Had such a van for a family vehicle. it had okay power and awesome breaks (cause of the load capacity). If the thing was empty it was real fun to drive. Full it was just a great workhorse for any task
I laughed my head off when Mark launched that thing. Then I snorted coffee out my nose when he said his kid was flicking boogers in class. I get the whole stigma about minivans. I used to be the guy who looked down at them. Then my wife got one, because we have two kids. If there's an SUV that has seats that fold into the floor, I haven't seen it. You can throw an air bed in the back and camp with it. I can tow a snowmobile trailer with it. I can haul wallboard or plywood in it. I've had five kids in the back with movies playing for them on a long road trip. Not a peep from the brats. anything I've asked of that thing, it has done. The Pentastar engine has been solid for 126,000 miles with the exception of a bad alternator. Mileage is not unreasonable for a vehicle that weighs this much. If you're reasonably restrained on the highway, you can get 30mpg. Around town expect 19.
My brother has been working in car sales for 10+ years, gets to drive pretty much anything but has stuck with a Kia Carnival. Loves it; does everything a 7-seat SUV does without being dopey or obnoxious or difficult to park.
When I started watching Savagegeese, I had moderate to severe plaque psoriasis and a receding hairline. Those things haven't changed, but the content is pretty good.
Have owned several Chrysler vans over the years and never had any reliability issues with them. Currently own a 2020 S in the same color. These have been great vans for us to carry our dogs. Averaging 23mpg in cold of Chicago.
My last three Chrysler minivans, each had over 170k before I got rid of them. I have owned a total of 8 Chrysler minivans, and I have never had a major issue with any of them. My newish Pacifica Touring- L is a huge leap beyond my previous vans, and I find myself comparing fit, finish and material selections with my new 540ix. Now if they would put the velvet drivetrain of the 540Ix into this van I would definately be singing "Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner!"
Great video. I have a 2017 and it's a good car, but with some faults. I agree with your thoughts on the metal on the steering wheel. Even heated, it's freezing in the winter. But most disconcerting is having to work with Chrysler's service department. I have had electrical issues from day one. I still have them because they said at the dealer, "we can't replicate the fault and there's no codes coming up". They are awful to deal with. I had an old Town and Country that was great. One thing Chrysler took away was the ability for the second row seats to slide back and forth because of the new hinge design. Not ideal when you're tall. I'm getting rid of mine, and had considered the new 2021, but I had a look at the new Sienna, and it blows the Pacifica out of the water for comfort. And the second row seats slide way back. It also has buttons on the dash for heated seats, etc, which is much easier than going through the screen. I've always wondered why FCA is the only car group to not have a sync button on the dash for the heating. It's a nightmare trying to open up the rear air con controls through the screen when you're driving, if nobody else is in the van and you want to turn the heat down. It's the small things that you live with that ruin the car, and IMO, the Pacifica needs more physical buttons like the Sienna has.
I have many road trip memories in a Minivan. If I needed an everyday hauler it would be one of these. They are very useful and better than an SUV for me.
Yeah I fought the whole minivan thing for a long time and once you get one they're so incredibly practical it's ridiculous. They'll do pretty much everything else any other vehicle will do and better or close enough like obviously you can't stand up a fridge in the back of a minivan but you could sure lay one down, You can fit full 4x8 sheets of plywood and on and on and on unbelievably practical vehicles and the sliding doors prevent your kids from swinging the door out into other vehicles in the parking lot
Best van I’ve had. I can cruise at 100-110 and its so quiet and smooth that wife doesn’t even open her eyes to yell at me to slow down. Sometimes the shifts stalls a little then slaps you in the face mostly when cold. Otherwise I have 150k miles on my 2017 and have done nothing but oil changes and wiper blades
My wife's boyfriend is always making fun of me for my minivan saying it's uncool. I finally showed him he was wrong by sending him this video. Thank god I subscribed to this channel.
The gearbox explanation is spot on! I've been driving a 2019 or 2020 Pacifica and a similar Voyager, and the transmission makes me confused sometimes, but it can go like stink when it wants, and it's a pretty awesome van.
For a mini van, it's a good looking vehicle. The concern with any Chrysler product is......will it hold-up? A Sierra or an Odyssey is usually a "safer" choice for most of us.
That intro made my day, I fucking love this channel ahahaha. Never change guys, you are the most subtle, yet most professional, most funny, you guys are the best "all-rounders" of the CZcams car community lol

This is a great video I was laughing like a madman😂, I have an 05 Chrysler T&C Limited, I’m 2nd owner had 28k miles when we bought it and now got 263k. I love this minivan, to us it’s one of the most reliable cars we’ve had over the years, I just keep up the normal maintenance and avoid going to the dealership. I believe we will be upgrading to the AWD Pacifica after this one dies.
I’ve got an 05 Pacifica that I bought brand new. I’ve got 188k on the clock and never had a problem with it. I maintained it well and it just keeps going and still rides better than most suvs out there. It won’t die so I just keep driving it. Doesn’t hurt that I’ve got the dreaded e92 M3 for fun.
The 3.6 pentastar has been a mainstay in Chrysler's lineup since 2011. Reliable engine and a breath of fresh air when everyone else is using 4 cylinder turbos. It says a lot about an engine when it's used in both transverse fwd setups and longitudinal rwd setups.
@@mpsangha Well the Chrysler 2.7 was used in transverse and longitudinal set ups also and remember how awesome that motor was lol ,, The 3.6 it's just not as awful, it does have a few issues but nothing too major

Ah, minivans. One of the cars I was most familiar with driving growing up was our family's Mazda MPV. It was a boat, but with the 3.0L V6, surprisingly fun to give it a boot.
Bought my 2013 T&C used in 2015. Now have 90k mi. Zero issues. Changed tires and brakes. I'm a single guy and love my van. I've slept in the back while camping, moved a few times, did Uber a bit. It's utterly practical. It gets 30mpg on flat hwy driving. Mileage around town does kinda suck at 17-20mpg. But the Stow N Go makes up for that. I have my eye on this AWD version.
Been driving Grand Caravans for years working in the funeral industry. We have two 2019s and I often use them as my daily during the winter months because my Miata's window seals leak on both sides. And it's just not great getting into it in the cold with no heated seats or steering wheel. Friday I pick up our new AWD Pacifica in black with the sport package. As a car guy I never thought I'd look foreword so much to owning a new Mini van.
About two months ago you reviewed the new Sienna. I drove one and it was a dog. Beautiful build, but way underpowered and the CVT was stoopid!! I miss the old 3.5. Toyota phucd up. Hopefully the new Pacifica AWD has more Zoom. By the way, Sienna and Odyssey sales are way down. If you have to haul kids or lots of people or stuff, the Pacifica is the way to go. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than the Sienna. Early Goose gets the worm!
Just woke up, made a smoothie and sat down to watch this. I'm only 29 seconds in, but I'm confident I've made the right choice in watching probably my 5th review of this minivan, which i will never buy. Come for the cars, stay for the production.
I dont have kids or care about this car in any capacity . . . . . . . . . but this is Mark performing at PEAK ALPHA MALE and is my favorite review so far.
I love how this van turns Mark into a madman for some reason. I remember one of your earlier videos when you were driving around doing burnouts everywhere! Lmao
The hesitation or torque holding between shifts could be the dog clutches used in the ZF 9 speed. During the 4-5 upshift and the 8-9 upshift dog clutches have to be electronically synchronized before they engage so that is why you will notice a pause when going up or down through those gears.
I don't know what it is about down here in the south, but I've never had the reliability problems with FCA vehicles. I just sold a journey with 195K miles on it, the worst thing that happened was the alternator kicked the bucket.
I test drove a 2022 Pacifica Hybrid two weeks ago. My immediate surprise was that I wasn't comfortable in the drivers chair. Made no sense to me. It's a minivan...shouldn't this feel amazing and plush? Anyone else have issues with the drivers chair feeling too firm and unpleasant? I almost walked out of there with the Pacifica if it weren't for the seat being so uncomfortable. I think it was the Limited or Touring trim. Do you have to go to a higher trim to get a comfy seat? The insane space of it all, the practicality of what you can load in the back, the low floor height to load things, the automatic doors everywhere...it's just such a practical vehicle. Too bad the seat sucked for the 10 min I was in it. Went with a Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV instead as I still want a PHEV.
I really love the effort made here. looks really well developed but I don't know if it's enough to break the Toyota inertia. I just can't help but worry about that longer-term reliability.
