You chose the Sword; I chose the (Berserker) Axe - (Main Hand) Beast & EBotD - (Off Hand) HotO & a 3 /3 / x CTA - Capped Skills are Axe Mastery, Battle Command & Battle Orders, 1 point each in both Find Item & Berserk. and split the remaining skill points between Frenzy and Whirlwind (17 Base Skill each when reached lvl 99 - currently 15 each at lvl 95). My Barb's Find Item is competent enough at 50% chance with 300% Magic Find; he's horked an Andariel's Viasge, Tal Armor, and a Griffon's thus far (not horked a high rune yet - still trying). GCs are 2x Warcry, 3x Combat & a 10% Bone Break; I only use Berserk towards Unique Monsters that have Stone Skin. Merc Gear - Andariel's, Eth Fortitude, & Eth Infinity Cryptic Axe.
Long comment incoming. Not a bad build guide video overall, though I'd say this exact advice/guide has been posted to death as a basic cookie cutter build. Below I will list out a few of the options available for building out a great all around Frenzy barb along with some pro/cons. Your skill tree is on point. I'm just focusing mostly on gearing options. Helm: BiS= Arreats Best all around helm and putting a cham in is a great way to avoid the cold damage of Ravenfrost. I personally, still run Ravenfrost as I find the small number of shattered corpses to not be a huge issue and instead use an all Res/max damage jewel. Optional=G-Face An amazing helm for max damage build because of the DS and CB Armor: BiS=Enigma This is entirely personal preference. The QoL vs the slight damage loss from a Fortitude plus the MF on Enigma make this my personal fave. I also don't use tele much once I am in the area I want to farm. Optional=Treachery/Fortitude Treachery is criminally underrated for this build and is amazing for areas where your baba will be facing lots of decrep curses as it's in built IAS will keep you swinging at near max frames. Through in fade procs and you can comfortably clear any and all content with Treachery. Gloves: BiS=Laying of Hands You nailed it in your vid. This is the only correct choice and they are super easy to come by. Belt: BiS=String of Ears Another perfect selection. It gives us everything we need. There are situational belts like Thunder Gods Vigor and Goldwrap but the best all rounder belt is String. Boots: BiS=War Travelers I personally run a lot of CS/WSK at players 5+ and the flat damage and MF of Travs make them by go to as CB starts to trail off on higher player count. That being said my alternative (Gores) are probably the better overall damage item . Option= Gore Riders. Basically 1a + 1b really a personal preference here. Rings: BiS= Ravenfrost + dual leech/AR ring Like I mentioned above Ravenfrost cold damage just isn't a huge concern for me as I personally don't think a lost corpse here or there is a major issue to my overall efficiency. Dual leech + AR+ All Res + damage is the dream/ but really any mana res+ mods is the minimum for the 2nd ring. Option=Bk is a great option if your hell bent on not using Ravenfrost. Amulet: BiS=Highlords Only correct answer here. Option=There are a ton of optional amulets but none will come close to the power increase provided by highlords. Weapons MH: BiS= Grief The best and only option for main hand. Unfortunately, Grief is just too OP to be reasonably replaced by any other item. OFFHand: This is where we have lots of options. My personal set-up uses Lawbringer. Lawbringer provides decrep procs, and santuary Aura to give us a huge amount of safety, and damage to undead. Additionally, Lawbringer allows me to only ever use Berserk against Stone Skin phys immunes. No, Lawbringer does not do a ton of damage on it's own but it allows me to safely/lazily clear all areas of the game on P8. OPTIONS: Last Wish=great for ubers and ultimate tank. Grief=2 griefs produce the best flat damage in the game for a frenzy barb. Death=The fastest P8 boss killing setup that I have used. You have to know how to do the weapon swap bug for this though. BoTD=Why would you ever do this when a 2nd grief or a lawbringer are so much cheaper and better? Mercenary: My Setup: Act2 Merc Helm=Andy's with a Ral Armor=Fortitude Weapon=Pride (General gameplay) Option= Reapers Toll (I use this for Trav to keep my merc alive) Act5 mercs with the rework allow us to get really creative with lawbringer/last wish set ups. This is the way I would go if I wanted to run Grief/Death and Tele around more. Probably the coolest thing about a Frenzy barb is that there are SO many viable combos, and even custom set-ups based on where your farming or what your target mob types are. I keep 3-4 different set-ups in my stash to switch to based on what I'm doing at that time. Love to see my favorite build getting love in D2R! Have a great day! Quick Edit: Personally I split my stats up a little different Vit=Enough that after BO my life is around 2600. Dex=usually want this around 200ish just for the bonus hit chance Str=stat dump. Over 300 str at this point for the %based damage increase (why my Travs give me just a bit better overall damage at P8 over Gores.)
Glad you mentioned the Lawbringer. To me that weapon is the only one you should be wearing in your offhand; it simply provides so much to the build through both its Sactuary Aura (all undead units are now super easy to kill) and the Decrepify (everything is slowed, deals less damage and takes more damage). Pretty much been using this exact same setup on my Barbarian.
I am thinking about starting Season 7 with a Frenzy-MF Barbarian where you'd only put 10 points into Double Swing (just to make it cost 0 mana) and just 1 point into Taunt as Frenzy Synergies. Since the skill-damage bonus from Frenzy is added additively, the added enhanced damage from adding more points into Double Swing and Taunt does not seem that beneficial to me at only 8% Offhand-damage per Skill Point. Say you end up with: 200 Str which gives 200% damage, Level 25 Frenzy with some Synergy points for 300% damage, Pride on your merc with level 19 Concentration aura for 300% damage, Level 26 Might from level 90 merc for 290% damage. You end up with about +1100% Off-weapon Enhanced Damage. Putting 10 more points into Double Swing and an other 20 into Taunt would thereby only increase your Off-weapon Enhanced Damage from 1100% to 1340% which is a 22% damage increase (0.7% damage increase per Skill Point). You could even opt out of putting any points into Double Swing since that would only lower your Off-Weapon Enhanced Damage by 7% but freeing yet and other 9 Skill Points. These percentages do not take into account added bonusses from items like Laying of Hands (350% ED versus Demons) or the bonus Lawbringer's Sanctuary (ca. 630% ED versus Undead) which lowers the synergy bonusses from adding points into Double Swing/Taunt even more. Thoughts?
i personally use frenzy barb with grief last wish ogre gloves , nosferatus highlords raven frost with bk ring and instead of a cham in arreats i put 15max15ias with double hotos on swap for prebuff and of course u prebuff with demon club for massive attack rating and you are ready
way better for p8 with beast death ba and forty and crafted gloves, pride might merc with gface, 1 point grim ward and maxed potions for synergy (-monsters phys res on hell goes from 50 to -100 which means triple dmg), also maxed stamina (12sec speed bonus), 1 point berserk, bo with cta + hoto. frenzy synergy is crap, 40 points for 320ed when u already have about 1500
My current Frenzy Barb goes with Grief & Lawbringer (to deal with those pesky phys immunes), G. Face, Duress & Gore Riders (for that sweet CB, OW & DS) with LoH & String of Ears. Goes ham pretty well
Same..recently Uber D has spawned about 8-9 times in the past week and I have 8 brand new Annis(gave one away as I'm not trade greedy....yet)....one point into Berzerk for the Phys immunes and now he's my official pit runner as well, and anything else I need him for...he also has a strong Hork skill at 74% chance(full WC skillers with one Gheed's)....zero regerts man
Dual wizard spike off hand + fcr ring will give you 110 fcr break point. If you can find an fcr ring with leech/res you're all set. This goes for any barb build. Teleporting and horking is super fast.
I use a Lawbringer on the second hand. 20% chance for Level 15 decrepify takes off phisical immunity, you also get a lot of fire and cold damage and you automaticly knock back undead dudes.
Lawbringer is goated but it looks like this build focuses on zero cold damage and high % find item. I don't really bother with that on frenzy barb. Lawbringer plus grief, fortitude, pride might merc.
I'm trying to build a budget lvl.92 uber barb. I found out that 136 AR GC may be a much better choice than the 14/76 GC because the hit improves very much.
Personally i prefer grief + last wish (life tap, fade, huge cb, might aura, mf), fortitude (no-brainer), arreat's, highlord/atma's, LoH, wartravs (already have 70% cb from LW), dual leech ring + BK/Raven (depending on belt). For belt i switch between dungo's, tgods and trang's belt (cbf source). Tgods is what i am using the most since i get 90 light. Res in combination with fortitude. This let's me solo all content and helps A LOT vs souls. Dual griefs are nice and all but i just find i get clapped easy if i run into nasty mana burn mini bosses. With last wish i never die due to aforementioned procs. Merc is a1 with faith for fana aura (dmg + ar boost) plus it helps a lot when i am cursed (decrep) or chilled. I tried using with using zerker axes as well (grief, LW, Beast), but the constant repair was a deal breaker for me. I have around 125 mf with above setup when i run around and that is good enough. On switch i have hoto + 6ist'ed CS (180mf) for horking. He's a beast.
mmm yes and you made last wish with runes you found yourself? ;) the number of legit last wish is like 7 online. You do not need that stuff to solo content in players 1 games
Nice. Do you lose a lot of damage not using fort? Would a pride merc give a lot more damage and just use berserker skill when needed? Or even a phys saunder? :)
it is pretty easy to check the numbers in a damage calculator yourself regarding pride/fortitude. Decrep is against a mob that has 50% phys res an immediate doubling of dps for instance. Enigma always makes total run time faster unless you farm stuff that you can walk to in 3 seconds. Another reason is to position merc for decrep. Phys saunder is not needed, remember that frenzy barbs has shit phys res and is not as tanky as you think. Even with 5k health they are quite a glass cannon.
@@malawigw If you use/combine Treachery and String of Ears you get up to 30% phys resistance, 60% all res, 80% curse reduction and some Life Leach which is pretty neat from using just 2 items.

Right now I am: - Level 39 - Strength 60 - Dexterity 40 - Vitality 187 - Energy 16 There are some bonus points due to the rune words in my gear. As for skills: - Mace mastery 9 - Frenzy 12 Can you advise me how to distribute the skill points when I hit nightmare so that I can go through it without hitting the wall? I made this build with a tutorial and I am going very slow for now and it works fine so I want to make sure that I'll beat nightmare too.
Nightmare isn't that big a wall. The transition from Nightmare into Hell is the big one! Try to farm yourself at least a Treachery Armor before heading there! You can also try to get yourself a 3OS and a 6OS Phase Blade to make yourself a Lawbringer Sword and an Unbending Will Sword; though you should only use those once you are a bit higher level since you'll need 136 Dexterity to equip those. If you like to play solo; don't go into Hell before you are level 70-75! It makes your Hell experience a LOT better!
Have not yet gotten myself a Grief and I don't have that big a budget so I am rocking an Unbending Will with the Lawbringer which works like a Charm! Also a Treachery... Hell is decently doable for only 3 Lem runes on a Frenzy Barb.
Yeah, I levelled a Frenzy Barb once but got bored with it and it wasn't working so well by the time I finished Hell difficulty. Switched to Whirlwind and found it a lot more effective.
Ive been playing a frenzy barb on hardcore ladder for weeks now its been a lot of fun. Still using dual unbending wills and havent found anything great yet but its been solo self found on ladder hes level 88 now
My last barb hc, was fort, death, ebotd zerkers, atmas scarab for that amp proc and i only put 3 points frenzy, 17 into stamina and maxed ww, bo and axe mastery. Also go g face for melee, unless your critical strike and crushing blow are capped, u go g face. The damage out put is just too good. And i wear string of ears or tgods. Raven and a dual leach ring. And charms i go all res gcs
Switch helm for Nightwings, equip dual voice of reasons, conviction merc, and pack a cold sunder, then you shoot frozen orbs like a madman. It's hilarious.
I built a frenzy barb with grief and breath of the dying. He's a fun demolition maniac, but the only thing I hate is, he runs too fast, it gives me a headache.
why is the strenght so low? :'( you can totally go with 3k life udner bo and push the str highter and highter :p it give even better result that's even one of the few char when you can push the str and get something good out of it ^^ also beast is an amazing option, a better one with a slight - being the repair issue ^^, for the belt a craft with ow and so on there rly is a list of other option some jsut being .. better if i may :/
I’m having trouble with the hierophants in Trav healing the council members. Is there a fix for this besides running around before and killing them all? The runs are taking a while because I have to find them and kill them.
I played frenzy barb on normal difficulty. I keep missing a lot of hits. I put strength and dex for equipment while the rest into vitality. Does this mean my dex is still low? Am I under equipped?
I have made over 600 videos. It's possible. But also they have re-balance some skill and synergies about a year ago. So older guide wont be completely accurate anymore.
death ba + botd ba (or grief ba + lastwish ba), 2 hotos on swap, halaberd, highlord, forti, 20ias 10cb blood gloves, goldwrap, goreriders, ravenfrost, ar dualleech ring, max frenzy synergies + 10 stamina. stash for ar/life charms. barb merc with lawbringer + hustle, forti + vampiregaze. that's endgame frenzy.
The moment I hear those damned Dolls I instantly stop attacking and only use Leap and Howl to scare everything away just so I don't accidently kill myself.

I dont understand why i have so low damage. But i have one theory and i hope its not true! My question is: 90% monsters in hell have FIRE RESISTANCE. that icon above name monster fire u know. And quaestion is, i have two DJINN SLAYER ATAGHAN with 250-500fire damage. So i have low damage to this monsters BECAUSE I HEAL HIM? I HEAL MONSTERS WITH FIRE DAMAGE WHEN MONSTER HAVE FIRE RESISTANCE??? because i saw it, when i hire ICE mercenary, AND THAT FOOL HEAL ICE RESISTANCE MONSTERS WITH ICE BLAST. 😮 so HEAL I FIRE RESISTANT MONSTER WIITH THAT 500 FIRE DAMAGE ATAGHAN?????? true but grim ward only works on trash mobs and those you should kill in 0,2 seconds anyway.

it is pretty easy to check the numbers in a damage calculator yourself regarding pride/fortitude. Decrep is against a mob that has 50% phys res an immediate doubling of dps for instance. Enigma always makes total run time faster unless you farm stuff that you can walk to in 3 seconds. Another reason is to position merc for decrep. Phys saunder is not needed, remember that frenzy barbs has shit phys res and is not as tanky as you think. Even with 5k health they are quite a glass cannon.
@@malawigw If you use/combine Treachery and String of Ears you get up to 30% phys resistance, 60% all res, 80% curse reduction and some Life Leach which is pretty neat from using just 2 items.
I always played Frenzy barb as a kid, never liked going slow with the other builds

Hey, man! Thank you for that video! I am about to hit nightmare with Frenzy barbarian. Right now I am:
- Level 39
- Strength 60
- Dexterity 40
- Vitality 187
- Energy 16
There are some bonus points due to the rune words in my gear. As for skills:
- Mace mastery 9
- Frenzy 12
Can you advise me how to distribute the skill points when I hit nightmare so that I can go through it without hitting the wall? I made this build with a tutorial and I am going very slow for now and it works fine so I want to make sure that I'll beat nightmare too.
Nightmare isn't that big a wall.
The transition from Nightmare into Hell is the big one!
Try to farm yourself at least a Treachery Armor before heading there!
You can also try to get yourself a 3OS and a 6OS Phase Blade to make yourself a Lawbringer Sword and an Unbending Will Sword; though you should only use those once you are a bit higher level since you'll need 136 Dexterity to equip those.
If you like to play solo; don't go into Hell before you are level 70-75! It makes your Hell experience a LOT better!
I love Grief + Lawbringer for half budget build
Have not yet gotten myself a Grief and I don't have that big a budget so I am rocking an Unbending Will with the Lawbringer which works like a Charm!
Also a Treachery... Hell is decently doable for only 3 Lem runes on a Frenzy Barb.
My barb uses Beast and Grief. A5 merc with grief and last wish. Very fun build with Berserk and Frenzy/WW. Also switch to do horking.
I am too much of a fan of my WW barb to switch but this is an interesting build for sure
Yeah, I levelled a Frenzy Barb once but got bored with it and it wasn't working so well by the time I finished Hell difficulty. Switched to Whirlwind and found it a lot more effective.
Use Atmas Scarab amu for Physical immun Monsters. With the high attack speed you trigger Ampfly damage very often
Ive been playing a frenzy barb on hardcore ladder for weeks now its been a lot of fun. Still using dual unbending wills and havent found anything great yet but its been solo self found on ladder hes level 88 now
I up'ed and um'ed.a duriels shell for max res and cannot be frozen, works quite well
My last barb hc, was fort, death, ebotd zerkers, atmas scarab for that amp proc and i only put 3 points frenzy, 17 into stamina and maxed ww, bo and axe mastery. Also go g face for melee, unless your critical strike and crushing blow are capped, u go g face. The damage out put is just too good. And i wear string of ears or tgods. Raven and a dual leach ring. And charms i go all res gcs
My preferred option is FOH in chaos 😅

Switch helm for Nightwings, equip dual voice of reasons, conviction merc, and pack a cold sunder, then you shoot frozen orbs like a madman. It's hilarious.

I built a frenzy barb with grief and breath of the dying. He's a fun demolition maniac, but the only thing I hate is, he runs too fast, it gives me a headache.
Angelics is the only option. Ammy and TWO rings
why is the strenght so low? :'( you can totally go with 3k life udner bo and push the str highter and highter :p it give even better result
that's even one of the few char when you can push the str and get something good out of it ^^
also beast is an amazing option, a better one with a slight - being the repair issue ^^, for the belt a craft with ow and so on there rly is a list of other option some jsut being .. better if i may :/
I’m having trouble with the hierophants in Trav healing the council members. Is there a fix for this besides running around before and killing them all? The runs are taking a while because I have to find them and kill them.

Try Frenzied WW, idk why nobody else besides me but I never WW without having procd frenzy. Regular ww alone is so slow

Using hero editor to make a fake char that in no way reflects reality for most of players ruins the purpose.
Barely anyone playing casually solo can afford dual hoto, dual greif or enigma.
You could probably reach the same performance at a tenth of the cost with more cost efficient items and better strategy

I played frenzy barb on normal difficulty. I keep missing a lot of hits. I put strength and dex for equipment while the rest into vitality. Does this mean my dex is still low? Am I under equipped?

I have made over 600 videos. It's possible. But also they have re-balance some skill and synergies about a year ago. So older guide wont be completely accurate anymore.

death ba + botd ba (or grief ba + lastwish ba), 2 hotos on swap, halaberd, highlord, forti, 20ias 10cb blood gloves, goldwrap, goreriders, ravenfrost, ar dualleech ring, max frenzy synergies + 10 stamina. stash for ar/life charms. barb merc with lawbringer + hustle, forti + vampiregaze. that's endgame frenzy.

I like to level with this build. Murder against undead dolls though.
The moment I hear those damned Dolls I instantly stop attacking and only use Leap and Howl to scare everything away just so I don't accidently kill myself.

Hey good day to you. I need help, you look understand all mechanics in game. So please explain me this because i am confused. I play barb double swing on dif hell. Its extreme hard now. I dont understand why i have so low damage. But i have one theory and i hope its not true! My question is: 90% monsters in hell have FIRE RESISTANCE. that icon above name monster fire u know. And quaestion is, i have two DJINN SLAYER ATAGHAN with 250-500fire damage. So i have low damage to this monsters BECAUSE I HEAL HIM? I HEAL MONSTERS WITH FIRE DAMAGE WHEN MONSTER HAVE FIRE RESISTANCE??? because i saw it, when i hire ICE mercenary, AND THAT FOOL HEAL ICE RESISTANCE MONSTERS WITH ICE BLAST. 😮 so HEAL I FIRE RESISTANT MONSTER WIITH THAT 500 FIRE DAMAGE ATAGHAN?????? FK I HOPE NO. I hope u understan me im from europe slovakia. Thanx for yout time
i mean im using my barb for dmg not mf got a sorc that does that, dont get the mf on every char unless you just use the one char for ladder

Same here. I did many Trav runs with my Frenzy Barb but didn't get much. I got a lot more doing Mephisto runs with my Cold Sorc.

how is hero editor flexing? Two perfect rolled griefs. Hero editor deluxe. Still, a naked hammerdin will outperform this build. Barbarians sucks. Druids too.
If you’re gonna have so much perfect gear at least use blood gloves
umm 2 griefs is just old and boring , death and last wish, if you can't afford the last wish then death and grief, dual is grief is just dumb

Honestly putting 4 points into Increased Stamina for extra 2 seconds for Frenzy is totally worth it, IMO
Also, a 1 point wonder into Battle Cry is nothing to sneeze at - especially when killing bosses, due to massively reducing their defense
