@@rb2112 I was doing some research on it the past few days. And the MIP display actually uses less power from what I've read than standard LCD and STN. So it doesn't make much sense that they wouldn't be putting it in all their models at this point.
A guy at work has one of the Mudmasters and I have a 6.5" wrist. I tried his on and you know what? It fit! There was no overhang from the lugs and it hugged my wrist. Having said that, it totally looked like a hockey puck on my arm but I was floored it 'fit' and you couldn't drive a school bus between the lugs and my wrist. Awesome watch, if I could pull it off I'd have a couple in my collection. Although a beefy boi it looked good on you Rob.
Man, I love the look of this watch, love the carbon bezel, love the features. I’m not even a big “solar or nothing” guy. But I think I would want to play around with the compass, altimeter and backlight all the time, and the battery anxiety would kill the fun of it. I know that’s just me being weird, but it’s kind of a drag.
🪫 Yes buddy, you can change the battery. on your own. The metal backplate is right under the resin cover. You will have to remove the straps and the cover and get to the metal backplate which has four small screws just like other gshocks. 🏔 You record your altitude by going to the altimeter mode and pressing and holding the altitude button again for 2 seconds(the altitude reading will start flashing and you will hear a beep when its done). You can then view your saved altitude readings in the Recall(Rec) screen and can have upto 30 recordings at max. It also gives you the option to clear/delete any particular record by first navigating to that record and then pressing and holding the adjust button for 3 secs or clear/delete all records at once by pressing and holding the adjust button for 5 secs.
I have this watch in orange. It looks really cool and has tons of features, but the negative display is very hard to read. Also since the hands are pretty thick, they cover the LCD most of the time. The most practical G-Shocks are the digital ones, like that Rangeman Gw-9400 which is also solar and Multiband 6.
I tried on this watch (not the yellow version) and it didn’t fit. All that carbon core guard and wings took up a lot of space. But I don’t want it anyway because there’s no solar or multiband 6. Those are my favorite features on g-Shock.
I recommend GD350. Has a few features thoes two don't. I own about 15. Mudmaster, 5600 and gd350 are all top notch. About 100 dollars for a gd350. You won't be disappointed
I'm a huge Casio fan but they burned me on the GG1000. The seconds hand gets stuck and becomes off sync with the digital, and I've been told this is a common issue with G's with analog hands, so I just don't buy analog G's anymore. That new Rangeman is absolutely sick, though. LOVE the yellow splash.
@@JimKinkade the strap might not but I will pretty much wear any size watch. I even occasionally wear my vintage 36mm rolex datejust turn-o-graph. 42mm is my sweet spot though. 42 to 50mm lug to lug is my target range.
This would be a great hunting watch with the sunrise, sunset and barometer. Here is how the battery is changed. czcams.com/video/ry-g5zzXiZc/video.html
I wish they make a King Gshock in this colour version
Hey Rob! Nice to meet you at the DC watch show yesterday!! (I was the really tall guy)
Negative display, no solar, bad lume. Hard no. And I'm as big of a G-Shock fan as anyone watching this.
Completely agree! I wish Casio would stop using negative displays.
@@rb2112 yes it is.
I love my neg Displays
@@rb2112 yeah... are they ever going to put more of them out in other G's or do they consume too much power or not work with solar for some reason?

U r absolutely right. These multifunctionality & tough solar made for each other.

I have that one. Extraction model. Glad but all time worried about the lug braking issues ☹️. How about your Rangeman?
Sorry, I forgot...where can I see the battery level of the watch? Thank you for the video...!
You're killin me with these yellow watches 🤦
Will you be reviewing any frogman’s? 😊
7 3/4 " wrist and it fits perfect. Not too big at all
Nice Review Rob the watch is nice but way too big I have 4 Square G they’re smaller. 😃

This happened on my son's GSG-100.
19mm
That thing is a tank. I have a 8½" wrist so i could wear it but the thickness is what will keep me from buying it.
You are a big wrister. This may not even fit you. As thick as it is it fits small.
