Its easier to make a cluster token by clicking on Account when you open DST. From there, it will open a tab where you will want to click on games, DST, and then add a server. You will not have to re create the cluster token each time then
Shaylyn Seminuk do you still need to copy the cluster token to the cluster_2 file as shown in step 13 or do you only need to copy the cluster file?
@@MP-vj1yx Copy the key from your personal account into the files. Replace the "default" with your key and save. Replace the server key generated in all your files with your account key.
And then what do I do with that token? What steps I need to take? I'm very confused. Also I wanted to host it at my home and not some random server, mine is throwing the server to a US where it never finishes connecting and I don't find the server at the list, and ping 180ms whereas if I used my home I'd have better ping. I just wanted this to enlarge max player size on beta world, since I didn't find a mod that works. I just want to increase max world size and I'm suffering T_T
when i click on download settings for the configure server part nothing happens no download comes out did i mess something up?
I'm quite confused, doing this step will give me a Server key or something like that, what do I do with it? Which steps do I need to do if I do this instruction instead of the one in the video? Can anyone help?

Hey , great video, but i have actually 2 problems.The first one is that when i join to the d.server i have to create a new character and i spawn in a whole new world. The second one is that i finished the server everything worked just fine , i turned off my pc.Next day(today) i wanted to play again but the server didnt find the cluster token.I had to make this whole process again.Im afraid of playing on this server cuz idk if it will be still there tomorrow.

My servers keep running as two completely different worlds with the same name and settings, what the hell? I followed the tutorial exactly and I'm stuck like this. They use ports 11000 and 11001, which are both open, 10999 is taken my a server I'm hosting for another game. I have two cmd's, one labelled overworld and the other caves. Both are just overworld servers with no caves though.
Edit: .....I forgot to enable caves on the world in Step 8...
me too. but mine are overworld and the other one is cave. they are seperated, acave and overworld. help pls

Ok so i know this is 1 year old. But dude there's like 6000 more servers. Ofcourse your friends are gonna have a hard time finding it.

Just create a world with mods on, like you normally would.

I forgot to mention in the video but whenever you close the server, you will need to create the cluster token again. 😇
I get my server in LAN as dedicated with 50-60 ping
In online my server don't show up. It appears only when searched. It doesn't show ping just ??? Instead
When i checked overworld cmd it showed inactive for a number of things and also connected to LAN. Whereas everything shows active in underworld

theres no "leveldataoverride.lua" or "modoverrides.lua" files coming up for me, as shown in 2:49

flip flop you can copy those .lua files from the world your created
where are those? also thanks so much for responding
flip flop remember the world that you created at around 1:20 (with cluster 1-2-3-4 or 5). You can find the .lua files you need in those cluster folders. It should be in the same place with the server.ini

I tried this but when I got to step 12 there wasn’t a cluster token in my file. Do I have to do this another way?
TheDerpehPandah there’s a comment below show how to get a permanent cluster token, you can try that 😼

Hi, when i did all, my selected mods were not on the server. There is something special to do for mods ? I already try to copy the two modoverides.lua in the good folder. Ty :)
yes, there is. you need to look for the new tutorial to get mods into the dedicated server. its not that easy to just copy that modoverides.lua. ive tried to follow the steam version of modding the dedicated serv but ive done something wrong and i now need to do all over it again
Does the dedicated server still work when I shut down my pc? or I have to keep the launch_preconfigured_servers.bat opened?

This is honestly such a fucking mess, can't believe this is still the only way to go about hosting a server with caves. God help you if you use a server rental and have to figure out how to do this remotely.

Can someone please explain the difference between a deticated server and a normal server in this game?
Normal server is run by someone and when they disconnected everyone is booted and the server closes, a dedicated server isnt run by someone and keeps running even when everyone is disconnected (although the days dont progress unless someone is in the game)

Don't have half the files you mention. Move on to another walk through this one wont get you to where you need to be.
