@@Ragnar452guess its pretty common thing in gw2 then? when you are unlucky to like non meta class, when in one class you need to do perfect rotation and be punished for mistakes and having other drawbacks while on other you just need to press 1 button, have great sustain and does 2% less damage than former.
@@adrianmikulski6845 If you are min max obsessed, ele is better. There is everything for everybody. So yeah it's normal to have viable casual classes that won't get you kicked out of groups. If you don't, you should not complain about the population dropping constantly or getting 10 wipes per boss in most raids.
As a reaper main there is nothing more peaceful and relaxing than going into shroud and doing cool stuff

Well, I started GW2 as an Elementalist (later Alac Tempest) and I got really exhausted by playing piano all the time so I wanted to try the Necromancer after a long pause of the game. They're two different worlds. It's the first time I felt inner peace... Now I'm chilling in my Shroud, lying in lava and don't care about anything because I'm a Reaper lol.

So so true! Back during launch however, Engineers have several missing abilities and one of those was Stability. So while other people were able to just run around staying stable all day, we couldn't even finish certain jump puzzles because they hadn't yet added teleport to friend yet!

My roommate actually doesn't play elementalist for this very reason and when he would watch me play Weaver when it came out I told him I felt like I was playing the piano at high speeds constantly. Like I feel like if I didn't have all that finger strength training from doing chords and scales in piano for warm-ups there's no way. 😂 But I told him it become second nature like once you get it down it becomes second nature to stance dance. He even gave me his old gaming keyboard. Like thing, it's like a keyboard design for one hand and that surprisingly made it harder but I still got down to using it. It was pretty awesome. I don't think I could go back and do that anymore. They should really rethink elementalist or leave it for the people who won't have arthritis when they get older. I like mesmere a lot granted you or not dancing as hard, but you're definitely spamming shatters as a virtuoso. I play it as a self buffing power virtual so a build of my own creating and I love it. I have never did a DPS check on it, but I've been able to sell out all of the content I've done so far because I can give myself all the bones I could desire outside of a clarity and keep the uptime on. These booms really high because I am using berserker stats with concentration on my weapons and trinkets and due to some trait passes I can reach almost 100% Boone duration. I think I get to like the 90. Definitely permanent up time on. Might vulnerability fury and swiftness. Oh and protection and regeneration. It's just incredibly fun. I'm rambling now because now I want to go home and play. Oh I also realized I can stack permanent quickness on myself though through summoning fantasm's I when I shatter I'm giving boons to everybody around me. So I'm giving these bones to my fantasms just for them to give them all right back to me
LMAO been ele main for 10 years, sick and tired of struggle just now switched to Reaper. HAVING A BLAST.

I bough Azeron Cyborg just so I could play Elementalist instead of having to need 4 arms to reach all keys I want to press 😂
Jokes aside, having 5 buttons inches away from each finger makes it 10 times easier to play all Elementalist builds. My layout is following:
Pull for Element.
Push for Utilities.
Press for Weapon skills.
Left of pinkie is Auto-Attack.
Right of Index finger is Elite.
Thump is used for Movement
Dodge and Jump are on m mouse becausue it felt the best.
It was actually quite natural.
Downsides?
YES!
Warrior, Renegade and other professions that weapon swap have to lift index finger to weapon swap and pull with pinkie to F1. It feels weird but I decided to get used to that so I don't have to learn multiple layouts as I play them all. If you main 1 class you should set keys for that. Because caffinated dad mains Elementalist, I shared my Elementalist Layout for him ;)

As a Ele main who then took a break for 5 years, came back to play and made a scourge main, then a year later, a reaper main through some existing berserker gear and template build, I love the ease of play so much and will only play scourge now when I have harriers gear lol
This reminded me of my old hierophant build with totems in POE, it does a lot of damage and the gameplay is passive and the only skill buttons were to summon the totems 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly at this rate I would take a less active build. I'm sweating my ass off with high apms

I'm on my necro (eod elite) lately, and it's similar to reaper in regard to how often I have to press my buttons, since most of my skills are condition aoe ground targets. Lots of damage, and no getting my fingers twisted. The craziness of the elemental is why I rarely play on my ele. I die more on my ele than I ever have on my necro.
The necromancer Is also at the benefit of the death shroud! But yes the ele requires a crazy dance to play just right!

It's just stupid how much harder my Reaper hits than my Catalyst or Weaver lol. And if it wasn't for my Razer Naga MMO mouse, I would have gave up on Ele very quickly rofl.

I had this in PVP, I was fighting against a deadeye, hitting about 10 keys a second. And there was me on my bladesworn using 1 thought a minute.
Actually recently started playing a celestial catalyst and its not hard to play as it looks at first and pretty survivable too with the right build and utilites.
Man I must do something wrong...Reaper player here, also play piano and do no damage. ^^

Practicing opener combo atm with GS + Staff, this can feel like piano sometimes....but mostly I spam staff only -> shroud and is also fine. ^^

Im actually working on making a Willbender right now because I don’t feel like I am learning the game as well as I should be playing Reaper. I’ve been playing less than a week and had a 25 kill 0 death arena earlier. Decided I should probably play a couple other classes so I’m not just getting hard carried by class.
Reaper is very strong in many different ways, recently was buffed and it never has come down lol
I’m starting to get the hang of multiple classes now. I still jump on my Reaper some because let’s be honest it’s really fun to play but Willbender and Soul beasts burst potential is so high. I’m really glad I branched out. Just finished unlocking daredevil on my thief as well. The amount of hours I’ve already put into this game is beyond degen.
Scrapper mains were also forced into that Piano rotation right now, if they want to keep quickness up for their group. 😞
yeah, i liked moving alac/quick to shatters/phantasms on mesmer from wells/shield but moving quickness from gyros to leap/blast combos looks weird. now my guild nodes gathering looks like freak show with jumping

5 yrs elementalist main here. constatly switching weaver zerker, condi weaver, alac heal tempest and i am soooooo shocked how easy it is to play power reaper. like i could be brain dead and still dish out more damage than my perfectly timed rotations on weaver or tempest. uggggh😅

The scourge elite spec for necro is actually more complex if that helps :)
It's easier to be sure but there is a rotation and some minor decision making
I like the fact that necros are more situational with all the utilities and less of pressing buttons like crazy.

Reaper in wvw is so tanky, so much death in a zerg that the enter shroud on lethal strike damage constantly saving their ass

i started playing this week, some people said they dont use WASD to move, just the mouse... im using pistols and daggers, i cant imagine using only mouse cuz its like press W and hope for the best, or am i dumb? cuz i feel i need to move backwards all the time
They might just be crazy LOL, i suggest looking into a movement guide if your lost. free camera, a keybind for "about face". To limit yourself with mouse movements solely sounds insane, ig for pve it doesn't rly matter, but since your new, practicing good habits will benefit you greatly

@jonathanfrederickschiller3032 necromancer is easy, warrior isn't bad as it's very straight forward. The have higher toughness (reduces incoming on hit damage) than other classes and does offer a bit of self healing through tactics mainly
