there will never be another pianist like Alicia de Larrocha...
She was superb. I had the honor of seeing her play in the early 80's - unforgettable
Simply wonderful!
Sublime pianista !!!
Her playing was, is stunning, mesmerizing! Maravillosa Alicia de Larrocha!
Una interpretación que emociona!
Wonderful
First time I hear piano sounding like guitar. Never thought this is possible. Magnificent. Hurray for the Spanish.
She was magnificent. This is the way the piano was meant to sing.
amazing performance
bravo alicia!
Magnífico!!!
Who else in the world could make the piano sound like a guitar?
Gracias, Alicia.
Beautiful lady, beautiful music
With most "Andalucian" music (Southern/Moorish Spain), the pianist must know how to make the "pianoforte" sound like a "guitar"...Very few pianists are able to project this unique sound. Alicia de Larrocha - out of the "Enrique Granados" piano school tradition, was the best exponent of this technique in modern times. Granados as well emphasized the advantages of using the pedal properly.
Grande!
No words for my hero Isaac Albéniz?
She is my grandma!
Bravo A superb sound
Wow! Beautiful! Thank you for posting!
Great music
A treasure !
¡Que maravilla!
I love the melody. Y'amo esto canto.
This woman was simply wonderful, a brilliant pianist with the most deft of touches. I have just "discovered" her a couple of days ago (where have I been??) and am completely mesmerised by her.
+Richard Joslin Better late than never - enjoy!
Thanks, Pete, I shall!
Me too!!!
Don't feel so bad...I just discovered her, and I am from Spain...I now have to wonder if I have been asleep all this time...hehehehe...Greetings from the USA
I didn't know this wonderful pianist..thanks so much for posting
yes! Thank you!
I've never heard anyone play the De Falla piece better than Alicia..she was capable of the touch of a butterfly..
+M Donald Frampton Are you perchance related to the great guitarist Peter Frampton? I am a big fan of his.
+Richard Joslin. I normally tell people he is my father but as I am knocking the door on 80 that would be questionable.. I'm hoping some day someone will ask him the same question of me... My !! Frampton is Reverend Ralph Frampton c 1660 check google..
Perhaps the finest pianist of the 1950s - 1990s. I had the pleasure of hearing her in concert several times. Her touch and body of sound were unique. And she was not only a great musician of Spanish music, but also Bach, Haydn, Schumann, Chopin ans so on. Thanks to Fans of Alicia de Larrocha for this. Do you have more for us, please.
It's the best performance of this masterpiece I ever heard. Brava!
BRAVA!
Magnifique!
She shows amazing accuracy in those treacherous jumps in the first piece...but a tremendous performance overall...
Helfgott adorait...
Ta pani gra przepięknie, czuje tą muzykę
It's a bit of an exaggeration to say that she could make the piano sound like a guitar...no she couldn't...a piano is a piano...a guitar is a guitar...but she was beyond phenomenal...
Dwoje geniusze muzyki
Alicia is gone! What a loss!
Marvelous. Too bad about the pitch waver..I don't suppose there's any way to fix it.
Great moustache.
!
I think I'll make a song based off of this one day.
I was seriously confused at the beginning. I was thinking, 'Where's the piano? This sounds like a guitar???'
Sh! Don't comment 😂
No, przepraszam, dwoje geniuszów
Ya want a guitar? Then get a guitar.
