If you are trying to lose weight, you have to take in less calories then you burn. You CAN do manual labor to burn more calories but that takes a lot of work and a small meal can eliminate all the work that you have done. What you want to do is to speed up your Natural Basal Metabolic Rate.
The first thing you want to to is to not over-rely on cardio. When you do cardio, you send your body the signal to become efficient with calories, and that it doesn’t need strength but rather endurance. Your body tries to slow your metabolism down by reducing muscle mass and strength. This is the opposite of what you want to do to speed up your metabolism.
The next thing that you should do is to life weights. You need strength to speed up your metabolism. Muscle burns a lot of calories.
The most important thing is to consume enough calories. When you don’t feed your body much for long periods of time, your metabolism starts to slow down, so you can survive on less calories. Make sure to slowly increase calories overtime, you will find that you have a faster metabolism.
Doing all of these things can lead to a faster metabolism. For example, Sal is training a woman who would do 9 hours of cardio a week and only consumed ~1200 calories. Through the methods explained in this video, she managed to raise her daily caloric intake to over 1800 calories a day, in just two months!

Absolutely brilliant! Best explanation ever. I have been all over CZcams and I’m wanting to get in shape, I’ve been afraid of going to the gym, I do have a membership I just haven’t gone yet. I started by watching your how to tutorials on how to handle weights and what to do with them, but the only advice I’ve gotten from a friend was to just lift weights & the fat will come off and I totally was confused by that, but you have made it very clear and I now understand what he was trying to tell me now. I Just started strength training with a PT and as a newbie Im still very nervous about having to eat more calories and meet a macros target but I trust the process and know the more muscle I build will burn more calories and that If I am taking in nutritious food not just junk that this food will fuel my workouts and speed my metabolism up.

I was told do a curcit weight training to lose weigh and cardio and a calorie defeset with healthy clean eating. Now it did work for awhile lost 30 lbs but it was slow But then I platuide. But I remembered when I was younger had 30 lbs to lose I did a 4 day weight training split amd use to get in shape fast. So I switched to that along with hit cardio and wow what a diffreance . I gained muscle and broke through the platu and am getting shredded. My only supplements are post protein powder drink and AG green juice with a good multi vitamin and cretin ang uped my calories form 1500 to 1900. It worked . But I cycle my calories with refeeds and interment fasting. Been working well l for me. Big thing ..NO proceeded foods or sugar hardley ever .

I was eating 1200 calories for years since being a teenager even while making sure to exercise and could never lose weight. People would always say it’s about deficit but I was always in so much of a deficit all the time (like below my bmr) that my vitamins also depleted and the life had been sucked out of me and the fat just stuck, like my body stored it as a defense mechanism. I am only just now (at 22) trying what i haven’t done before, which is actually increasing calories to eventually drop the fat. I feel like my body just hit a chronic plateau eating as little as I was that long. Now I’m focusing on growth, building, etc. If there is one thing I know I can do, it’s build muscle. So I will at least do that right now and figure out the cut later. This video helps a lot!

Every time I lost weight, it started by lifting weights. You don't lose weight in the beginning but over time it works. I lifted once or twice at the beginning of the week, my cheat days were the days I lifted. I ate less later in the week and weighed myself on Friday. I was able to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week easily. Your point is interesting and has some elements of truth. However, the idea that doing a lot of cardio will inherently lead to a slower metabolism is an oversimplification. Yes, your body does become more efficient at an exercise the more you do it, and over time, you might burn fewer calories doing the same amount of exercise. But that doesn't mean your overall metabolism is slowing down. In fact, increasing your physical activity generally helps to increase your metabolic rate, not decrease it. This is because exercise, including cardio, helps to increase muscle mass, and muscle is more metabolically active than fat.
That being said, I do agree that we shouldn't rely solely on cardio for weight loss or overall fitness. Resistance training is also crucial as it helps to build muscle mass, which can boost metabolism and improve body composition. Plus, it offers a host of other health benefits like improved bone health and better physical function.
As for diet, it plays a vital role in weight management, and combining regular exercise with a balanced, calorie-controlled diet is typically the best approach for sustainable weight loss.
In conclusion, the key to a successful fitness or weight loss program isn't to choose cardio or weight training-it's to include both, along with a balanced diet and adequate rest. Everyone is different, and what works best will depend on individual goals, preferences, and health needs.

I eat a relatively healthy diet, and do weight or strength training for at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. I'm getting ready to bumb up my daily workouts to around 60 minutes a day.
Which means consuming enough calories is a stuggle. It's Saturday, and as of 8pm I managed 850 (that is with making an effort). I'll have a few beers, not light beers, so I'll end up around 1600 to 1800. Not the way I want to hit my caloric intake. On a work night I struggle to surpass 1000. • @davidperez6040
      @davidperez6040 Před 2 lety

All this is relative to your gender, height, current weight, current muscle mass (training), metabolism and being natural. Im also talking about aesthetic goals.
      A) maingain: stay the same weight (desired weight) and slowly replace the weight (fat) into lean muscle mass.
      B) get shredded: be lightweight, calorie deficit (strict diet) look good without a shirt but small in a shirt, be weak
      C) bulk: be heavier, calorie surplus (eat what you want) look fat naked but fill in your shirt, be strong.
Answer both b and c then a for a bit and then start the cycle again after you are comfortable with how your body look and feels (weight) then stay at a. Tip: You can never meet your dream physique so dont chase it instead chase after numbers but dont get hurt doing so.
Example 5’4, male, 170 lbs, slow metabolism, noob.
Your not going to bulk because you are heavy for your height and probably dont have muscle. So you can do a or b id do a and treat it like im bulked. After i make some muscle and strength id change to c then a for a bit then b rinse and repeat.

Long term fasting destroys the metabolism as the body adapts to starvation. To speed it up you have to eat your set amount of calories in more meals, so if you want to lose fat 1800 calories over 6 meals a day with weight lifting 3 times a week for an hour.

go a 100 a week. weigh your self daily and average it for the week, look in the mirror too.. When you weight levels off then jump up another 100. My maintenance is 2600.. I go 100 a week. once i get to 2900 it takes about 2 weeks for weight to level off. you will gain minimal fat, and might lose weight in the process. I walked up from 2300 to 2900 and lost 7lbs in the process. keep in mind you cant walk calories up forever, also keep in mind just because your weight might increase does not mean it is fat. could be muscle since you are technically eating in a surplus before you flatline.

There's so much conflicting data out here it's hard to know what's right. I'm not sure if I'm slowing or speeding up my metabolism now. I eat one meal a day at lunch time (IF 22/2) but I'm eating around 1700-1800 calories, modified keto. I don't do traditional weight training. I train with a 40lbs Bulgarian bag doing this circuit czcams.com/video/ZYLmEtAACZQ/video.html 3 days a week. Stretching/yoga, running, and core on off days. I am getting into better shape but I'm not sure if this is going to hurt me in the long run. Right now I feel good and it feels sustainable.
