    Had my Titan for about 6 months now. It came with the new pedal tray design however I took it off drilled the base plate and mounted my pedals directly to it. I like my pedals closer to my seat and the height of the pedal tray meant my hands would brush against my knees when going through tight corners (I am 6ft tall). The wheel deck with a Simagic Alpha Mini at 10nm has never moved for me for anyone who is considering this rig. Overall a great rig for the price and super solid.

    Hi Danny, nice review! I've had my Titan rig for a few years now, and has served me pretty well. The old style pedal tray that I have is definitely the weak point even though I'm only using Fanatec V3's. For anyone interested, I see GT Omega now do a pedal slider baseplate for the Titan, which uses the new design you showed here, plus a slider mechanism for £80. Looks like this could be the answer to pedal flex on my rig.

    Great review, also from the perspective of a titan owner.
    I was quite surprised about the issues you were having with the wheel plate. Mine is rock solid with a T818 mounted on top and 10nm of torque.
    I'm courious at which price GTO will be selling the new pedal plate, it looks very promising and mine is still on the old design

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  Před rokem

      Thanks man, appreciate your input with your T818, too. The new pedal plate doesn't appear to have any affect on the price, it's just a redesign and not an added extra - The wheel plate issue is more about the amount of leverage your setup gives you over the wheeldeck as well as the torque - the DD1 shown in the video is 20nm and will almost certainly have a much longer steering column than the T818, so those two factors combined mean my setup has a lot of 'leverage', so to speak. Completely fixed with the new bolts, though!

    I have a Moza R9 with the Titan cockpit. What I did, to fix the initial movement, was much simpler than changing the nuts and bolts. I just fastened all four sets on each side, and it has been rock solid since. So, fasten the pivots too, it will be enough for the R9.

    I've experienced the issue with the wheel deck with Moza R9 + FSR wheel, but I really need to put excessive force on it which actually became a feature for me because I can adjust it without alan key lol, but I can see why for DD1 it would be way more problematic great suggestion to replace the bolts simple as going to the local hardware store.
    My only complain really is the squeaking of the seat I can't seem to fix the problem whenever I move the thing squeaks like it will fall apart... But overall and especially for the money I'd recommend this to everybody out there especially since you can even place any seat for example a bucket seat there without problems if that annoys you or someone else in the household..

    • @tdmdchannel2339
      @tdmdchannel2339 Před 3 měsíci

      I'm also hesitant between the Playseat Trophy & the Titan. I prefer these look over an aluminum rig. The Trophy is beautiful to look at and always available to buy but the Titan is out of stock since November here where I live (Canada).
      Titan has better adjustment in my opinion. Even the wheel base has more adjustment over the Trophy. The Trophy's wheel base is bigger, looks more solid and study but only has 1 rotating point. I've seen other people using the DD1 with the original bolt and nuts on the Titan with no issue. Good to know there is an easy fix if it becomes a problem over time. I'm only on a CSL DD (8nm). They now sell a new pedal tray with a slider for the Titan. So you can move the pedal backward and forward just like the seat. Fast adjustment is a key feature for me since every member in my family like racing and my wife is only 5'1.

    Any reason why you can't put a wooden batten (or 2) under the pedal plate to help rigidity? Plenty of space and fixing points to bolt the wood. Paint the wood black if you're worried about the aesthetics. And for the problem with bolts in the wheel base moving in the slots, why not just stick another bolt in the space that the original bolt is trying to move into?
    Fairly quick and simple DIY considering all you'll need is a tape measure, saw, drill, drill bits and something to tighten nuts and bolts.

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  Před 2 měsíci

      The titan's pedal plate is really good, so no real need to strengthen it. The wheel deck's movement trouble will only affect the higher end wheelbases with lots of leverage, and I reckon the cleanest/cheapest way to resolve that will be with alternative serrated flange bolts.

I'm also thinking of the playseat trophy. But i think it is smaller even though they claim it's built for up too 220cm wich is extremely tall.

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  Před 5 měsíci

      I think it'll be wise for you to avoid the Trophy just because the adjustability could be worse than the Titan because of the fixed(ish) seat (I presume - I could be wrong!) GT Omega's seats all come with slider rails and the Titan pedal plate does have a pretty good range of back and forth movement.
