- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2012 Chevrolet Traverse LT. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this crossover while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this crossover designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
For this being the second highest trim level for the Traverse, I would have to say it's pretty nice. One of my uncles has an Equinox LTZ; it's pretty similar to this, with the only difference being that it has the wood paneling. I must say, Chevrolet has made leaps and bounds in terms of their quality over these last couple years.
I've always wanted this vehicle and never got to own one. Its one of my favorite vehicles besides the Lincoln Town Car.
That's the ONLY in-dash storage compartment with a release that isn't completely counter-intuitive. Well done, GM.
yes! very. i have a 2010 .i have pulled a 7000 trailer from L.A. 4 times.never had a problem.it ia a monster on the freeway.awesome for long road trips.i traded in 2 toyotas for mine i love it the 2 wheel drive is awesome on gas.now i have 111.000miles on mine and NO problems.test drive one you will love it..
@corvetteboy10 Actually you can. Yes, it needs to be locked to use the remote start, but you can use the remote to then unlock the car once it is running. When you get in the car, you just have to put the key in the ignition and turn it-- not all the way though. The car turns off after about 10 minutes using the remote start, so if you get to the car before that time, you dont need to turn the car off in order to start it again and drive away.
@VegetaXFinalFlash I believe all the trims have an aux port at least so yes. You need the connect package for the USB. Bluetooth is standard as of 2012 as well.

Yes they do. They seats also recline, and go forward and aft. and they have the smart slide functionality

@rml695 The Traverse was just released in 2009, so it really isn't that old. However the Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia have been out since 2007, and the Buick Enclave has been out since 2008-- and all of them are essentially the same as the Traverse. Auto manufacturers tend to go 5-7 years before any major redesign. It can go longer (or shorter) though depending on many factors.

This is a nice family car. Pretty safe! (2012 standards)
Grandfather has one but his is a dark purple. It's a very nice ride.
They placed the blind spot mirrors in the wrong spot. You see more of the blind spot if they are located in the inner part of the mirror.
are you sure thats not the LTZ? I thought the LTZ trim level is better than the LT trim level
It is a strange feeling to admit publicly that the Chevy Traverse is in many ways a design which is pleasant to look at, and it is even more so surprising, because I'm not otherwise enamored with the crossover segment. Still, an unbiased observer has to notice that GM at the end made major strides both in its design work and product quality. Alas all is not well, since GM does no longer provide a domestic price advantage to its long suffering NA customers.
PS I love this colour-combination.

actually Saturn was defunct in October 31, 2010. They were nice cars, especially the 2008-2010s
I saw the engine "segment" and wondered how hard it would be to replace a battery or do general repairs to these vehicles. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too much fun.

LS is the basic trim so of course there is not going to be any options on it, you have to get a LT or LTZ to get the options you want.
@MrGarryMurphy96 Remote start is more of a feature to warm your car up in the winter and cool it down in the summer.... Not really to start it up and go. As you may have noticed, he locked and set the alarm before he started it. Hence, you can't really drive it.

My wife had a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx and the only good thing was the strong 3.5L V6. Everything else fell apart. Real POS car. We'll never buy another. Great review tho, Kyle!!
This car has Bluetooth and XM Satellite Radio. The 2013 has been redesigned, I suggest that if you're buying new, that you check out the redesigned 13'

I really like the exterior color, my Toyota Camry has a very similar shade of red.

Acadia looks better than the Traverse, since they are like the same Crossover, I would choose the Fully loaded Silver Acadia Denali and call it a day.

+Saabklye04 you failed to mention one very important thing about the cargo space of this vehicle. You showed that the 3rd row folds down flat but you failed to show that the 2nd row captains chairs ALSO fold down flat giving the SUV more cargo space that anything in it's class. That a big selling point to this vehicle.
I have a 2011 model that looks just like this (except for the interior leather which is dark grey) and I absolutely love it.

@mitchman2100 yeah that's what they like to do. GM would design one vehicle in a segment and just throw a different badge on it across all brands. That's part of the reason why Oldsmobile, Saturn, and Pontiac got killed.

Enclave is a platform mate to the Traverse and Acadia, so it's not a copy cat but very closely related, i thought everyone knew Chevy, Buick, Cadillac and GMC were the same company?

@Captainskier I just figured that every Remote Start was the same but I guess they may not be Lol.
