- "Junk Your Stuff" - Tags From Packaging Part 1
While creating the "Junk Your Stuff" Paper Bag Journals I used up a lot of stuff but wound up with a boat load of packaging. I cut the packaging into tag shapes of various sizes and started making tags using more of my stash. This will be a several parts series because I have so many tags to make and a lot of stuff to use up. I hope you enjoy and get some ideas. Thank you for watching. :-)

I LOVE YOUR JUNK TAGS. I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK AND TALK IT OUT. LOVE USING OLD STAMPS AND RIBBONS.
Thanks so much Joyce. :-) I have a long way to go in using up my stuff but it's fun. I've been working my way through my ribbons too. Are you talking about old stamps like stamps you mail letters with or stamps you stamp images with? Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
This is a great video for using up our stuff! I don't know HOW I missed seeing it before this! Thanks!
Thanks Gail. I'm glad you found it now. :-)
What a great way to use up packaging! They turned out real cute.
Thanks JoEllen :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Great ideas! I never would have made my tags that large. But I love it and will try some now!!
Thanks Dawn. :-) I hope you enjoy making them. :-)
Lovely tags. Some look like they could be bookmarks. An Inspiration for my future crafting.
Thanks Maxine. :-) They would make great bookmarks. Bookmarks will be coming in future videos. :-) Thank you for watching and I appreciate the comment. :-)
also the dress form is ...wow! it makes me very happy🤗!
Thanks again Sherri :-)
Love the tags. I'm glad you're using your stuff in such a creative way and not just throwing it away. Lots of inspiration there. Your ThomasCrown story is hilarious. I lost count of packages but I know it was a bunch. You know we love you and yes I could watch you five hours. Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks Carol. Awwww....you are just so kind. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
So much fun. It will never end. But we don't really want it to now do we? Tee hee!
Thanks Adrine :-) Nope...we sure don't. :-) Thank you for watching and leaving a note. I appreciate it. :-)
LOL, Bailee talking. We do that ALL THE TIME with our purr baby & he says some very funny things too. Love you junking your stuff.
Oh Lyn....if only you could hear the conversations we have with Baylee and what her part of the conversation is. It's hilarious. lol Thanks so much and thank you for watching. I appreciate it. :-)
Nice tags! Good job! One way of using scraps!👌😀
Thanks so much Loretta :-)

Great use of packaging!
Thanks Sherry :-)
Now I know what to do with the cards I save every year! thanks for a great idea!! :)
Thanks Denise. Oh yes...you can use up your cards for awesome things. Make a journal from them, tags, use dies on them and make flowers....whatever your mind can think of. :-) Thank you for watching. I appreciate it. :-)
Love your video and tags, and what you are doing with this series of using your stash. very inspiring! And i love that you talk thru the video instead of setting it to music that is always so much louder than the voices. Thank you for your time!
Thank you. :-) I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I appreciate your comment and thank you for watching. :-)
It's like the never ending story, huh? You finish stuff, gain packaging, make more stuff, get more packaging! : )
I've been trying to junk my stuff and to me it's very hard to slap things together. I'm working on it but like you said it's hard to get behind something and get excited when it's not something you really like.
You are doing great, with the biking too! I'm impressed.
Oh boy Lottie....so true...never, ever ending. lol Exactly....I have stuff that I haven't used for a reason. I waited so long to use it I'm not thrilled about it anymore. I am feeling more excited about some old stuff now though because I see it can be used and at least be halfway cute. lol And thank you on the biking. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Great recycle video Laurie!!
Thanks so much. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)

Great ideas for packaging tags. Love your video. All the tags I've bought over the years and I could have been recycling and making my own tags. Ok - on a Christmas - recycling tag making marathon. lol
lol Oh boy....marathon here you come. lol Have fun!!! Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Wonderful ideas. I soooo need to do this with my own overrun supplies
Thanks Donna. :-) I'm on a mission. lol Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I am new to junk journaling & you made it look so easy to make tags. Now I just have to find stickers etc to decorate with.
Hi Rayna. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. The key to making it look easy is just going for it knowing you can change it at any time. :-) You can use magazine images, computer images from places that offer free images, junk mail, all kinds of things. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous tags!!!!
Thanks so much. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Great idea. I have been reforming greeting cards that I have got in 42 years of my life in Japan. I was keeping all of them because I just couldn't throw them away. Because I am not young I decided to throw away many things that would be trash for my son when I die. But it is hard for me to throw away things that I got. So I decided to keep only cards from close relatives and reform others to cards. I enjoy reforming them. You gave me another idea. Thank you. That is a real scrapbooking. I have hundreds sheets of new paper but I enjoy most when I make albums covers from tiny leftovers.
Hi Marjana :-) I think what you are doing with your cards is wonderful. And I am sure you have many beautiful cards to work with. I would have trouble getting rid of them too. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Cute Tags....Thanks for Sharing...Dar
Thanks Dar. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Those came out great!! I kinda kick myself for throwing away packaging and not repurposing it when I see you make these tags. I love them!!!
Thank you Misty. Don't kick yourself. There is more packaging to be had I am sure. lol You can use food packaging too if you use anything that comes in a box. I appreciate your comment and thank you for watching. :-)
I save food boxes.....like cereal boxes to make tags. These aer great ideas. Thank you
Hi Connie :-) Yes, great items for tags or journal covers. I use boxes for my Box Art Series. I love small boxes. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
These are lovely!! My favorite is the Perfection with 2 blue flowers and one pink. That one just looks so delicate and beautiful.
Thanks so much. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it. :-)
lovely packaging tags.
love how easy and simple you made the tags.
Thanks so much Mayra :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
How would I go about getting a pattern of your tags? Not sure I'm talented enough to cut them out free handed but would love to make them myself!!!!
Hi Sylisa. I'm so sorry but I don't have patterns for my tags. Most of them are cut free hand and there are so many sizes. None of them are perfect either. I did take a shipping manilla tag for other tags I made and used it as a template to trace around so if you have one of those you can use it. Also, there are many free patterns for tags you can print from the internet. Just Google "free tags to print". Here is a link to one site I found for you. I hope this helps. I know you can do this. Just try and the more you do it the easier it gets. :-) www.thespruce.com/six-free-gift-tag-templates-2906137?
Beautiful tags. I'm always looking at reusing packaging. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Michelle :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Love your packaging! 😜🌺❤️💗
Thanks so much. And, thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
New subbie. Where have you been all my life. I stress so much over tags, everything has to be coordinated,,, Thank you for showing ME that it doesn't have to be that way.
Hi there. :-) Welcome to my channel. Thank you for subscribing. I'm so glad you are finding your way to a more stress free way of creating. Thanks so much for watching. Have fun creating. :-)
Had to laugh - I spotted so many items I have in my stash too. Bought so many pre-made embellishments in the beginning. Have had some for several years and never even unwrapped! Thanks for so many great ideas. Love your commentary too.
Thanks Cheryl :-) Hope you do some unwrapping. :-) Thank you for watching, :-)
I lost count because I'm concentrating on your process and humor so much. I'll have to rewatch and try again. TFS !
lol I lost count too Patricia. :-) Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Hello Laurie! Love your junk your stuff videos!! Great tags and loved the challenge of counting the word packaging! It took me a couple days to watch the whole video so I have lost track after about 6.... Ah well, waiting patiently for part two!!
Thanks so much Tanya. :-) lol I lost count of how many times I said it too. I need to go back and figure it out. lol Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)

Thank you and you are so welcome. :-) I appreciate your comment and thank you for watching. :-)
Wow these are very kool 😊 love them! Thankyou
Thanks Sharon :-)
Really great ideas. I'm starting to collect the packaging. You are not helping me beat my hoarding tendencies! LOL! I was good at throwing away stuff like packaging, now I have a use for it! Sigh. :)
Thanks Ella. :-) Oh gosh...I'm so sorry about the hoarding thing. lol Just don't keep ALL of it. Keep enough to create with then start saving again. If you start keeping everything it will overwhelm you and we'll have to come dig you out. lol Thank you for watching and I appreciate the comment. :-)
So cute. You did great!!
Thanks Nancy :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
love it.. have a huge bunch of these ready for repurposing. tfs...
Thanks Vani. I hope you make yours soon and have just as much fun as I did. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)

Laurie, you are so talented, I love how you just go for it, I wish I was more like that. Beautiful tags. My granddaughter and I have spent hours of time in our junk bags. She is just amazing me with color, material, ribbon etc. At 5 years I am loving her fun, not worrying about being perfect. Thank you so much, for the idea, now we will do tags. Love Roxy
Hi Roxy. I wasn't always that way. I think desperation drove me to it. lol I think you learn with time to play more. :-) I'm so glad to hear you are having fun with your granddaughter...that is so special!!! We all need to create like a 5 year old sometimes. They have so much fun. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Can't wait for part#2

I enjoyed your video so much! What a great way to use all that packaging we collect. (I counted 26 times). Your ideas for your tags have inspired me to turn mine into book marks. I can take them down to my local library as a little giveaway during National Library Week.
Uh oh....you didn't sign your name and I know it's not Grace but I can't remember what it is...I am so sorry. I need to see it a bunch of times to remember it. Forgive me. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and that's a wonderful thing to do for your library. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)

Hi Laurie, was watching you early in the morningmake the tags out of Packaging. Iost count at about 28 LoL. I Love how they came out so cute. Enjoyed the story about Thomas Crown. I heard some snoring checked to see if it was my husband then laughed when I realized it was Baylee. I always enjoy watching you create and junk you stuff. Will try making the tags for sure.😊
lol Thanks for trying to count...I lost track too...I know I said it a lot. How could I not? lol I'm glad you enjoyed it. Oh yes....Baylee snores in most videos. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
I really liked it a lot, such great ideas for a lot of packaging I have. Thank you for sharing
Thanks so much. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
So pretty and creative!!!!!
Thank you Pam. :-) Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
I adore the direction the take flight tag went! Tho I liked the washi pattern, I wasn't crazy about the original look before you gesso'd. Once you started altering your altered tag, my creative juices started flowing. I'm fairly new to mixed media, but really really want to learn. This video sure helped that growth. I was imagining what I could do with a few of the tags that you said and stenciling came to mind. As well as decoupage with scraps. Thank you for this!
Thanks so much. I wasn't crazy about the look of the tag either. lol I thought it might be a good idea to go further with it showing how it can transform. And I kept it basic...you can really go as far as you want. Oh yes...it's amazing what you can do with scraps. One of my favorite things to do is create pages with scraps. I have a playlist called "All Because Of Scraps". I'm glad you felt inspired and I was able to help in a small way. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it. :-)
I love it!
Thanks so much and thank you for watching. :-)
