3 things to break zone defense:
1. Hight post passer
2. Baseline cut for dunker
3. 3 point shooting
Just having a 3 point shooter honestly destroys the zone

Probably the best video on beating a zone defense loved it! Highly conceptual!
Great Video to demonstrate how to break down the zone
Excellent content 🔥
Perfect content!❤️
Nice breakdown
Great video
Muy buen video!
Nice content
Best video about zone offense!
Appreciate it!! 💪 💪 💪
It really useful for my juniors
So helpful clip...
Thanks a lot...
Good material
Very informative
There are more including alternating the three mentioned above as I learned from my High School JV Coach Terence Saulney out of New Orleans La. The defensive mistake is usually revealed in the passing Transition from one side of the court to the other. Its like fishing in a barrel.
This is a good video
Thank You!! 💪 💪
informative ..newbie here
Exelent!
💪 💪 💪
Thank you
Watching because you can apply this to 2k as well
6:04 that's so Sneaky 😂
Attack, retreat
Passes to cutter
😂
High post to basseline cut isn’t that just a back door?
Yep, many NBA players so used to playing Man to Man, they actually are really poor at Zone. The first few clips, there were defenders not moving to help, and instead defending empty space.
Still gotta apply ball pressure in zone that's the point
Looks like Iannis did have an offense system in MTA after all
This examples are great against a team, which does not know zone defense. Mostly, we saw 2 3 defense, which was the wrong setup against that offense.
Good coaches teach it different and teams can switch anytime in a different form.
My opinion is zone defenses are popular because of the collective low ball IQ of most players. It's easy to "teach" and players can stand around. No individual accountability for any specific player.
I love zone defenses personally but for it to work EVERYONE involved must do their job and really understand the game. Re-watch the vid and see how often basically the entire defense is watching the ball. That shouldn't happen.
Any flood/overload of any sector in a zone can cause cascading breakdowns in one or more other zones. Any competent offense should be able to punish such a defense. That's what allows intelligent QBs to "pick apart" a defense. There's always a whole somewhere.
A lot of these just look like bad defenses. Where you can't tell if they are in a 2-3, 3-2 or a 1-1-3. And some reason the baseline end player keeps getting beat baseline for no reason other than not paying attention.
Totally agree. First actions are example of terrible zone defense. Extremely passive defenders away from the ball.
Beating a zone defense with the first pass? Come on 😂
The irony of there being multiple Celtics clips here when they looked pitiful vs The Heat's zone....
Should be re-titled as "How to destroy a zone defense if you've got a team of professional players". Beating (and being in) a zone is a whole lot different when you've got to respect the NBA 3-point line, when you can chuck ally-oops or when you've got players like Jason Tatum hitting tough contested shots.
the way to counter ofense is stay behind them, its gonna work
song name?
You need commentary over this.
Lo que me hace gracia es que en NBA le llamáis a eso defender....
It's funny that Celtics were the first team in this video and just got demolished by a Zone.
2-1-2 zone?
So have Lebron on your team got it
Can someone show this to Joe Maz and the Celtics?
Ball movement. That simple.
Why is her name Tzuyu?
Shouldn't it be Tziyu or Tzeyu?
Can someone from Taiwan confirm whether her name is pronounced closer to Tzu or Tzi/Tze in her native language?

Watching some nba players attacking zone-D seems so unnatural.
If I was a NBA coach I would destroy teams and win at least 5 titles. Aamf I’m going to see if a nba team needs a coach
Sorry, novice on NBA here. Doesn't the 3 second rule apply? I see a lot of defenders stationed for more than three seconds inside the paint. Have I understood the rule incorrectly?
3 second only during offense…. That too if you receive ball after being inside for 3sec
Yes there is def 3 seconds, but if they exit and re enter it’s fine, also if they are close to the person they are guarding it’s fine
Give up the free throw line. Just let them practice free throw shots. Protect the rebound.
HIGH LOW action. There's the simple answer
this shows how defence in Europe is way tougher
Cuz there is no defensive 3 sec lol
Zone defense is for poor defenders
Our U14 girls can play better zone defense than what you see these NBA teams playing. All they want to do is play inside out for the 3 point shot. Not reality for most younger teams.
los americnos no saben defender la zona.
embarrassing defensive positions
Totally agree
If we consider that 90% of the video are from NBA that is well known for its "strong" defense and the fact that in NBA there is the stupid three second rule in defense....I would not consider this video as representative of how to attack strong zone defense.
These zone defenses aren't actually proper zone defense.
The defense is only as good as the people executing it. It irritates me seeing an entire team watching the ball. This is what opens up all the cuts.
Nba defense = 0... use european teams instead 😢
First example (Lakers VS Utah), that's not a defense. Stoped watching there
cool video but annoying music
