Wow! I've never had a CZcams comment liked before...thanx Gina, you're awesome
It really is so cool what Stephen did for these small, family-owned microcorps. I'm so happy for the Laser Ladies, and of course Foggy Pine Books, I'm an omnivorous reader and work in a book shop (Joke: I read books for a living), I've also got a book of poetry coming out called "Howler's Sloth" from Penguin South Africa...here's an example of a p(r)oem:

Oh me Oh my GOODNESS...MarJoe Davidson of th/ Just Heavenly Fudge Factory is sooo adorable! 83!? I hope I'm that awesome in my eighth decade!
As a small business coffee roaster, I almost cried when I saw that news excerpt for the location change. What that 10 second clip can do for a small business is massive. This team is so awesome for this.
Yup, fudge one got me ugly crying. This was so selfless.
@@jayfreedman5167 not gonna lie I might order some fudge from them in the morning. 😂
Hey where are you located. I travel almovwr the ace with my wife. We might come in and no joke get coffee. We drink coffee at every meal. And I'm a pretty big bean head myself. Hit me up and I'll pin you on my next trip :)
It made sappy, too.
@ Jay Freedman Do you sell fudge?
I'll take these small business commercials over celebrity interviews any day.
Just went to the fudge website and saw a notice on the main page that due to the overwhelming response from The Late Show, they can't take more new orders right now and to check back soon. Well done, everyone!!
Nice job breaking it, guys! ... And I say that without any sarcasm :D
The guy that laughs in the background is going to be missed when you all go back to a normal crowd! I love hearing him laugh! ❤
YES!
Thats usually stephens wife Evie, shes a beautiful person, hes a lucky guy💙
Me, too!!
Jim?... :)
Me too! It is nice to hear Stephen have at least a little audience feedback
"And elderly lady with a mohawk who owns and runs a specialty fudge store" sounds like straight out of a novel.
This is amazing and excuse me I have a craving for some fudge!
Marjoe actually is an author, I believe. I deliver ice cream to them every now and then, the San Juans are beautiful
Feeling proud for my neighbors Marjoe & Natalie -- proprietors of Just Heavenly Fudge. And for Stephen Colbert for using his show's big pulpit to help American small businesses.
*CAN WE JUST TAKE A MOMENT* to appreciate that she opened a new business at 69 YEARS OLD..!!!
Thats not a 69 joke, that's appreciation.
I was thinking the same thing. It gives me hope for a great fourth chapter of life.
And honorary mention to the Mohawk she’s rocking!

Using your platform to help small businesses is very commendable and sets a damn fine example of how to use one's influence for good.
as someone who has been to the heavenly fudge shop...absolutely.
Help small businesses?? Arr you kdding??
This guy was chanting for BLM to burn down other people's small businesses, and also supported lockdowns that ahut down even more.
The last thing this guy cares about is small businesses unless it helps him. Like my god, you are so brainwashed.

I'm crying more than the first time you did this.
I'm not crying, you're crying! 😢
Can’t we just keep this format forever!
I can't believe I'm asking for more commercials because they made me cry, but I absolutely want that.
Once a week. Internet special if needed!
@E E yep, as much exposure as needed. If it's in web only content, we are here for it!
as a MA resident who's been to healthy appetites, this honestly touched my heart that you're actually doing shout outs to little local places. gotta admit i teared up a little
+Kathleen Kinney ~ Since you're in the area, was that the local news crew, or actors? (I'm thinking they probably reached out to real CBS affiliate, a la John Oliver, but not sure if that's the case.)
I’m crying, I’m actually crying watching an ad, how is this even possible? There’s something just so wholesome and about doing something like this and helping out some small businesses, I just love it.
I never thought I would say this.. But, I want to be sold Orca poop by an 80 year old Woman with a gray Mohawk ...... I want to LIVE!

@@chitchatpaddiwack5638 Hahaha. You're funny. I love your comment. 💗
For the sake of the US, I really hope we're past the worst of what the pandemic had to bring us.
This is such an amazing idea. Even the simplest of shoutouts can have major effects for these businesses. The fun size Lazer Ladies are adorable, as is MarJoe and her mohawk, but I'm really in awe of Cthuloon. That sculpture is pretty damn impressive.
As is your username.
I live in Seattle and have been to Lopez Island a couple of times and it's definitely worth a visit, it's so beautiful there!
Fun fact, the community is SO nice that everyone waves to each other while driving around... no joke, it's kinda their thing.
If we all treated each other with kindness and respect, we'd all make America great again.
I just have one request for the show before Stephen returns to the theater: please have one episode where Stephen just interviews Evie and they tell stories together!
Two things:
1. This needs more likes ⬆️
2. I hope they see this!
Brilliant idea 👍
YES YES YES
That would be awesome!!
Let's make it happen!
Like the time he told us how they met? Oh THAT'S a favey! 🥰
Bump!
I am off, to buy some fudge!
Update: I bought a 6 piece assortment, a bottle of chili sauce, Slug Butter, and a jar of sea glass-something I collect.
Hope it helps! Looking forward to my treats!!!
Congratulations on the small business help! You single-handedly did more in a matter of weeks than the last disaster did in the entire 4 years. Even before the pandemic all they cared about was lining the pockets of the biggest corporations owners.
Good luck to all small businesses worldwide. The end is in sight!
Just me crying at people helping a cute old lady selling fudge don’t mind meeeeeee
Don't worry me too, she was so sweet
Hello Ellen, I didn't know you watched Colbert. Good to know

Petition for the Late Show to be this format going forward...
We should get a new segment on it! Many businesses are hoping to get more traffic after too many years of people staying at home.
And to be honest... as most as you dedicated yours self to baking and making pastries and food... you are not still there yet!
I agree, more ads for more fun size biz

No i miss them altogether.
It'd lose its punch if done too often. But once every three months might work.
Ordering more books from small business: hire more staff.
Ordering more books from Amazon: workers have even less time to pee in a bottle.
As someone who works for amazon I can verify that.
@@rachelgaines3872 Best of luck getting unionized. If not, well, you might have to resort to the old way of workers explaining to the boss that they're dissatisfied with conditions. In the interest of not being banned, I won't elaborate, but noted historical examples inlcude the Coal Wars and French Revolution.
But but but, what about the pee-bottle industry! Cancel culture!

I hope the people who made these commercials, from producers to actors & beyond, enjoyed making them as much as I enjoyed watching them!
Stephen I love watching your show.. It has only gotten better during the pandemic. I love how you were able to easily just have your wife as the audience and how you have a picture of your pup in the background. This show makes me laugh and remember that there are many decent people out there who are genuinely vested in making this a better world.

"Baby Back Llama Ribs - They're DeLlicious!" 😈
"I'll have the beer battered, deep fried, baby beluga. Honey, what do you want?"

@E E if less people eat meat then you lose the economy of scale that allows meat to be so inexpensive.
One of those lines a writer will spend the weekend patting themselves on the back for 😂 it was *chef's kiss*
Finally, an important topic that cuts right to my heart: fudge.
I hope everyone orders online from those adorable folks 💜
Death by chocolate is my motto.
I live in the Netherlands. I laughed and small tears came out watching this. This team is absolutely amazing.
6:25 This is so awesome. It reminded me of how for more than a year I thought I small business, a cup cake store had closed because of COVID. Bigger businesses had closed and I wanted to keep buying their stuff to support them. A few weeks ago, I didn't park in the normal area I park at the shopping center and as I was walking to the store I wanted to get to, I saw that they had just moved to a smaller shop on a less frequented part of the small mall as opposed to being inside as they used to. I've been going there twice a week now to buy more cup cakes and cake slices than I need (and gifting the surplus) just to support them.
Stephen you have earned so much of my respect this year. This is so kind. Big love from England!

This is more help to small businesses than any ridiculous GQP tax law.
Amen! Omg 😲
Kind of seems like the current republicans appear passionately "fighting" for small business, but fiercely alters tax law in favor of the big businesses.
@@MountainLWolf The ONLY ppl they care about are themselves n those who can buy their way politically. Idk wtf is up with them! I'm totally new to politics so no clue where I fit in partywise, but the current "Republicans" make most long for even the G.W. Bush era geez!
CAN WE PLEASE GO BACK TO BEING NORMAL AMERICANS WHO CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER, OUR COUNTRY AND OUR WAY OF LIFE??!
Actually i wad about to write the very same, GOP (including the orange monster) sucks unless it is a big corp or rich individuals.
@@MountainLWolf Yep. They've been that way as long as I've been paying attention. Their prattle about 'freedom' rings similarly hollow. At least under Bush XLIII, their talk about the rule of law and democratic traditions wasn't a complete joke, but it has been since they started sucking up to Moscow Mitch and Alpha Molester. They used to have pathetic, misguided and selfish morals, but now they're just morally bankrupt.
Could y'all post a map of all the small businesses with all of the Colbert decorative engravings for travelers to try to hit them all up? It could be like a Stephen Colbert small business discovery hunt!

What generous hearts the commercial producers had, to do this. That lady's going to have more business, esp online, than she knows what to do with.
Bout to go to their online store.. praying they ship to Australia!
Edit: seems they do!! But shipping costs are sadly stretching the budget too far.. time to start saving!!
@Larry Richards Feel free to send some our way. ;-)
@Larry Richards You're a good soul, Larry. I'm not diabetic but the thought of that much sugar makes my teeth itch! lol
I know Lopez Island well; I've a friend who lives there and have been there many times myself. It's isolated, and the Washington State Ferry Service has been *severely* curtailed during the pandemic. With the amount of new workers she's going to need in order to keep up with this increased demand, she'll be able to provide jobs to a measurable percentage of the entire island's population. This could end up saving not just a single business but an entire island.
And now I'm crying.
_The Colbert Small Biz Bump_ is a beautiful thing to behold. Well played, gang.
i lost it at the end with Stephen's comment about the bbq petting zoo.

That's last week tonight's level of impact on the real world. Respect.
One of my fav shows!
The Colbert Bump actually predates Last Week Tonight by almost a decade. It originated from The Colbert Report in 2006, I think. I'm glad the powers of the Bump are being harnessed for the good of the people like John's always done with LWT.
Better a late Show than never, is what I always say.
@@ichijofestival2576 I gotta go rewatch it. Where's the time gone. It used to temporarily boost the politicians who appeared on it from what I recall. Might have been negative now that you mention it. All good on the 10s of my life; wasn't worth much anyway.
@@ichijofestival2576 I just did a bit of reading-
From TV Tropes entry: 'The Trope Namer is Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report. Whenever politicians, especially ones running for an office, experienced a bump in poll numbers after being on his show, Colbert would take credit for it by saying that they received the Colbert Bump. While this claim began as part of Colbert's larger-than-life political pundit persona (he would also claim responsibility whenever authors' books did well or musicians' songs do well), the phrase would be adopted in media, and be subsequently carried over to Colbert's later show The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.'
There are also a few wiki entries on it from the fandom wiki to the general one. James H. Fowler apparently conducted a study on it as well. He found a correlation between politicians appearing on the show and a temporary boost in their campaign contributions. I can't access the full publication without a subscription though.
As God as my witness, I've never wanted a piece of fudge more in my entire life!! I am going to gift buy some fudge to my cousins right now. That was cutest segment ever. p.s. I still watch every single full clip, especially always the band! I love the band.
