- Newcomer Kelvin Kiptum finished his first Bank of America Chicago Marathon in historic fashion, not only winning the 2023 race and beating out defending champion Benson Kipruto, but possibly setting a world record in the process.
R.I.P to Kelvin Kiptum You will be missed, and so young too :(
Godspeed on your next marathon in the world beyond ✊🏃
WHY ARE U EVERYWHERE
@@Crayoon69 WHY ARE UUUUUU EVERYWHERE?
❤@@Crayoon69
His pace while he was celebrating, running to his family/friends...That's still faster than my marathon pace 😅
I have to run at a cadence of like 222+ to achieve that pace lol
@@joshuasmith1215exactly
And Kiptum run about 180cadence 🏃😁. I can run 200m his speed and my best 5k is 21:01 but I am 57 male.
Faster than my sprinting pace.
A Hug between Carey and Kelvin that will forever remain timeless. Rest In Peace Kelvin Kiptum, tragically killed today in Kenya at age 24.
Amazing performance! This is the guy who will probably break the 2-hour barrier in an official marathon!
For sure! The previous men’s record on this course was 2:03:45 which he beat by OVER 3 MINUTES! Berlin is a faster course where Kipchoge had the 2:01:09 world record from last year so I pretty much guarantee you Kiptum will drop a sub 2 hour barrier time in Berlin next year if the course conditions are favourable that day!
100 percent. He must do berlin next year! Wow!
for sure he has so much left after he finished.
@@bh4560 probably doing Berlin in 2025 as there's gonna be Olympics next year.
👏🏽👏🏽Give that man a BIG 5 course and meal!
I thought Eliud couldn't be beaten. His times are completely crazy. But what Kelvin Kiptum has delivered here is simply incredible. It's probably only a matter of time until the 2-minute mark is reached. And of course we are now waiting for the clash of the titans: Eliud vs. Kelvin!
Reaching the 2 minute mark will require quite some work!
@@kevinboban116😂😆😂😂
The year is 2756. A genetically engineered embryo containing the frozen sperm of Kiptum, Kipchoge, and Bolt, is fused with The terminator, and wins the Marathon with a time of sub 2 mins.
thats fast asf, 786.57 miles per hour@@scaredmuffin6371
@@scaredmuffin6371😂😂
And all the time we look at this amazing athlete celebrating, number 2 is still nowhere to be seen! 😮
😆😂😂😂
Congratulations and keep flying our Kenyan flag high!
What is even more amazing is the fact that this man is still running all over the place in celebration and there is not another runner in sight. 🏃♂
You can see Kipchoge's influence in that celebration. Good job, kijana.
Kipchoge legacy !!! He showed that anything is possible, no human is limited !
Well there is a limit somewhere, even if we haven’t yet reached it
Exactly what I thought
Eliud is right. no human is limited. He is a great inspiration for the future generations.
no human is limited? than why doesn´t he run the 42k in 1 minute?
@@sebastiana.7278aw man, you really got him there.
I have been fortunate to run 9 x marathons, including the 6 x majors - every time, it takes me circa 2 hours to recover - this legend looks fresher than me jogging to the local store 🤣🥰👏👏 🐐 👏
Yeah drugs will do that to you lol
@@mintymilkkno drugs pure genes and hardwork every sport has elites
Two greats of the marathon - Samuel Wanjiru and Kelvin Kiptum - Both Kenyan, both died at age 24, both had so much more to show us. Wanjiru still holds the Olympic record and I dare say, Kiptum will hold the World record for many years to come.
Go thee well champ..
Rest in paradise.
didnt expect to see someone run so much faster than kipchoge's wr so soon, amazing run and congrats on the WR!
REST EASY CHAMP
,,unbelievable man. Your legacy will be remembered...RIP
Not showing the elapsed time as he passes the finish line is the height of incompetence. Great work everybody.
Seroiusly, not a single picture of him crossing the line and the clock. Incredible performance, bad camerawork.
@@theunknown21329 Imagine how the broadcasters must’ve felt being unable to say his time on the air - they were just as in the dark as us at home.
ridiculous
Amazing
This is great to see, how overjoyed he and his team are. So they should be. Awesome.
Cara, você quebraria tantos records, seria, provavelmente, o maior maratonista da história. Descanse em paz. KIPTUM!
Two greatest runners for God. Abebi Bikila and Kelvin Kiptum. 🌹🌹
Was Bikila the Rotterdam winner?
the best runner for me
Rest in peace, Kiptum. You go as a legend.
Average of 4:36 per mile. For 26.2 miles. I called my self a distance runner back in the day but my best was 4:59 for a single mile(shit I know) And I damn near died doing it. Mad respect.
you did run a single mile and yet called yourself a distance runner? huh

Respect man!
God damn! Amazing athlete!
Something that puts it into context is he was waiting for 4 minutes for second place
Yes, he had time to take selfies, kiss the ground and do victory laps.
@@Tritiuminducedfusion motherfucker had so much time he went back to the track to hug people lmaooo
@@Tritiuminducedfusion And the second-place finisher -- who ran 2:04! -- was still nowhere in sight at the end of this video. Truly in a class of his own.

This will be the first human to run an official marathon in under 2 hrs. He will do it. He just needs to run 1 second faster every km..but it is the marathon guys. A second is a lifetime. So hard to break it
