Here are my few points on how to tell your kids.
- sex education is not just the education on intercourse
It primarily teaches children men=women, eradicate misogyny, patriarchy from society.
First:- avoid circumstances at your surroundings if there is anything for young children to sexualize about (like sexual figures or paintings). The sexuality in children grows at just 2 years! Which is why we are asked to stop breastfeeding by age 2.
Second:- teach good touch and bad touch, teach your child to resist being touched in private areas by others. Teach them to inform parents immediately if they confront such situations from anyone including family members.
third:- teach your boys to do house works / chores as equal as girls to limit patriarchy. Children are always bought up through traumas and childhood characteristics. So help them grow with an equality character in them.
Teach them to never comment on a girl which is called a “guy talk”.
Teach your children on how to love your partner or people rather than emphasizing on sex and intercourse. This is important in a child.
Whenever a kid asks how kids are born, tell them your parents slept and loved eachother (if they are asking before reaching puberty, because if they come to know the truth, they are will have an awkward feeling about the parents. )
^^ all these are prominently essential to be taught before puberty.
When you know your child has reached puberty,
Teach them on private hygiene and the ways to stay clean.
Now you can tell them how kids are born firstly by giving them a book which you can find in libraries like “what makes the babies” or “sex is a funny word”. These books are for kids.
Now that they have understood the basics, ask them what they have understood and make a comfortable environment for them to answer in a casual environment.
You can support their statement with truth.
You are a perfect parent now. Congratulations 💝
