      Thank you! Yeah I kept thinking about it for a few months and it took way longer than I thought it would. Oh well. Now it will make me more efficient and I'll slowly start earning back the time put into it👍

      Hahaha! Oh well…. Right on! I think you’ll love having a disc grinder. I was quite surprised how much I end up using it. Way more than I thought I would before I bought it. Always nice when a piece of shop equipment turns out that way. 👍

    At the company i'm working at in germany we actually use ethanol for cooling an lubrication when working with aluminium. I think it works great :)

    Did you consider putting the pivot at the edge of the work rest? It would make the rest a “set it and forget it” deal and there’d be no sliding the fixture in or out when the angle was changed.

      I did, but if I am grinding beaver items (not just light handle blocks) I didn’t want to risk having deflection in the work rest. Anyway you set it up is going to ha e strengths and compromises for varying applications. I figured this was good enough 👍

      It's called an optical center punch. I have a video on it here: czcams.com/video/1LLUhuHaN0E/video.html (just FFWD the viewer's knives segment if you're not interested in those. I used to put them in the beginning of Tool Time Tuesdays but I've since given them their own channel series 👍

    What brand of Taps are you using they look heavy duty?

      These ones are dormer. I've had them from about 15 years and they have been solid. Pricy but over time I think they're worth it. 👍

      They don’t ratchet.

      They are spring loaded so you can take them off or tighten them even without making a full turn tho correct? I'd like to know where to get them or even what they are called so I can search for them.

      Don’t tell other people what to do. Just use metric and imperial being in Canada and I prefer imperial. Saying one is far superior is ignorant. If you’re really accurate in imperial, how could metric be superior. Just another dumb internet agreement.
