Dutch Noodle Croquette (Bami Schijf): Everything You Need To Know

Bami disk, bami bite, and bami block, are just a few names for the Dutch noodle croquette. The bami schijf has been one of the most well-known Dutch snacks for years, but what is the story behind it and how do you make your own bami croquette? In this video, I explore the history of the snack and share how you can easily make your own. This video is the third of four in which I dive into the world of Dutch snacks. Ingredients for Noodles
250g Noodles
½ Cup Pointed Cabbage
¼ Cup Bean Sprouts
1 Small Carrot
1 Small Leek
1 Red Chili
1 Onion
1 Garlic clove
1 Bouillon cube
½ Tablespoon Chili flakes
½ Teaspoon Cumin
½ Teaspoon Fish sauce
¼ Teaspoon Cloves
1 Tablespoon Coconut oil
2 Tablespoons Sweet soy sauce
4-5 Tablespoons Water
Ingredients Roux
50g (¼ cup + 1 tbsp) Flour
50g (3 tbsp + 2 tsp) Butter
250ml vegetable stock
1 ½ Teaspoon Curry spices
2 Sprigs Curled Parsley
Ingredients Breading
Approx. 1 Cup Breadcrumbs
¼ Cup Flour
2 Eggs
& Enough oil to fry
