Im a dealer and usually dont expect a tip after a chopped pot. if it happens cool but not necessary. Before i was a dealer myself, I played a pot where I got it in bad and ended up drawing to a chop and the guy i was up against told me "You better tip the dealer huge for that save!" because villian was also a dealer.. didnt wanna tip when i didnt actually win anything but felt obligated to throw a couple bucks to the dealer after that comment was made

considered it but ultimately i don't think it's worth it. i would have to sell a bunch of action anyway, then buy flights and accom, be away from my partner and daughter. all to prob make a similar amount (on my own action) playing online mtts

Absolutely not. Tipping culture is crazy in the US. Why should I subsidize the labor cost of the billionaire who owns the casino?
My rules for tipping dealers:
0-$50 pot- no tip
$50-100 pot- $1 tip
Over$100 pot-$2 tip
Dealers are making $15 an hour plus tips near me. Good dealers deal around 30 hands per hour. $1 or $2 per hand in tips brings in roughly $30-60 per hour. $45-$75 total per hour seems more than fair for a dealer. That's more than a lot of school teachers make but nobody thinks of tipping them.
i wouldn't stiff neighborhood cardrooms where the dealers only work off tips. for casinos (hourly employees), i wouldn't of tipped that scenario but would of if i got one of the boards and was behind (unless there was a decent amount of dead money you guys chopped). if he had aces and we split, i would throw out a redbird for the save.
