    If you just take out the upper control arm you can pull the whole strut out and do the job on a bench and rotate everything only take 1/2 hour as you don't need to disconnect the swag bar link or the steering rack

    How did you you rotate the strut after installing the spacer? Is it just a matter of put a screwdriver in the bolt hole and turning it

      hi mate. this all went pretty good. undid everything like in the video. i also ended up taking out the top wishbone which is 2 more bolts. this way i could pull out the whole shock to fit the spacer. much easier. .

    Completed lift a couple of weeks ago and had wheels realigned, how did you overcome camber issue? I also fitted ball joint spacers could this be the issue? Thanks

    @mdj193 Před 7 lety +4

    What did do about the lower bumpstops.....? Can you show a photo of the bumpstop gaps after fitting the spacers. Fitting strut spacers changes the geometry and you have a much bigger lower bumpstop gap and a reduced upper gap. Without fitting taller lower bumpstops you run the risk of bottoming out the shock. All you need to do is take a before and after photo to see the difference. You need to make people aware of this when fitting these spacers.

    Have u any spacers on the balljoints or anything? I have tried to put my 35mm strut spacers in and had a lot of bother getting them in but got them in and the drive pulled apart.. so took them back out I just see your drives seem to be sittin very straight compared to how mine was

    Thank you for the info. What is the difference between the used spacers and the ones that go between struts and coils?

    • @L663
      @L663  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi - the spacer that sits between the spring and the strut will do the same thing but there are some differences...
      1) they are harder to fit as you have to remove the spring to fit them ?
      2) the shock absorber travel is reduced as you are not moving the top of the shock absorber down.
      I am not really a pro expert at this truck lifting stuff so feel free to object / add comments

    When he measured the back the tape measure wasn't straight up and down, it was slightly diagonal so it probably only measured 37 or 38 inches

    To powerfulukltd, Sir are there any issues about the velocity joints of the front drive, will it not affect the immature wear and tear of the velocity joints in the front drive? And also if I will use extended shackle hangers for the leaf spring with 2 inches lift at the back will it affect the alignment of the propeller shaft going to the rear differential that may cause vibration during high speed? I will be very happy for your reply Sir and thank you, more power to you.

    • @L663
      @L663  Před 4 lety

      Hi Pedro - you are correct in that the angles of some of the joints will change - but these should be no problem unless you are doing high mileage.
