i have the same issue and fuck it don't work unfortunately and it's because the application does a weird close and reopen after matches so all you can do is unplug and plug in your headphones everytime that happens

i have also just discovered if your audio drivers don't work properly fortnite audio just doesn't work for you if you have headphones plugged in
