- Welcome back to the channel. in addition to showing the proper process to paint a Lexan RC body, we are going to show the difference the your paint backer color makes on the finished color of your body. Be sure to watch the reveal, you will be shocked at the difference!!!
That turned out amazing, very informative, thank you.
Looked better before
Very useful, I hope you will make another video for the protective tape, wheel outline...
Would backing it with white vs leaving it unbacked have given it a higher neon glow?
Yes I think the white looks better
If you want to boost the color or preserve it as it is, use white or silver before black. I usually use white and then black. I only use black, if there are windows, since it looks considerably better from the outside. If the body doesn't have windows I usually put on white only and stop there.
This was a very in formative video
Does it really matter if you have runs on the INSIDE of the body? No one can see it anyway.
The problem are less the drops on the inside, but the fact that the concentrated paint will dissolve the color below and create some bubbles which you can see from the other side. The same sometimes happens if there's just too much paint, even if there isn't already a layer below. I think the reason is, that the solvents evaporate very quickly and if there's too much paint it creates these bubbles. The paint is meant to be sprayed on in thin layers.
wow it went from ugly asf, to epic
Title shoud be how to ruin neon paint job.
That is true, but as we explained in the video, we did not like the neon color. We were trying to show how important it is to back your paint and how big a difference the backing color makes. Thank you for your feedback!
@@1RockyjlShould I back an all black body?
@@cwatson42785 no need to back an all white, all silver, and all black bodies. Just apply 3 coats
@@1Rockyjl Thanks buddy. Yeah that's what I was thinking as well but fiqured id confirm. Appreciate the quick response! I just finished the 3rd coat. Might just do one last one to finish the can off. Thanks again!
