    Personally, R9 was the best all-around striker to ever play. However, I never got to see Pele play live, but I was able to watch R9 in his prime and no one, not even today's top strikers, are doing what he used to do to defenders and goalkeepers alike.

      That style of play where it looks like a gym floor that they're playing on is called Futsal. It's a bit different from regular football or even indoor soccer. How it's different? Well first off, the game is played on a gym floor as you can see, but what makes it different from indoor is that in Futsal they use a ball that is much smaller and more weighted, so that the ball does not bounce as much and it will stay on the floor for most of the game. Why is this significant? Because most players who have grown up playing Futsal at a young age have been honing their foot skills and their touches on the ball since the game is heavily based on passing and skill moves, where as regular football encompasses the whole side of the game, and indoor soccer will mainly focus on the fitness side of the game.

    • @y0ink_fps
      @y0ink_fps Před 2 lety +2

      Unfortunately, this has to be said. I don't know if it was Internazionale's decision to play Ronaldo in that game or if it was his decision, but I believe that they both came to an agreement for him to play that day. The club wanted him to play, but didn't want him to injure himself further. Ronaldo, being asked if he felt fit to play, was never going to say no to playing. He loves the game too much to watch from the sidelines. I don't think it was anyone's fault as to what happened to him in that match or there after. I think it was just a man's desire to play the game he loved and a club wanting to see there star player play against one of the league rivals at the time, Lazio.

    • @y0ink_fps
      @y0ink_fps Před 2 lety

      Last thing that I will note. R9 played for both Barcelona and Real Madrid. If any other player were to have done that now a days or even in the past, one side would HATE that player for playing for their rivals, which is regarded as one of, if not, the greatest rivalries in football history. However, R9 was not hated by anyone, he was just simply loved for being who he was. Same thing can be said with the biggest rivalry in Italy, Internazionale and AC Milan.

    Most skilled player that ever played the game, my favourite player of all time. Pelé and Maradona already said that only if he didn't get injured, he would probably be the GOAT. What most people don't see is that his super fast dribbling at top speed, requiring explosive direction changes, is what led him to the injuries. Until this day, no one has been able to show that kind of dribbling at such high speed. It was Ronaldo's gift, but also what led him to the injuries.

    Many people have said it before but Ronaldo really was the man. Lots of great players from that era but no one is really comparable. It's crazy to think that kids growing up in rural parts of northern Sweden knew and loved him. You'll hear the same story from every country where they play football. The crazy thing is, back in the day, they only really got to see him on TV every 4 years during the World Cups! That's how magical he was.

    That was a great reaction. It was nice to see you two so emotionally invested in his story despite not having witnessed it or even had ever a proper reaction to him. (I say that as someone who found following R9 through the years a really emotional, esp when he had that "come-back-injury" and all the world said he'd never come back again. Thankfully he proved them wrong.) If you dig deeper it gets even crazier with the bad luck, the vid kinda skips over the loss to France in the 98-world cup, but for mysterious reasons to this very day he had a random seizure-esque episode on the day of the final. He also skipped over the fact R9 has won two Copa Americas, named best player and being the top scorer respectively in those runs.

    This is why so many Brazilians have injury problems in their 20’s as many start so young, they’ve already played twice as many games than most in Europe by the time they’re in their late teens. Its causes a lot of wear and tear when they should be at their peak forcing many into early retirement.
