Owen Coyle is a professional football manager and former player who currently the head coach of Indian Super League club Chennaiyin. He played as a striker for several clubs in England and Scotland, and made one appearance for the Republic of Ireland national team. Owen has an extensive list of both playing and managing teams to the highest level and knows how to tell a story! .... in fact he's so good at talking we had to break this podcast down into two!

One of the nicest guys in football. Printed numbers on his boys Airdrie tops back in the day and he spent time chatting.
Once Stuart Holden got injured his tenure at Bolton turned into a nightmare. A real shame because he played some great football.

Great interview lads. Owen only played one season at my team, Falkirk. Think he was 35/36 but he was unreal. Absolute goal machine. Gutted he didn’t stayed on.

Absolutely brilliant interview a Glaswegian like myself also my mum was a gorbals girl. The greatest human being who walked on earth. I mind making a retort to something she said to be told “if you were as shitty as your witty yould be in some mess” Owen would tell don’t mess with gorbals girls

Interview overlooks Coyle's disastrous player signings in 2011/12 eg David NGog £4m and Marvin Sordell £3m that led to the club's demise.
He did not sign them the board did.
Did he say off camera if he was Bolton or Burnley?
Did John drive all the way up to Dundee in his bare feet, chomping on toblerone ??

Now bad blood from most Bolton fans. He did the best we could and played some fantastic football. Ultimately undermined by the chairman and owners by not properly supporting him when he lost 3 of his best players through injury and they were replaced with rubbish like reo coker

Burnley fans hated him way B4 he went to bastard rovers .to walk out on us half way threw first season in prem was disgusting ok saying wot a job I did we gave u the platform an u did the dirty on us .an had absolutely no success after that .grass isn't always greener Owen
Well the one thing you can say about this guy is that he is anything but boring !!! When you have to listen to boring monotone cliche ridden interviews with players who have the personalilty of a dead animal - this makes a change !! The cheeky remark to Ferguson about borrowing his players could have been made by Del Boy Trotter - fantastic !
