  • Join me for a walk around the historic heart of the gorgeous and bustling city of Norwich, the largest city in East Anglia! Home to centuries of enthralling heritage, Norwich was once one of England's largest and most advanced cities, with the hallmarks of its majestic past still standing in the form of countless medieval landmarks, from churches to castles, and from pubs to cathedrals!
    On our walk around Norwich, we pass so many interesting landmarks, including Norwich Castle, the Royal Arcade, Norwich Market, Norwich Guildhall, Norwich City Hall, the Church of St Peter Mancroft, The Forum, St. John's Maddermarket Church, The Belgian Monk Pub, Strangers' Hall, The Strangers' Tavern, St. Gregory's Church, St. Andrew's Church, the Bridewell, The Wildman Pub, London Street, the Church of St. Michael-at-Plea, St Peter Hungate Church, St. Andrew's & Blackfriars' Hall, The Britons Arms, Elm Hill, Tombland, The Maid's Head Hotel, the Erpingham Gate, St. Ethelred's Gate, Norwich Cathedral Close, Norwich School, Norwich Cathedral, St. Helen's Church and the Adam and Eve Pub.

    Good evening! And welcome to this tour of the magnificent medieval city of Norwich, once one of England's most advanced cities, and still home to a spectacular array of landmarks, atmospheric streets and riveting stories!
    So sit back, relax, and enjoy this bumper tour of Norwich, right the way from the city's imposing castle to its cathedral, and 'probably' the oldest pub in the city!

    This video is lovely, well produced, researched and narrated, it will be of interest to anyone who isn’t familiar with Norwich or its history. Whilst it’s not a criticism the camera shake is the only thing which differentiates this video from one produced professionally. 👍

    This was an excellent tour with a good commentary in terms of content and delivery. It reignited long ago memories of my time at the university in Norwich

    It's not 'Cathedral Close,' as in, 'Close the door.' It's 'Cathedral Close,' as in, 'You are too close to me.'

    I, in all honesty, think this is the best city overview channel I've seen on youtube. The historical approach really adds to the experience! Do you have any plans on exploring towns outside of England as well?

    Very nice, both the video and the city - but are you sure City Hall has the largest clock bell in the country?! I'd have thought big Ben (at least) is a good deal larger.

    Tombland was named Tombland because of the tunnels and Tombs underneath its grounds NOT because of a market overland. From Alaya born and bred in Norwich how dare you !

    • @ajlook5457
      @ajlook5457 Před 9 měsíci

      You're so wrong. It's got nothing to do with tombs. The narrator was 100% correct.

    You also have not mentioned the Jewish influence in Norwich the Tragedy that ensued, and the FACT-that Strangers Hall was home to and hiding place for Jewish bankers in Norwich. I’m disappointed in you. Alaya Born and Bred in Norwich
