My New Boat: LOWE 170

- This is just a quick review/layout of the new boat I got and will be using for future videos. It is a 2001 lowe 170, with a 2005 Johnson 20 on the back. So far ir runs like a champ and can't wait to use it more.
I bought a 2000 Lowe 170 with a 70hp Johnson in 2011 from a friend. It had the Evinrude branded Minn Kota TM like yours, until I upgraded it to a 24v Maxxum (cheap from another friend upgrading to 36v.) It served me very well, lots of fun. Started developing some leaks in 2020 and donated it to Wounded Warrior affiliate to work with. 'Hope yours is still running well.

Love this video. I just bought 14 ft Lowe side console with a 25 horse Johnson and this proves that I don't need a bigger engine hahaha! Looks like that 20 horse was pushing that 17-ft boat just fine
Yes it does....by myself I hold about 23-25 mph

Nice boat man I got a 1999 lowe 170. Same boat, 70hp Johnson moves 2 people 41 mph
That's awesome, just wish most of my lakes weren't 20hp limit
@@Kodysbackwoodsbasics here in northwest Louisiana its 50 55 mph on most lakes. Of course the 200hp up club doesn't care about that tho Lol
@@louisianag yeah, I still take this to unlimited lakes lol but most big boaters just cruise right past me and look
@@Kodysbackwoodsbasics how fast does a 20 push tho. If my 70 ever gives out I'll end up getting a 20 or 30 long as it can get on plane
@@louisianag its actually a 25hp with a 20 cover but by myself I get around 30mph. with two people and all our stuff about 20 to 22

They are all the switches that control certain parts. One is to turn on the lights, one is for the bilge pump, another is to turn the live wells on.
