I did a dexa scan last week and it turns out over the past 15 months I put on over 30lbs of muscle and only went up .1% bf. If I had to pinpoint why one of the biggest changes I made was learning to read my bloodwork and realized I had insulin resistance. Once that was fixed it allowed me to actually fuel my training. I also got rid of all the exercises that weren't truly targeting the muscles I was trying to hit and finally got prescribed peptides.

Trt is the way to go. Put my dad on a relatively generous dose, 175mg week, and he is stronger, leaner, and more energetic than he was at 67, 10 years ago. That is with TRT and just an active lifestyle in the garden, no actual training.
Training is good, training with generous TRT is better. If you could only choose one, at your age, choose TRT, it has a larger impact. Without the hormonal support, it is very hard to get results.

Vigorous steve is using it as a natty and it seems like it should be the first thing people try, but at 50 would have to make sure your test levels good too. It does make you have to pay attention to eating as blood sugars can get a little low if you don't and it's not expensive since you don't need much. As little as 100 mcg shot bilaterally seems to help. Think Steve using 250 to 500. 500 would get expensive.

When I do progressive overload 10-12 reps I get pump but growth is much slower as fatigue and lack of power comes sooner than the lactic burn and satisfying pain 😅

Being natural you will not be able to gain this much muscle in a year but if you watch previous videos you can definitely use the information being provided to build more muscle. Depending on training and nutrition the more you optimise both, the more muscle you will gain. Getting your daily protein, carbs and fat plus the timing of your nutrition will help immensely accompanied with optimal rep ranges and weight helps a lot too. Of course gear and peptides are amazing but aren’t feasible for everyone and tbh it’s harder and more worth it being natural.

Based on my knowledge TRT is a grey area term played around with especially in USA. Most people who are on TRT have played around with PED’s in the past and tanked their natural testosterone. The people that have tanked their testosterone take TRT at a level that will bring their testosterone to a level much than some at the same age with natural testosterone. Peptides are also grey area as it’s something you are taking exogenously. Everything has a medical basis but is it necessary in day to day life? No. But that’s a life choice. In my opinion if someone can take testosterone to change gender then why can’t you to optimise health and happiness?

Ryan--huge fan here, with a quick question: In your video you seem to suggest that you fixed your insulin resistance by increasing the amount of carbs you were eating, however, in the same breath, you also said that when you ate carbs, you looked worse. I'm a bit confused here. Are you suggesting that the problem was not the carbs you were eating, but rather, that you weren't eating enough? Also, if I'm aiming for a body recompense (I'm 14% body fat per dexa, and can stand to lose another 10 lbs of fat), and I'm, therefore in a slight deficit (as you've recommended in previous videos), is the idea to slowly increase carbs while decreasing fat? And at what point should I consider stopping? IE 10% fat, 5% fat? Thanks again for all of the work you do.
