Very essential conversation! Glad you touch on families and their role in marriage. It is unfortunate that the same families who are supposed to build become the master destructors! I implore men and women who intend to marry to be enlightened about the role their own family members can potentially play in the demise of their nucleus family; to be empowered to approach the various scenarios; and maintain a united front against that evil spirit. It's critical for the survival of marriages otherwise it's perpetual suffering for one or both parties. We need wholesome marriages; these holes must be closed not to interfere with your vision as a family. The envy, jealousy, malice and hatred is real!

My cousins and her younger sister are a result of her father cheating on his wife with her mother. The father has children with his wife both older and younder than my cousins, and there is absolutely no relationship between the children (my cousins and their father's children in the marriage). There's a poor efforts of relation between the father and his daughters (my cousins). It's really a sad situation and wish people can realize the all-round hurt that comes with consequences of cheating.

I'm going through a challenge in my relationship where he claimed to be a victim when we met. Now me being a warm, honest, supportive person I made him feel good about himself and now his thinking he has arrived cause that's the power I have I am able to make you feel important and worthy someone forgets that we are leaving on earth. This is made worse because he just received sweet money and this is blinding him, the rest is unfolding cause his still feeling himself and I'm hurting by his conduct which his not intrested to see. I love him, however I know it won't be sweet for him anymore once I decide not to participate in his madness, mind you his 14yrs older when he wakes up it will be too late.

I love listening tp conversations on relationships (of any kind), because I believe that life happens in the context of community; and as a human who desires to get married one day, I especially appreciate hearing different perspectives on marriage, so I found this Ep to be particularly interesting. I do however feel like Mister Mavimbela didn't quite get into the reason why men (or women for that matter) cheat, unless that flew over my head (will re-watch). I'm gonna conclude that there really isn't a valid reason for cheating (in my opinion).
This was quite informative. Realtionships/Marriage is hard work. Over and above the things that were discussed here, I think discernment is so pivotal in finding the right mate, and building that solid foundation spoken of in the episode.

Mr Mashabela, I listen to your podcasts, they are quire informative I must say. The conversation held here is a summary of a book, same with the likes of Kelebogile and the ex cop. I think it is about time that when you interview a person about their book like you have done with Mpiyakhe Mavimbela, at least drop us a link in the description as to how we can get the books. With Kelebogile, I looked for her book on takealot, and it was because of the interview you had with her that I knew about the book, on her website, I really struggled getting the book to a point that I gave up. Same with Mpiyakhe, I am rushing on takealot to get the book, but I cannot find it. Meaning I cannot continue this conversation by way of his book. Please do insert the link to either their website or any platform available for us to order the books. It is merely a suggestion Ntate.

he could be telling the absolute truth, depending on the significance of the marriage in the ancestral realm, continued delays can make them stagnant or even escalate to abuse and weird behavioural patterns... it's very real, but depends on ur family roots and other spiritual factors.. Not all people have these issues though, abanye just Sail through with no issues, there's no urgency or any deeper spiritual significance to ther unions...

This person is probably telling the truth. Remember that these things are also discussed during lobola negotiations, so if the white wedding was agreed to in the agreement, it has to be honoured because we know amadlozi are there during the negotiations. So yes it happens but is not applicable to everyone.
