      Jordan's large hands enabled him to make truly amazing passes throughout his carrier, I feel this is the most underrated and under appreciated part of his game.

      His first 5 years in the Association... The whole defense collapses on the brother like they're police and he stole a candy bar, Pistons even treated him like Rodney King. Eventually he's going to start dumping the ball off and pretend to look the opposite way to keep those commas in his checks. But regardless he was the golden goose. He always had at least .5 second ahead of everyone else on the court. All it took was that one step and the tongue comes out.

    • @kingtutt880
      @kingtutt880 Před 4 lety +14

      And it was always within the flow of the game. He never stat chased like a lot of players do today, and he didn't hold onto the ball looking for an assist. All his assists came when they were necessary, and it was the best play to make.

      Steph Curry The G.O.A.T Not exactly true, he shot 33% for his career. You mean he didn't focus on shooting 3's, but I want you to imagine this. Jordan only hit 598 3's in his career and still scored over 30K points. Curry will be the first and only player in NBA history to hit 3,500 3's and won't even sniff 30K point's. Now what does that tell you...

    • @stephcurrytheg.o.a.t
      @stephcurrytheg.o.a.t Před 6 lety +1

      Ahmad2423 first his percentage is boosted by the two seasons with the shortened line. Also Curry is a PG and he doesn't shoot nowhere as many times as MJ did. Curry the only player in NBA history to average 30 and make the 50-40-90 club. MJ has never come close to doing that. Also MJ had a lot of free throw attempts. If MJ was complete then he would be able to shoot the 3. And he also said he wish he could've worked on his free throw, cause it was only ok-good
      P. S stop saying that bullshit "MJ didn't focus on 3s" shit. Y'all make it sound like he missed it on purpose and only made it when he felt like. He couldn't shoot it end of discussion

    What makes Jordan great is he has his own style; each year he improved his skills on offense and defense; he kept playing hard; and he never declined from any level from where he started. If he went to the conference finals, he won the title the next year and kept winning; his scoring average improved and his game was complete... then on top of that he had his own style which made his own game unique... forget everything else, just look at an individual person improving and never cheating himself by declining with his skill, leadership, or team's ability to play at a championship level... you want that from all athletes in sports because fans pay money to watch guys compete like this... Jordan never cheated the fans, even if you hated his teams or games, he never cheated fans from their money's worth.

      Pele was not only as complete as Michael, in their respective crafts each, not only as utterly dominant at the pinnacle of competition but also inhumanely creative. Altough a great portion of his games havent been videotaped, there is more than enough left to provide us with the image of a genius reigning supreme since he was 17. I am talking about plays that expand our perception about what is possible. He is just about the only one I would classify over Jordan as a team sports athlete. If we are talking about basketball though, only an idiot would not have MJ as the undisputed king.

      MJ played in the modern era - post NBA/ABA merger. As for his 37.1 a season, there's nothing to explain. It is established fact that his era was significantly harder by the entire basketball world including players, coaches and analysts. The 90's is considered defensive decade of the NBA and the rule changes were made to help perimeter players score easier by making the basket easy to get to - this is all recorded, established fact. Despite these facts, you are the one crackpot declaring MJ sucks and the past era sucked in the face of the facts and everybody else in general.

    Maybe I'm biased, but this offensive montage shows me why MJ will always be the goat. His fundamentals are flawless. He has such a huge amount of moves to operate in the post and also has a deadly mid-game. I'm not hating on LBJ, because he's a top 5 player of all time, but he doesn't have much of a post game. The majority of the time, he drives to the hole and does a spin for the layup or dunk. There's nothing wrong with that; I mean, he's deadly and unstoppable when he does that because of his size, but his post game is lacking with offensive variety. MJ could kill you in so many ways. Plus, I think MJ has more finesse, but that doesn't really mean anything. Lol.

    • @eiichirooda664
      @eiichirooda664 Před 6 lety +3

      Lebron, i think is already nearly equal to Jordan. The fact that Lebron has the IQ of a coach, passing like a top 10 passer, drives strong without being stop, a deadly 3 pointer, clutch mentality and scores fundamentally which people don't see because his athleticism overshadows it makes him nearly equal to Jordan. That only offense that Lebron has on Jordan is shooting, passing, and driving. Post game? Maybe you are kind of toooooo biased on that but Lebron isn't a skill post player i think he is a power post and post fade away player. Jordan is can be better than at other parts but it's hard to compare because they Jordan's post, scorin, etc are different. They also different on defense. Lebron is more of a athletic type defense but that doesn't mean he has the IQ and skill to do it. Jordan is a more skill and mentality defense type player but that doesn't mean he has the athleticness to do it. The thing that we can only talk about right now is rings which i hate to debate because it's always one sided and biased. Right now Jordan is better but i always have thoughts on who is really better.

    • @calvinbrice.t2140
      @calvinbrice.t2140 Před 6 lety +9

      I don’t think Lebron is equal to Jordan. He’s the closest to Jordan who’s a non big but still he isn’t. Jordan has an incredibly high basketball iq. You mix that with his work ethic and his athletic ability and talent. Jordan was taught by the late great dean smith who he himself was from the line of James Naismith who was the creator of basketball. So Jordan’s fundamentals are right on point based on what he’s taught. Passing is something that unfortunately get underrated when talking about Jordan because his offense and defense are just so high. Lebron is top 3 to me but Jordan is still on top. You look at Jordan’s overall game and he still outdoes Lebron. Less turnovers more steals. Lebron has more assists and rebounds but the difference isn’t glaring at all. Lebron averages 7 rebounds a game Jordan averaged 6 as a SHOOTING guard. Which is high for a shooting guard. Now defense again Jordan had a more complete defensive game. Steals are something Lebron isn’t notorious for even though he can and has show he’s good at at. Jordan is 3rd all time in steals. In addition they average the same amount of blocks per game I think Jordan might be slightly more. Jordan’s passing rate was good too and overall was a great passer. People also fail to remember that the triangle offense Jordan played didn’t focus on him passing as much so that element wasn’t as critical in that scheme. Triangle offense always focused on shared responsibility of tasks although depending on the skill set one may be more of a focus on a certain things than others. Rings are another things but we’re talking player to player but I think Jordan if you take everything( steals low turnover rate etc) was the more efficient player of the two.

      Mcraly Chicken Nugget in a oven - I just went year by year starting with both players rookie seasons (I threw out Jordan's 2nd year when he only played 8 games due to injury & the 94-95 season when he played 17 games) and compared the following 9 statistics - *FG%, 3PT%, FT%, OFF REB, ASSTS, STLS, BLKS, TOs and PTS*
      Below are the results:
      *FG%* - Jordan won 7 of 9
      *3PT%* - LeBron won 7 of 9
      *FT%* - Jordan won all 9
      *OFF REB* - Jordan won 8 of 9 (the other was a TIE)
      *ASSTS* - LeBron won 6 of 9
      *STEALS* - Jordan won all 9
      *BLKS* - Jordan won 4 of 9 (LeBron won 2...the other 3 were TIES)
      *TO's* - Jordan had less TOs 5 of 9 seasons (LeBron had one season with less turnovers...the other 3 were TIES)
      *PTS* - Jordan won all 9
      In 9 key categories LeBron only dominated 2 (3PT% & ASSTS). Hardly numbers for someone who is supposedly "catching" and "surpassing" Jordan. LeBron isn't even on the same planet as MJ.
      And I'm sorry there was nobody more clutch mentally than Jordan. The other stuff is somewhat debatable. Clutch mentally is an open and shut case.

    Jordan at 29 over anybody anytime anywhere. He just dominated the year 1992. As in like Jan to Dec. Title, scoring title, MVP, Finals MVP, Olympic gold etc. then here, first half of the next season, he’s leading the league in scoring again with even more than the previous year, AND leading the league in steals. Like I said, Jordan at age 29 was just unstoppable.

    While I'm grateful as hell that I got to see Jordan from '93 onward, I just wish I was born two years earlier so I could have started watching him in '91, as it is clear that his athleticism diminished from '91 to '93. He was still an athletic freak (hell he was an athletic freak even in '98) but he definitely lost some burst and hang time starting around '92 and going into ''93. Oh well. I watched the GOAT play for 4+ years and lead us to 4 titles. And I saw him play 4 times live in the United Center so I really shouldn't complain.

      @AlexanderFrieske Před 6 lety +4

      Jordan, in a pinch, surely **could** play the 5 on D. But, not very well for very long. He was just simply not big enough, vertically nor horizontally.
      I’ll give LBJ that aspect-he can play both ways, 1 through 5. But, no one compares to MJ.
      Jordan is the best offensive player (likely) ever (please don’t bring up The Big Dipper-he was playing against wretched talent). And, he was just about the greatest defender ever-especially off the ball.
      But, he’d lock down guards and forwards on-ball, as well. There was essentially nothing he couldn’t do-especially when specifically motivated.

    His passing. Beating Ewing on the block. On both ends(!). Defense, rebounding, flawless handle, 83% FTs, GOAT scoring arsenal, insane athleticism, flawless intangibles, he’s even shooting 40% from 3 over HIS FINAL 12 GAMES OF THE YEAR; that’s the entire ECF and NBA Finals combined, on 4 3PT attempts per game.
    Throw in the fact that also includes his 41 PPG in the Finals, and it all went towards winning his 3rd straight Finals MVP…
    Not only is MJ clearly the GOAT (it’s not close) but this ‘93 season is, IMO, his all-around peak.

    This was the year Jordan transitioned to become the jump shooting Jordan, BEFORE his first retirment. If you notice there aren't as many high flying dunks, although he still has his footspeed. At age 29/30, Jordan lost his leaping ability a bit early. It could have been wear and tear from the 92 playoffs AND playing with the Dream Team. There were several alley oops where he laid it in instead of dunking. And a few occasions where Jordan was on a fastbreak and decided to stop and take a jumper instead of flying to the basket.
