Not sure if anyone has seen the early credits, but the music supervisor was Michael Malone ("Match Game" among his credits). Being a G-T person may explain why he used this particular piece.
Dream House creator-producer Don Reid was a fool to leave the Dream House tapes in his home. He should have paid to have them stored in a tape vault.

If any of the NBC stations that aired Dream house on their station had the hindsight to make backup air masters and air copies that could be of big help to Mr. Reid.

Dream House, as well as Trivia Trap, both helped me get over my fear of the 'WHOOP, WHOOP WHOOOOP' sound effects from The Price Is Right.😁
I think of my oldest brother when I hear the theme song for Dream House, and my older brother when I hear the theme song for Trivia Trap.😂
They, moreover, were happy that I got over my fear of the sound effects; hence the reason I started watching The Price Is Right when I was ten!😕😟

that explains it -- the first Showoffs theme I thought matched that show better than this one... and, yes, I am old enough to remember watching it (but, hey didn't have the VCR's back then)
The theme to Dream House has always been this theme, but on a higher keynote.

I wonder if someday the second theme to "Dream House" will be available on the internet.
i scheduled a stitched version of the second theme to be upload in september this year.
Didn't Michael Malone compose the theme, especially 13 weeks into the series, when the key was changed for the theme to have that wealthy, country club-like feel?
unfortunately, it's no longer available online (if its the one I think you're talking about), Sony pulled a cease and desist on them.
