    Many of these sayings are known in many other Caribbean islands too who will understand, not just Jamaicans. If we have to get really technical, Patwah, correct spelt Patois, actually means broken French.
    Check the way Antiguans and Montserratians speak in their local dialects and you will hear many of the same phrases and idioms that are popular in the Jamaican dialect.

    What is the meaning of:mi come fi drink milk but mi nuh come fi count cows

    • @gabicreightonbooksetc.
      @gabicreightonbooksetc. Před rokem

      It means I’m here to fulfill an obligation and not to be caught up in the circumstances surrounding the obligation. For example, I’m here to do my job well and for my personal growth and development, and not to be distracted by or be all-consumed with office politics and gossips.
      This expression reminds me of an ex boss in a positive way. He used this saying to compliment me. I’ll never forget.😊

    • @Den-gz4yo

      Both, its pronounced Patwah, but spell Patois. Im sure in the future, the spelling will be Patwah or Potwah when its officialized
