Him : "Here's how you can find your career"
Me : Wow, thanks man.
Him : *"Write down your 25 achievements"*
Me : Yeah, well, bye.
indeed
Literally. I thought he only said 5 at first and I was struggling 😭
He lost me at write down and then completely lost me at 25 achievements
This was the very first thing which came to my mind when I heard that: Does he really think most people have 25 noteworthy achievements?
Lol moving out of my mom's place would totally be in my top 7 😄
And many of the other 25 would just be related to me learning to function as an adult and overcome my social anxiety.
This one time, I slept a whole night and woke up feeling refreshed, greatest accomplishment of my life.
So jealous.
Please share your secrets to success 🙌
HOW?
It doesn't matter if i sleep for 4 or 12 hours
I always wake up feeling dead
Any job that doesn't require long hours and night shifts is your future
@@spltorky agreed. Because 1 sleep cycle is roughly 1.5 hrs so you don't want a harsh alarm disrupting your cycle and making you feel groggy
I Rickrolled like 200 people, as well as my entire class back in high school, but I highly doubt there's a degree for Trolling.
Lol 😂😂😂😂😂
.
a youtuber
Comedian would be closest. 🤷♀️ So there actually would be a degree in the direction theatre for it.
I mean playing an invisible guitar and speaking half German all the time sorta fills the quota
My Friend and i rickrolled about 800 people at our school. We asked the principal to set the bell sound to never gonna give you up and rickrolled the entire school
Bro, I have not even 10 accomplishments in my life xD
Bruh same
Yeahhhh
That's why is Harvard not u lol
This is completely useless....people in Howard would be making carrier already, they need no councelling and people who do need councelling are supposed to count 25 achievements to make timed decision when they are around 14-17....they don't even know what they liked....just did it and forgot it.... moreover 7 stories about 1 achievement...how could you get that many EXAMPLE I participated in singing competition... practiced a song and won a gold medal....how am I supposed to get 7 stories our of that

Dude my greatest achievement was not getting a nicotine addiction in highschool
@@imbalance9186 lots of people in my family are addicted to cigarettes, vapes and actual drugs so I see what effect it has on a person and I've never had the inclination to try
@@the_weeb_killing_king same but more tame. Came to the conclusion that any type of addiction is so harmful that it isn't worth the experience.
@@BossuJmek2k18 if only more people would realize it
@Khaliil bin Ammar no just not being trashy and seeing how much damage it can do first hand. Never touched any drugs or cigarettes or vape or anything but my lungs are still messed up through secondhand smoke. People dont realize it but it affects more than just themselves
Well done tho 👏 . Keep that up
Honestly can’t think of 7 positive memories I would use, let alone 25 to narrow down from
Same, I have zero accomplishments. I have positive memories, but they're just highlights from socializing. I do exactly what society does, get great grades and a job and go to college, but I have nothing at all
@Khaliil bin Ammar very few things and only occasionally
Accomplishment can be something mundane aswell. No one expects you to list large businesses deals, awards and diplomats, it’s supposed to make you think what you do well, even if only in everyday life.
@@ksander_9712 definitely agree, i think finding something that pays well is far less important to me than finding something that makes me proud to be accomplished at while being a benefit to the people around me
Exactly
I feel like I’m getting scammed every time people say Harvard.
Lmao
Same
😂
Guys it may not be "accomplishments" where you received accolades or what others would even see as "important". Just moments where you felt personally fulfilled.
But I cant play video games and socialize, crack jokes for a living (Im way to bad at videogames or not charismatic enough for a career as a YT) . I sadly dont have an intrest that is realisticly monetizable I still searching it its pretty frustrating.
@@BaxsStudios If you're bad at videogames you can still post shorts (CZcams and TikTok) and slowly move to longer videos, and see if people like them. Just starting is also a big step
@@BaxsStudios try out stuff man. If you're good at thinking, you could try out reading and writing. Or you could learn programming and make your own games if you're interested in them. See what your interests are and find out every possible way to monetize them. There must be something .
Personal fulfillment? Never heard of it.
@@Vader4499 In this day and age it is nearly impossible to start a successful youtube/twitch channel, let alone make money from it. Most of the streaming platforms are garbage nowadays and don't allow you to even show much personality. Another thing is, the market is oversaturated beyond reasonable amounts, so the chance for HIM specifically to be a youtuber is close to none. c:
Dude, even if I did have that many accomplishments I can’t even remember them properly
That's why it's something they use in Harvard. There is a reason why this isn't used any where else 😅

that's your career path. Survival. congratulations
@@ohmyumbrella finally somebody who knows what i should do
Well, write out which obstacles you had to overcome to still be here.
25 achievements. Best I can do is about 3, my dude. Then I remembered this was for Harvard students who probably had more extracurricular activities in high school than I've had my entire life.
Accomplishments are personal… not what the world thinks to be something great.
@@joysmith6148exactly
More extracurricular activities than my school provided in my case. They only took best student for their school representation in any event.
My accomplishments are normal things that people do, like if I woke up on time, or I actually do something that day, or I stopped procrastinating in that one piece of school work that’s been sitting on my desk all day, in conclusion I still don’t know what to do when I’m older :,)
Life coach , for sure 👍🏼
If you don’t know what you want, go with the opposite of what you hate. I hated talking to other people so I went with the opposite of marketing and sales that i could think of, which is something related to tech. Took up computer science and still happy with my software engineering job to this day.
😂 helped a lot because I'm an introvert too
Self-Introspection is the key. Funny how that’s what it always comes down to.
introspection is looking into the self anyway no?

You could just remove the self part, btw
Well, I figured out I don't want to be a writer.

Wait there's followers on Reddit?
Although I'm not sure I want to follower or any followers (I really don't like it in real life when people follow me. They seem to think I know where I'm going )
I have 7. So those are my top 7 accomplishments right there
I don't have reddit but once I had 1k followers on twitter being a fandom account. Those were the days lol.

You're sweet, thank you❤️
25?? I can’t even remember 2

The only bad thing is that people will despise my existence
Not that they don’t already it’s not that bad of an idea
I had a feeling no one would relate to this video. Accomplishments done when young are often not significant and this method makes people more of a by product of their environment growing up. (What they had access to and what their parents liked and forced upon them). Minors are often unequipped to gauge what their accomplishments really are and often do not have the perspective to do any meaningful self analysis.
Agreed. It’s taken me years to look back on my childhood and see that places I thought I failed I actually broke even, or things I thought were awesome were pretty ordinary.
I heard "If you don't know which Korea to choose."
I was like, who the hell gonna be choosing North Korea?
The fact that I love music donesn't mean that it guarantees a well paid job
I’ll offer you a little piece of wisdom I’ve gotten from a musician friend of mine. He told my band “if you want to do music for the rest of your life but you have a backup plan, you’re going to end up using the backup plan. You should love music enough to where you don’t have a backup plan because you’re willing to risk whatever you’ve got and more to pursue it.” That’s just a little something that’s stuck with me ever since he said it, so if you’re looking into a music career, I hope it helps. Even if you’re a roadie or more on the production or management side of things rather than performing, you’re still in a music-type career, and that’s farther than most people get
@@oaklengallagher-armstrong7164 that’s not a good advice
@@oaklengallagher-armstrong7164 that's the straight road to catastrophe. You always need back up plans. My friend works at the office and sings as a wedding singer on the weekend. She is still happy in her life. For 2 years now due to pandemic there was hardly any jobs for her as singer. Imagine how happy she is now she had this back up plan ready running. I work at the office and this is my main plan. If things go bad I can always be a cleaning lady or a nanny for rich people. Actually this plan B was so bad that it's now plan C because I managed to buy a property for renting out so I could live off the rent. Be always prepared because life can hit really hard.
@@oaklengallagher-armstrong7164 no offence but i personally feel like thats bad advice-
@@oaklengallagher-armstrong7164 this is romanticized advice and you shouldn't write these things for people you don't know... People shouldn't risk their entire lives like that.
I actually just sat and did this and all top 7 had to do with singing. Most of the 7 paragraphs mentioned how I felt reaffirmed through that particular accomplishment since I'm usually riddled with self-doubt and a lack of confidence. It's been over a decade since I've done anything serious with music and I have this fear that I've missed the boat. I don't want to go back to school ($$$$$), but I don't know how to get out there or what to do.
You don’t necessarily need to get a job singing, you could just prioritize singing in your free time (joining a choir group or singing to elderly people, recording music and posting it online, etc). It’s nice if you can also make money on your passions, but it’s not the end all be all- it’s also important to have hobbies and a fulfilling personal life. Don’t think you can’t cultivate your skills and passions even if it’s not your day job!
Your comment describes exactly how i feel , missing the boat and not knowing what to do , it feels like I don't belong in the field that I am in
Start practicing again at home, then CZcams & tik tok first , tiktokers especially have helped many in the music field connect with people who can catapult them.
100% agree with Ollie. I know a nurse practitioner who teaches ballroom dance on cruise ships during her vacations. LOVES it, but prefers the nursing salary.☺

...and broccoli.
Are u alive?
If you guys couldnt think of 25 achievements in your life this is a good sign that right now it's more important to focus on your own development as a person than to focus on your career development
"write your acomplisents...."
me: adios
"now write down 25 accomplishment you were really happy with-"
🗿
I guess I would reach 25 by my retirement
Him: Write 25 achievements
Me: how very bold of you to assume I have achieved so many things
My biggest accomplishments are when I troll the english teacher by using words she'd never heard of before in my homework, and when i do it in class I just love to stare at the confused looks of everyone.
Translating
This is Gold. 🏆
The very most important accomplishments in my life are connected with me finding myself and becoming a better verson of myself through hard work. The career question is still open
“Then keep the top 7” homie I can’t even think of 7
People who have 25 achievements probably would not have problems with career choices
Seven stories to career clarity - sounds like a game-changer!
Him: You just kinda stop at 7, and throw away the rest.
Me: *that has not accomplished anything* -_-
Me: finding hard to find one acomplishment in my life.
I like drawing and during my childhood I watched cartoons to mentally escape from the bad stuff going on around me, and I’m actually going to college for animation so I can help other kids going through a similar childhood
That’s so cute, good luck
Thats awesome!! I wish you luck on your journey.
Remember, the accomplishment's can be really small ones too. Those are still valid.
What If there are no accomplishments? 🥲
When you don’t have any accomplishments in life:
Well I guess I’m not going to college!
Him : Write down 25 accomplishments
Me : Finds even the smallest accomplishments i can find to make up 25
Him : Now strike out everything but the top 7
Me : f*** y** 😂
Mine would be writing a play that was published and acted out on stage for an audience. Publishing poetry. Finishing an internship working in a high school with youth in difficulty. And becoming a mom. Being a mom was the most fulfilling for me. So I dropped my dream of becoming a writer and took a job in a high school.
I made my list of 25 and circled my top 7 without reordering them.
My accomplishments aren’t anything too crazy. I put “tried out for basketball in 10th grade” and even though I didn’t make it, I tended to have a lot of social anxiety at the time so even trying out was an accomplishment.
Some of what I wrote down was just stuff I felt could count as my own personal accomplishments (like completing sketchbooks because usually they get abandoned).
Bold of you to assume I have so many accomplishments :)
This is sort of future authoring program. And like Jordan says, we need to aim low. So look at those little little achievements in your life and jot them down.
my words were prove, work, accomplishment, recognition, people, hard, athlete/athletic
Asking me to write down 25 accomplishments in MY life. Very bold of you sir
Well it will be great if i wasnt lazy to write all those essays 😂
Eh, I doubt this would help you find a field that's not already a big part of your life. If you put so much time into something that it covers your top 7 then that's a no-brainer. Also it seems that knowing the purpose of the exercise spoils the aspect of discovering which words you used in common. This seems better suited for something a teacher might do in class, not telling the students until the end that is about career or degree choice.
Absolutely true👌

hmm, the only achievements i can think of were things like getting good scores on exams
so idk lol
Same. Highest sat score in the school once, but not even a 1500, which some elite schools get on average, or close enough. So pretty much nothing
@@cjgreen4331 woah, that's so good!!
him: write down 25 acoplishments then rank them
me: ok *writes down my five acomplishments that i didnt enjoy whatsoever cause i was forced to do them* now what?
What are your hobbies?
The word "the" recurred so many times in my essay
Step one: Have accomplishments
Pff bold of you to assume I have 25 achievement in my life
I’ve always wanted to study medicine, but my achievements were nearly all music or art related…now is this a sign to switch career plans 😩
Or you can combine both, I'm pretty sure there is something out there like that, just search up careers that has medicine and art combined
Certain fields in neuroscience and the behavioural sciences can combine art and medicine and there is research being done about this in these fields. One I can think of is clinical psychology and neuropsychology where you can do research, be a clinician, and also get to train in certain therapies that incorporate art like art-therapy, drama-therapy and music therapy. Psychiatrists can also be trained in these therapies and can do this research.
There's also biomedical engineering, being a prosthetist and many other careers that combine art and medicine.
You could also be a medical practitioner and do your art and music stuff as a second career, or do it in the side or as a hobby. You could be a medical practioner and a medical illustrator or an illustrator. There are many medical practitioners that have written books, have CZcams channels or anything else creative. Some are medical practitioners that have gone into the film and television industry. So don't worry.
1 problem with this, is if you have a particular career that you've been thinking about, you're going to bias your answers towards favoring that career path. If you're aware of these biases, and account for it, you might not end up with conclusive results
I can think of accomplishments and things I enjoy, that was never the problem. The problem was how to successfully monetize them
If you don't know which Korea to choose: yeah I'll choose the north one
Tf people at Harvard doing, I can't even think of 2 accomplishments much less 25

This is really good. Thank you!
1. In 4th grade i ranked 6th in class and i wasn't a good study body but it motivated me so i was consistent with my homeworks and gradually ranked up and I'm 1st ever then and many times without even putting much effort
2. In college i was the 1st student to get full rank while i was praying not to fail as i didn't study hard as i all my colleagues were doing
3. In 1st semester of college i was anxious that i would definitely fail so I started praying then i got a call from my friend that i was the top student in my batch
4. In 5th grade i did some gymnastic moves that our couch was trying hard to teach us and i remember i was the 1st who mastered it, also i remember our couch is just focusing on few students basically because they go for contests, students around me called her to see me i think it was her 1st time that she saw me, she actually stopped everyone and told them to look at me, it was very huge space and students from different classes where there
5. In 6th grade I did pretty well in basketball and same couch gave me so much attention and used to call for me to play with 11th and 12th grader who are actually participate in national competition, i was so good at making 3 points 😂 so the couch used to beg me to participate in sport club but i didn't because she was known to take teams for many competitions and the idea of missing classes wasn't good for me.
6. Right after graduation i get to do 2 part time jobs, started master degree, started residency and national service and all were in different places except master and national service were in the same institute
7. I got a prestigious scholarship but sadly my parents were against me traveling alone
8. I'm highly dependent person and i think it's one of my biggest achievements that i know my responsibilities
9. I used to teach my classmates and i was happy about those times, i spent time with them more than i spent with my family
10. I participated in a student conference with a new topic and i remember one of the well known professors who attended was very interested in the topic i was presenting and told me very encouraging words
11. In college we do annual exhibition, I don't know why but somehow i was elected to supervise one of the sections, and by the end of the exhibition our sector won the 1st place of how organized and informative it was, also other sectors would leave thier places and stay with us as of how teamwork we had and the worm vibes
12.
