Thank you for sharing.

Well said! 👍We think also in this case it was the drugs. He was suppsedly heavily addicted to morphine and had been for years so he had real trouble holding donw any kind of work or practice. Coming off the morpohone in prison was apparently very difficult and took some time. Sad. he was by all accounts before the addiction a really humane person.🤔

Poor young Percy. Cheerful and living a productive life in spite of his disability until he was so cruelly murdered for the love of money. Just heartbreaking.
Thanks very much, NotT. Enjoyed, as always.
Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canuck viewers!! Have a good one and be safe.

Yes, Happy Canada day to you too!! 🙌🙌We now have this in our diary! We did find a short story related to Canada that will be in tomorrow's Vintage Voices about Lord Rothschild offering to pay the fees for some 200 people to be emigrated to Canda for a fresh start in life! Ummm, not quite the same as a Canadian crime story...Yes, the thing about this case is his absolute certainty that he outwitted everyone with the capsule feint. Good old Scotland yard!🙌 Have a wonderful picnic! 🧺

I'm SURE that Loathsome Lamson murdered Herbert AND poor Percy!! What a greedy, HORRIBLE man!!
I'm shocked that Mrs Lamson stood by her murderous husband!! Maybe she was scared of him, or blinded to his faults?!
I'm glad that women in the UK can now inherit their own money, and that the wife's inheritance no longer goes directly to the husband!! A woman has as much right to her inheritance as a man does!!
Well done on another INTRIGUING video, Robin!! ❤💞💕👏👍

Thank you - glad you liked! yes - there was specualtion regarding the mysterious Herbert but it was not followed through beause really, he was already found guilty. We thought it really interesting that the American president stepped in to try to get him found insane!! We rweally like this story and why hey! It corresponds with the start of Wimbledon! Thank you as always Nadia!🙏

@@newsofthetimes I suppose money talks, hence the intervention of the American President. I doubt very much he would have intervened had the case involved someone from a less "connected" family!!
I don't think Lansome was insane!! He was seriously addicted to morphine, and sadly, an addiction like that makes you desperate and clouds your judgement!! He was also running low on funds, which presumably exacerbated matters!! It doesn't excuse murder though!!
I wonder what happened to Mrs Lansome?! I would assume that her relationship with her remaining sister would be pretty fraught, under the circumstances!!

I totally agree! I have blocked anything about the news, especially political news, I've never seen anything like it. It's very depressing that people can't get along and try to be nice to each other. That's why I love these smaller channels where you can leave a comment and actually get a response!
But take heart! I'm convinced the good people of the world will win in the end!! Tallyhooo!!!

I hope the day comes that Robin will be too busy to reply to us all. I enjoy watching new channels grow. My son told me that the best way is to comment while I'm watching the video if I can and leave a thumbs up. I even thumbs up videos I don't always like, unless it's a topic I really don't agree with. Especially for new channels. I like to watch new channels grow, and we can all say, "We knew them way back when!"

And all for money that in this day and age, he wouldn't have the slightest right to. What a piece of work! Poisoning a disabled boy right in front of the Headmaster, obviously thought he was smarter than everyone else

    • @newsofthetimes
      @newsofthetimes  Před 2 měsíci

Yes - quite!! and once agan, well said! 👍 he did indeed think he had outwitted everyone because the headmaster saw him scooping the sugar into the capsule. We once again give credit to Scotland yard who, once they had him in their sights, would not let go. The deadly raisins. Very clever. But yes, rather filled with hubris and thinking he was more clever than anyone. 🤔
