Railgun and supply pack is fun to run on bots, spend your time hunting hulks and every variety of devastator and it can make life easier for the rest of your team.
I love it against bots, it us just terrible with gunships. Im fine with a gun having strengths and weaknesses, but the railgun should be good against units and bad against structures (i.e fabricators, AA guns, mortars, etc). When you throw in a weakness to gunships and factory striders’ guns and face it becomes more of a hinderance.
That’s why you go scorcher and supply backpack. The scorcher can kill gunships by hitting their torso in 8 shots(6 for 1 engine but its way harder and inconsistent). The bad ammo economy of the scorcher gets solved by the supply backpack, which you would want to use for railgun anyways
@@gravyscones one thing with gunships is that if you crouch completely still and just shoot at them until they shoot rockets then you do evasive maneuvers
Honestly, they should just make the current rail gun a primary, given how nerfed it is. The AMR can take down Hulks just as quickly, and still works better on other things.
can't run autocannon w/ supply pack and railgun packs way more punch than AMR. both autocannon and AMR are good but railgun fits my criteria much better

yeah i hate gunships, so ive started bring the mounted sentry to deal with them. also works wonders when dealing with massive crowds

@@s2wuolf508 great advice but i use plasma punisher, so they're out of primary range. and railguns really not an option for them
