Okra soup is not a foreign food. Is also originated from the Gambia and well cooked by the Creo's and the Aku Marabou's🇬🇲🇬🇲

So the white thing they are describing to you is the potash. That is what they use in making the soap. Also, shea butter can be added along with palm oil in certain proportions to get an even richer black soap. For those who cannot tolerate the harshness of the raw soap, the pH can be adjusted with citric acid to make it suitable for sensitive skins. The harshness is because the soap is alkaline in nature and that is what gives it those antibacterial properties.
Why is everyone calling it raw? It's cooked in a handful of ways in its preparation.

One of my favourites. I recently prepared the cereal for this dish. However i found the mill on my domestic blender didnt do a great job, so we had to sift the powder for it to be fine and absorbent enough. But once we got there it was delicious, minus crabs 😂. Ɔrɛkɔdo !!!
