People who grew up in Montserrat, W.I fully comprehend 99 per cent of Jamaican Patois. Similar patois spoken there, of course, ‘the Queens English’ is spoken by all as it is taught from A B C classes. Also, having Jamaican friends help too. OFCOURSE, ‘proper English’ is taught to ALL CARIBBEAN CHILDREN, every Island has their own form of Patois though.

Its not "zimmi". It's simmi - a contraction of "you, and see, and me" or "youseeme" said at speed, and it becones "yuhsimmi". There's no z.

Many of these sayings are known in many other Caribbean islands too who will understand, not just Jamaicans. If we have to get really technical, Patwah, correct spelt Patois, actually means broken French. Check the way Antiguans and Montserratians speak in their local dialects and you will hear many of the same phrases and idioms that are popular in the Jamaican dialect.
