José is a genius. He knows all there's to know about the game. But I don't like it when he tries to script the narrative of past events in his press conferences. United didn't "fight for a result" against Arsenal. They took their foot off the pedal after going down 2-0. I remember turning off the TV in disgust ten minutes after 2-0, knowing we weren't going to score in the game.

Definitely agree with you. I couldn't stomach the performance. I don't think they took their foot off the pedal. They just knew that they realistically wouldn't score more than 2 to beat Arsenal without conceding. Wins are only thing that matters at that stage of the season. They were poor before that but I can understand why. This is still not Jose's team. Its all good and well for fans to cry and moan about us not playing attacking football but we tried this against Man City were completely ripped apart. That's not the way to go with our current players. Next season I would say is easier to criticise Jose for the tactics he's put in place.
If you play Rooney, Fellaini, Carrick and Smalling. I think Ajax can win the match easily.
