Simple, small belt sander for Metalwork. I used a bessey spanner for the quick change system, works really well. The function with the diamond grinding wheel for tungsten grinding came to me during the construction itself. I drilled all three holes so that they are always ground to 30 degrees. I pretty much always use the same angle. The collection container is not perfect, but most of it is caught. Of course, the best would be a suction for the fine dust.

Glue some neodymium magnets to the grinders catch box. Get twice as much crap off the clean out. Slick build, and the rod sharpening setup is wicked! 👍

I've got a big 2x72 grinder but I keep feeling myself being drawn to something like this. The big beast is a great machine; dead stable and absolutely slays metal but it is BIG, loud and it's hard to justify using it just to bevel 3" of a small part.
Very fast and clean❤. I like to make one of this belt sander.
I built a similar solution for my tungsten grinding, just bolted a diamond wheel straight to the stone. But I put in a pipe straight out from the axle to connect the shop vac.
When I get a fully set up metal manufacturing workshop with all the tools, I might try to make one!😃

Die Idee mit dem Bessey Spanner ist großartig! Jetzt noch einen günstigen Frequenzumrichter dran und man kann auch noch die Drehzahl und die Laufrichtung einstellen.

I'm making a belt sander also, and using an 80's polyurethane skateboard wheel that looks exactly like .... yours. Krypton is the brand name if I remember correctly.

where did you find the clamp for the tension of the center??
It is a Bessey BESSTCIHH25 push toggle clamp. Other brands are cheaper.
By far the best diy belt Grinder setup. You've inspired me to get my ass out in the shop and get to work. The added tungsten option is the shit now. BTW what are doing with Snake Plissken's cane? I'm intrigued. You definitely got mad skills.

Wie lange hast Du dafür gebraucht, von der Idee über Planung zur Ausführung. Einfach super Deine Ideen.
Dankeschön 😁 die Idee mit dem spanner hatte ich eigentlich schon länger. Setzt mich dann immerhin und schau was ich an Material da habe oder welche Möglichkeiten es noch gibt. Von der Idee bis ich dann endlich anfangen Vergehen dann immer ein paar Wochen da ich dann meistens noch andere Projekte imlaufen habe. Der Bau geht dann relativ schnell glaube das waren so 8-10h dieses mal 😁

Don’t muck about with tungsten dust. Get some active dust collection on there with a good hepa filter.

Das Klötzchen für die elektrodenführung hab ich aus alu jemacht und jeschraubt ;) und diese schrägbohren. Genau zwei dieser Klötzer aneinander und dann schräg am Stoß reinbohren 🤔😉. Der erste der weiß wie man macht um Elektrode so kurz wie möglich😉
Und nicht diese 3D Drucker🙈
