Fomfom is a local food and mainly loved by the people of western region - Ghana. It a corn food and it similar to banku but with different process. Enjoy and kindly subscribe to the channel and turn on the notification bell for more videos.

Surely they can mix it up with a bread kneading machine.. Our local artisans can make a mixer. Even if it is manual operated.. Mixing this hot stuff with hands is not ideal. But well done to her.. Respect to our Ghana women.. 👍🏾👍🏾

The process isn't that long. It because she sells so she does it in large quantity
It's understandable because Fomfom is not for the Fantis. It's a traditional food for Ahantas and Nzemas in the western region.

In Caribbean there is a variation of this but it is sweet and not pounded. It is called Conkies, the banana leaves are also used.

I always enjoy see food from my ancestral home. In Caribbean we make a dish call Conkie made with corn,pumpkin,sweet potato an other spices an wrap in banana leaves just like how this lady did hers an steam just the same way. The only thing we don't have it with fish we eat it just like that.
