I was baptized in the Catholic Church 1979 I was 22 years old I had to do this email over somehow I lost it. Even though I took the classes didn't know what I believed because I have a learning disability Allison special education classes I wasn't understanding understanding what the Catholic Church teaches. The way I got none of the Catholic Church two of my high school classmates help me get in a Catholic Church Catholic Church and they were my sponsors. Unfortunately one of my sponsors died a few years ago. I made a mistake and left the church 10 years ago I didn't go to mass very often when I first was baptized I did not know it was a mortal sin mortal sin. Didn't know the difference different level sins venial sins and mortal sin. I always thought sinless in there the same kinds of sin I didn't know that so when I came back to the church last December 2023 I took the classes over again online I have learned so much more and understanding so I hadn't missed any Mass since I came back I also go to the holy days Mass I also do my fasting on no certain days of the year I also did all my confirmations and confirm 1979. So I had to do a lot of confessions to remember everything that I did needed to confess for the last 48 years that's a lot to remember Holy Spirit reminds me just things I need to confess. I really enjoy going to confession and talkin to the priest the one I go to I love him we do it face-to-face without the curtain and we have an extra confession third Friday of the month that's a men's meeting men's meeting so we do that afterwards if I happen to miss confession. Since I was in the Special Ed I don't know how to spell so I put all my sins on my phone using the microphone of all my sins since I don't know how to spell. When I was going to other churches my wife wasn't happy about it but she did not leave me I came back and I told my wife I'm coming back to church going to mass I'm hoping my wife would start going back to Mass she's not ready yet because of all the churches I went to I went to Amish Anna I did that. If I knew of all the beliefs of the Catholic church I don't believe I would have left the church gone to other churches. I thought the Catholic church was just like the other churches different denominations but the Catholic church is not this is a church that Jesus Christ set up to with Saint Peter the Catholic Church is centuries old. I never going to do that again I learned a big lesson and I thought going to confession not all sins will be forgiven all sins can be forgiven except for blaspheming. I never knew what blasphemy was I found out what it means refusing to go to confession refuse admit that you have sinned and going to a priest all my life I wondered what did that mean. And my favorite thing to do is going to mass and listen to the message from the priest a taking the Eucharist presence body and blood. I didn't understand what that meant until someone explained it to me it's the presence of Jesus Christ blood and body does that mean does it mean knee foot his leg it means the presents body and blood

You guys have been awesome for five years and I have learned so much from you. Thankfully I know the ten commandments by heart as carrying them around on a 'tablet' of stone or a cube of lapis lazuli would be tough. LOL! Ryan S you are extremely knowledgeable, Ryan D you have many insights that I share, and Fr. Rich your faith is a beautiful thing. Ryan D I ask myself that question daily - what did I put before God. Where is it written that not going to Mass is a sin? A mortal sin? Jesus said "Do this in memory of me", but didn't add or else! I get asked that. Yes, Ryan D I was in many a workplace where the payroll was literally stolen as the person(s) did not earn it because they didn't do the work.
I have heard that the Commandment that says Thou shall not kill, is actually Thou shall not murder, based on language of that day.
I haven’t watched this yet but as soon as I leave this comment I will.
The reason I say that is I don’t know if you will talk about this or not and honestly I’m not 100% sure on it’s accuracy, but…
I’ve heard it said that when God wrote the commandments on the tablets He used his finger but what blew my mind was that this statement was followed by saying that when doing so God wrote in both sides of the stones at the same time, for example, (and I’m just winging it at this point) God wrote the 1st 5 commandments on the front side of one tablet but while doing so He had also written the other 5 on the reverse side of the tablet.
Not a mirror image or stone protrusion from the front side but separate unique text on the reverse. (I hope that makes some kind of sense because I’m pretty sure I’m doing a horrible job of trying to express the idea via text).
And again, I’m not sure of all or even partial points of this statement have any validity to them at all but i find the idea fascinating.
When you got the commandant for I said to myself oh crap I need to call my mom. I hope other people did too.
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, yet offend at one point, he is guilty of all”. What can you say about this, please educate me? Please let scriptures explain itself. Thank you.

me im still memorise the 10 commandmets im studying at the immaculate conception college from elementary, to college we. have religious education subjects an im a catichist i teach the children about 10 comandmets, now many dont know about ten comandments
When I was going to confession I had to ask a question. Have to go to mass are we allowed to go see a movie or not at all. When I used to be Protestant breaking the Sabbath day going to a movie after going to church was a sin because some of us didn't know that law we are allowed to do things after Mass horror about to do after mass.
Using Seton to homeschool my son really drove the commandments home. The 70s didn't do a great job of educating. I was in Catholic School too.

Thanks so much! As a legal scholar, our laws are based on "Natural Law". The Ten Commandments provide God's formal written irrefutable natural law or "Constitution" from which all other laws are interpreted with changing times, by the catechism of our Church. As an aside, I must pose a question that has bothered me--After years of travel and the hardship of God's chosen people, why did God have Moses place his staff down in an area which had/has no oil?!?:) AMEN🤔

What about the commandment from Jesus to not bear false witness, as written in Matthew?
It’s also difficult these days to “take” from the poor, when the POOR has so much more than those who work. Another prime example is how much cash & goods the govt & Catholic Church gives to illegal immigrants. People who lie & break laws to illegally enter this Country and it goes downhill from there. I would ❤ to go to the Holy Land, but I am too poor to think about being able to go.

I am a convert. Do you have a suggestion on learning Catholic vocabulary?
Get a study Bible. They make some that include in footnotes the intended meaning behind things. Also a dictionary. Your study Bible should be one you can mark up, put tabs in while using other books to locate where everything is written. It takes a long time from many sources to get the terminology. The Catholic Company has many good books on many different subjects including gardening, how to pray (How to listen when God is speaking), how to drink (Drinking with the saints), and how to deal with people with mental illness. Bits and pieces everywhere
I have never seen a Catholic dictionary. It just all comes from tradition and scripture

I seem to end up in confession every other week if not every week. I just went to Metallica in Los Angeles, I was talking to my wife and a GD slipped. I felt God leave me. I'm sick of me messing up our relationship. I'm in RCIA and I set myself back and return to my old self. Mother Teresa didn't curse and neither should I.

There was the Dark Ages wherein bibles were prohibited, burned, and those with possessions tortured and put to death, several tens of millions of them. It will happen again. So, while we can, can we take advantage of this time wherein we are free to have bibles. This has eternal ramifications for our salvation. So, why entrust our salvation apart from the Holy Word … “heaven and earth shall pass away but not one joy or one title shall pass away from the law till all be fulfilled”.

Hi Thank you. Crypto education is what the world needs the
most right now. I don't think that buy and hold is a valid
investment strategy anymore. Not too diluted and to a

BUT Statues and also Recordings create a dissonance between a praying thinking and feeling person and Reality bc one cannot see the reactions and changes prayers make instantly. Interactions are very dynamic. But There is only a one sided „interaction“ when it comes to pictures statues videos and recordings. And this can weaken the trust in faith. Especially when you are not aware of that or highly responsive eg when you are young or isolated. There is a danger that is happening today every day and it is wise to reflect on this commandment.
Pictures of Mercy pictures and statues of the church that are connected to the gospel remind us of holiness. They are a great inspiration.
I’m a Protestant that feels pulled to the Catholic Church. I’ve been watching this show for a couple years now on a weekly basis. Love the show. The only turn off is that Ryan Scheel appears to have animosity for Protestants. Maybe I’m wrong and am just being sensitive. ?

This is very interesting and glad I could participate. You read the Ten Commandments from the CATHOLIC catechism. Why don’t you go to the Bible. Wouldn’t it produce better results if we go directly to the unadulterated word if God rather than 2nd hand information? I read, God is a jealous God. Where in the Bible it says the Catholic can substitute for what the Bible says, the inspired word of God?

Regardless of one's identity, the church welcomes everyone who has the faith to honour God. As Catholics, we are blessed to have a Pope who is drawing the flock to come and return to the loving relevance of God.

We must observe the Commandments, but we are not thereby justified. This is basic theology. If you refrain from committing the sins in the Ten Commandments, how would you go to Heaven? You must be in the state of grace when you die, to be judged worthy of eternal life after death. Avoiding grave sin is necessary but not sufficient. Christ obtained our salvation; He merited the graces needed for us to be saved. Salvation is a free gift; but having accepted that gift, we must live according to those graces. We must live a life of love.

If you believe in the true ten commandments and you know that God himself wrote it with his finger, why do you break the second commandment and the fourth? The catholic church community makes graven images and worship them and worship on the first day of the week sunday. Worship and community and rest with God is on the Seventh day Sabbath. catholic community needs to read a king james or new kings james Bible and turn to Exodus 20 and read the way God really wrote them. Sadly that catholic bible is not the true word of God, and that book strays people in the wrong direction. I pray that at least one person that reads this will go and search for themselves. I pray that you see the truth and are convicted to full heartedly surrender you lives to Jesus and obey His true commandments.
