Own this in a 160. 215lbs. 6’3. 23 years riding. This board has the most pop of any snowboard I’ve ridden. Spend 3 days so far on her. This season I’ve ridden the assassin pro 159 and the super DOA blows it out the water, at least for my style. The assassin pro felt softer, with a more rocker-ish feel. Most of what Angry said I would agree with, although I’ve probably spent more time on the super doa this season than him. If you want an all - mountain side hit , off and on piste bomber. Get it. If you’re more of a park rider, in my opinion it’s a bit too stiff for rails. This is your big kicker / pop a 5 foot Ollie off a side hit board. I also own the regular DOA in a 160 and it’s now collecting dust. My park board is a 158 huck knife. My every day destroyer is the super doa 160, with that said, I also swap between the Golden Orca 157. These 3 are my quiver. The golden is more fun for trees, huck knife park, and super DOA is the I will destroy everything in sight.

Had a day on this in pretty shitty conditions. Ride with union atlas. It’s a great board. I didn’t feel the board wanting to flat base which was a good thing but I probably could t crank up the carve in the conditions. I will say though it flat bases awesome when trying to keep speed up on cat tracks.
Definitely enjoyed it the more I rode it.
Side note how good is the k2 instrument in ALL conditions!

I’ve seen this board recommended on various channels, but you mentioned this is targeted for more the advance rider - good to know. I’m looking to purchase my first board after riding a buddies all last season, so this doesn’t look like the one for me…? If not, got a recommendation for a beginner, that wants to be a more advanced rider that will ride predominantly groomed runs? Oh, I’m 5’8 and 145. Thanks for the great content!

@@TheWave251, thanks for the recommendation. I come from a skateboard background, and man it’s so much easier to choose a board in that realm. I gotta say, it’s damn confusing for someone new coming in - so many choices and options. Based on what I’m read, I’m looking for an all mountain free ride board. Where I’m confused is do I buy a board targeted to a beginner and upgrade as I advance, or grow into a more advanced board? I’ll check out the Bataleon though! Thanks.

Is the review for the normal DOA coming soon? I've been thinking about what board to get for a while now - I'm an intermediate rider who is really comfortable with speed but my freestyle is kinda a** since I've been riding with ski-people most of my life. I wanna change that this season so I was looking into the Evil twin but I'm afraid I might lose some control because of 3BT - I'm riding in Europe (Austria) where conditions are maybe a bit more icy then the US I guess? Sadly there arent any demo days as far as i know (usually only for ski). Because it's kinda risky to buy a Bateleon without having tried out 3BT I'm leaning more towards a Normal DOA right now with Burton Cartels or the Union STR's. Would appreciate thoughts on this or other suggestions from anyone :)
Oh and I'm currently riding a Nitro Uberspoon from 2014 or 15 I think with Nitro pushers (from back then aswell) and it feels kinda stale by now

I was riding an old Drake Banger flat to rocker board for years and decided to buy lasy year's DOA as a first camber dominant board - couldn't be happier about it. I am also an intermediate/maybe upper intermediate rider.
It turned out to be a nice stepping stone to learn how to ride camber. I'll probably have it fo another 2 or 3 years and move for something with full camber or a directional twin (maybe Jones Frontier) but for now, I'm extra happy with DOA. So if they haven't broken it by making it softer (and Avran has said in one of live chats that it is much softer) then you should be fine.
PS. DOAs keep their values throughout the season, sonyou can easily sell it without losing much and get something else.

This is for anyone that might be thinking as First / Beginner rider on buying this board, I did it I've been riding this board as beginner I want to say 8 times now and let me tell you is super fun I can see where the challenges are for sure however is not the end of the world is very responsive very stable and fast, paired it with Union Force bindings
The reason why I did it is because based on what I want to achieve in the future this board wont stop me from learning and crossing all the way to "Advance Rider" without having to buy a nee board because I passed the "Beginner Intermediate" faces
However if you feel confident in your riding as beginner and want some extra challenges go for it trust me,
I do have experience with Longboard and skate that actually maybe some translate to how capable I can be riding this board and where I'm planning to go with it
If you just looking just to cruise the is not worth it, however if you looking to play and have fun all the time and challenge yourself then lovely board, lots of compliments as well

@@stivabeltman2900 love it! Had 4 boards and this is by far my favourite. Have to ride it aggressively but its so fast and ridiculously stable on the flats (cat tracks etc) got a great amount of flex in it and was good for standard stuff in the park. would highly recommend it to anyone who is a good/confident boarder.

Wanting a versatile yet powerful set up for all mountain and considering Midwest icy conditions. Would you recommend the union Atlas, 23/24 Force, or Falcor binding to pair with this board? I know you mentioned the Ultra but if you had to pick from the top three, what do you go with?

He's a con artist. Google search Christian "Ed" Martin and look at his competition results, then look at the companies he's worked with, then ask yourself do you want to work with someone that left snowboarding for 10 years. Dude is on the same level as Buckhouse, Kevin from Snowboard Procamp, Zac Mauser, and all those tools. I don't trust him and I don't think he has snowboarding or snowboarders best interest at heart. Let alone if you look at his Social Blade numbers and see how fast he rose up he's been buying his subscribers.
