Hosts used to have sidekicks and though Jon Batiste kind of doubled as band leader and sidekick I think Evie would be a great addition to the duo, at least occasionally.

Am I the only one that's gonna be a little sad when all these talk show hosts return to the theaters with an audience? There's something to be said for this "smaller", "quiet" format - and I'll miss Evie's appearances!

There is an intimacy with this format which is much easier to grow connected to Stephen and the family. Less polish, more closeness. We LOVE this format for all of these guys, Trevor, Seth, Jimmy and Jiimmy... they are all better up close and personal!

I feel like Colbert and my other CZcams favorites, (and their teams of creative people!) have kept me sane through this period.
They are like really smart friends who make you laugh.

As a germaphobe, I'd love to keep on masks in flu season or on air planes. Don't need anybody's sniffles. Also helps when you are lazy and do not want to deal with makeup. ;-)

A more serious comment: here in Germany alone 13.000 fully vaccinated people still tested positive for Corona afterwards (0.16%) and 44.000 with only one shot. More than 600 died from Corona after being fully vaccinated, and around 2.000 of those that had gotten only one shot yet. I am NOT a vaccination sceptic - second shot on Monday -, but, please, do not relax too soon!
@John Merlin Well, if that's what Americans do, they will be in for a little shock: over here we are already preparing for the third one, the so-called booster shot, that will have to come in autumn (more correctly 6 months after being fully vaccinated). - and, as the virus and its variants/mutants are much faster than science at the moment, nobody really knows, how often we will need such boosters. So, "over and done with" will not on the horizon for a long time to come ...

I’m going to always wear a mask in public because if I learned one thing during this pandemic, is that people are gross and disgusting.
I work at a hardware store and I'm still amazed how many people who have dirty hands 1 year later the place has a bathroom. Of course watching people coughing into their hands before they enter the store is always a feel good moment.

Because of this whole pandemic. It made me break my habit of biting my nails and I never gotten covid or regular sick. You better believe that I'm going to carry a mask wherever I go.
I quit biting my nails too..aged 62. They are strong as steel and look fabulous! Congrats to us both, can’t get a manicure in Ontario though!

In enclosed spaces when there’s an older person I still wear my mask. If the people I’m with are vaccinated and not high risk I definitely don’t wear the mask. I just want to wait another month or so to make sure

Here, in Australia, where we have not had to wear masks for months now due to our almost zero numbers, we have seen a massive rise in really bad colds which were barely in existence last year, when we were masked up. I really wish people would mask their snotty noses and hacking coughs up!

Stephen, I am one fan who really loved the format during the difficult time during the Covid-19 pandemic. Hearing Evie's and your crew's reactions have been treasured moments. If I ever feel a cold coming on, I'll probably wear a mask to keep it from spreading from now on. The last thing I want is all my coworkers getting sick with me and we're all calling out sick at the same time. (We are still required to wear them at my job currently)
I think a lot of people can agree that masks work. We can all recall a time where one person had a cold or something and it spread to everyone. If one does what you described we can avoid those wildfire spreads in the workplace,schools,soccer teams etc. pretty simple.

We don’t want an audience, this format is amazing. It’s been great for Conan and James Corden. There’s a good trend forming here... the future of late night is being formed. This is it. Don’t go back to the theatre with the old format, I never watched for years because it’s such an overused format
