2020 ZH2 update. It’s faster than you think

  • This is my post break in update on my 2020 ZH2. It got cut off and the end. Which was good, because it was basically me farting for 20 seconds and then crying about the last episode of Friends. Things I forgot to say.... I like shifting using the clutch vs. the quick shifter because it makes that cool waste gate flutter. The front end will get light at 100mph using throttle only. (In Mexico). The type 2 dash setting is still gimmicky but looks cool. Type 1 provides more information.

    "nobody knows what this is" you sound dissapointed., this is a good thing, this is why i would even keep it quiet. nothing would feel better than to humiliate someone on a hayabusa or zx14 than riding a bike that looks like a z09 lol
    It's kind of like when I ride my concours 14 and destroy someone on a SS 600 , their look of denial and amazement that a quiet old person bike just beat them is hillarious

    I’ve been running the same bike for over 12 months, if you run over 8,000 rpm you’ll get nearer 20 mpg you’re lucky if you hit 110 per tank.
    Put other than that it’s awesome, I can think of another bike this good at circa 15 k uk pounds .
    I put the Puig end mirrors and puig super sports screen really looks a lot better, also have the scorpion end can on.
    With the baffle out it’s too loud.

    Thankfully Brock's Performance and Guhl motors will be working out an ECU flash before long. So you won't have to deal with the 'low power' of sub 200 hp anymore. :P H2SX makes over 240 at the wheel with slip-on, filter, and ECU flash.

  • @blipco5
    @blipco5 Před 4 lety

    The wet wright of the Z H2 is less than the wet weight of my zrx1200, which is 540 pounds (full tank) and I have no problems hustling it around curvy country backroads. I had the suspension modified. It's no sport bike but it ain't bad either.
    I'm sure the extra weight that the Z H2 carries will help stabilize it on the highway at higher speeds, so it's good for something it would have been nice to have it's wet weight come in under 500 but changing the exhaust will help a bit.
    I have a 460 lb wet weight z900 and it tends to get blown around in crosswinds at high highway speeds.

    • @forrysc
      @forrysc  Před 4 lety

      blipco5 It’s interesting you say that. I’m actually a fan of bike weight. For the exact reasons you mentioned . Heft might be a detriment in the track, but it pays some dividends on the street. Ride quality, suspension, and stability seem to be better on bikes that carry a little more weight.

    • @blipco5
      @blipco5 Před 4 lety

      forrysc ...I rode my ZRX cross country. 10,700 in one trip with a 52 liter Givi top box. It was very stable at highway speeds including some long stints well over triple digits. I'm not a speed demon but I felt very comfortable even at 140 on the speedo. I would not have wanted to try that on my z900.
      I'm interested and tempted by the Z H2 but being a mature practical man I know I can't use the power. That thing will dominate everywhere it goes.

      AK Aquatics I sold it to a friend. I would have waited and just bought the ZH2. I didn’t know how easy it would be to find a ZH2, my insurance quoted at the time I bought the Ninja was more than double for the ZH2. My local dealer had this bike on the floor and had it marked down $1700
      off MSRP . I called and got a quote for full coverage insurance and it was exactly the same as the Ninja 1000. Things kind of fell in to place when my buddy loved my Ninja 1000 after riding it.

    @forrysc, thank you very much for your awesome video. I was debating between buying a super duke R or this one. I just put a deposit for this bike after watching your video. I have one question though, this bike surprisingly doesn't come with a steering damper out of factory, have you experienced any issues because of not having a steering damper? Can one be added to the bike later? And why Kawasaki didn't put one in in the first place. Most other liter class naked bikes come with steering damper.

      @forrysc  Před 4 lety +2

      Road Revz between the zh2 and ktm, there is no wrong decision. Those two bikes are so stratospherically beyond the limits of even a good street rider, its like asking what’s the best way to kill ants. Machine gun or flame thrower? I had a few issues with my KTM that would cause a fault in the display. But it ever affected my ability to ride it. I had 10,000 miles on my ktm though and only 800 on my Z. Both bikes are incredible, but if you are looking for a top end rush the Z has it in spades.

      The superduke has more leg room and Is a little roomier overall. I’m 5’10” with a 31 inch inseam, and I have room to move around on the ZH2. The Superduke is so thin though. ESP at the tank. The zh2 splays your legs more.

      @forrysc  Před 4 lety

      Flyingsangwich the ride on the zh2 is a lot stiffer. The ninja 1000 is very plush. Gas mileage on the ninja was really good. Both sit very similar in fashion. I think the ninja 1000 handles a little more stable but both handle well.

    • @forrysc
      @forrysc  Před 4 lety

      willraven7 it’s pretty well isolated from the rider. Kawasaki in the last few years has done a great job of keeping the rider isolated from any buzziness. Some inline 4 cylinders made today are not as smooth. The Honda inline 650 for instance.

    How do you like this compared to the Superduke?

    • @forrysc
      @forrysc  Před 4 lety +2

      I love the Super duke. Apart from this, it's the craziest bike Ive ever owned or ridden. The motor on the superduke is an absolute gem. it makes power everywhere. The chassis is great, the suspension has miles of travel. And it still has that KTM weirdness. The ZH2 is a Japanese bike through and through. If you ride around at part throttle, it's a Z1000. It's smooth, it's predictable, and it's probably going to be stone reliable. It's also an inline 4. Some people prefer that, but frankly it's not a motor with a ton of character at low speeds with mild throttle. The KTM is a twin, and twins have that appeal no matter what speed you ride at. Once you open up the H2R, it's still an inline 4, but it feels like its bending space and time.....so by virtue of the performance it offers, it's pretty awesome.

      @@forrysc I have a 2019 Superduke. I love the instant torque, in any gear. Definitely the most fun bike I've had. I had a 990 superduke, it was fun but not like the 1290. I had zx10r with a flashed ecu and that was stupid fast. I also had a 2010 z1000 with a flashed ecu and it totally transformed the bike. That was fun too, but nothing like the Superduke. I like the instant wheelie power. The zh2 is appealing and a powerhouse after ecu flash and tuning.

    • @forrysc
      @forrysc  Před 4 lety +1

      It's not bad. The Z line for Kawasaki tends to sit you down in the bike with a lower seat and high gas tank. That offers more wind protection than Yamaha and Honda due to the fact you sit more on top of those bikes. The Suzuki GSXS is kind of in between the two.

    • @forrysc

      Robert Ornelas my main reason for changing out the exhaust is not for more sound. It’s cosmetic. A little more sound would be nice, I prefer quiet motorcycles. Especially with inline 4s. Vtwin and v4 bikes I like a little louder, but still I prefer something that isn’t loud. I’ve listened to H2s with exhaust systems and the supercharger is still very audible.
