A lot of people hate doing doors, it's one of my favorite things to do

It’s pretty satisfying when you get the doors running smooth.

Door equipment hall, cab, & operator issues are the cause of a lot of callouts. When I did new equipment adjusting and mod I always spent as much time as necessary to adjust them the best I could.

I never knew about the "beak" that keeps the slow door panel from falling away. Great explanation!

Thanks. There’s a couple different ways of doing it but these ones are user friendly.

Always neat to see the insides of these things. It’s cool, every elevator equipment company has their own version and no two are exactly alike (to my knowledge). Neat video

Thanks. I agree everyone has made a small change or tweak to make it their own.

Hi mate, in my opinion GAL Equipment is the best , especially to work on, and definitely on resident buildings , it’s great to hear what other engineers in other countries call stuff, like you call it a clutch and we say skate .

I agree with the GAL parts. Thanks for watching, I love checking out what other mechanics use too.

If you work on an elevator with motorized vertical doors (freight elevator), I would be curious to see a video of the door operators.

I don’t have a freight with those doors.

Sorry I’m just seeing this, I really appreciate it! I have seen the inside of most of the newer Otis, but we have a ton of GAL on service as well. So cool you so the comment.

Those sill mounted closers are one of the main things I detest about GAL door equipment. They're just big bulky, high-maintenance contraptions. They are the only company that still does that. All others are using the cable pulley on telescopic doors.

We found that GAL door equipment is used in North American and Canada only independent contractors use it in the uk normally that is

I think they should probably be replaced, a lot of hanger roller now are sealed bearings.
