Sam - 29 songs was Robert Johnson. Marley had a couple hundred. Story is Johnson went down to the crossroads one midnight, and sold his soul to the Devil for 30 songs. He recorded 29. Nothing is known about the 30th.
Marley was born February 5, 1945 - he would have been 75 this year. He passed in 1981.

I remember when this song came out, and I heard it on the radio the first time. It was so different than other songs that I had heard back then. I miss the 1970's the music back then was often so fresh, and you got to hear new rhythms and melodies that really didn't sound like something you've heard just a few years before. Now it seems like a lot of songs are just plain out re-hashed oldies, or one hears snippets that remind one of another song due to a few chords, or verses.
People don't realize that stir it up is a very sexually explicit song yet beautifully written and sang by Bob!
