I just use an elgato capture card and OBS for recording/streaming

@@Feileacan you know the funny part was it works really well for a little while and I was happy with it but it overheated. I felt how hot it was getting and then one day it just stopped working. I ended up getting the elgato HD60s+ which has not let me down. And I actually thinks it makes some of the games look amazing through that capture card.
I already bought a cheap capture card, but this is cool for others to start on youtube
Would a USB splitter affect the quality? My laptop only has one USB 3.0 port and I would need a second one for a mic.

I usually capture direct from my switch with its built in capture feature, thatâs how I done my PokĂ©mon Arceus Review and it came out perfect! But unfortunately not all games are supported with video capture

Thanks for this tutorial. Iâve been buying equipment to start doing this. I purchased the other known capture card but this one is much cheaper. The only decision I am struggling with is trying to decide what gaming laptop to purchase. Nothing over $1,500.00. Any suggestions?
So just to be clear, using this device means that a tv or second monitor isn't needed to provide the best of little to no latency for streaming like how others videos say that you need. With this device you get that latency free quality with just the switch and your pc, is that correct? I am new to streaming and want to stream my switch gameplay to twitch so I want to verify if I need to invest in a second monitor or not.

It works, but do you have to look through obs to see the display?
I see that it works on the switch, Xbox and PlayStation consoles, do you know if it also works with the Wii, Wii U, etc.?

I got a ElGato 60s + and I try using OBS The OBS interface is not that simple to use to me, because I try recording footage on my switch at this point I give up I literally only stream off my Xbox series X because itâs way more simpler I just go to Twitch

Zach please!!!! I am doing this research to help my daughter with her new channel. Will this hook up the same way to a PS5? She has a smaller capture card with good results for the Switch but we can't get the audio worked out when connecting to the PS5. We either get game play audio and no mic or mic and no game play audio. HELP!!!

Nope bc it doesn't have an output to cast your screen like the reg switches does. Only way is to use a camera and do it that way. Nah.

I have the elgato and itâs just okay. Can be touchy and laggy so I ended up not streaming abs just got frustrated. Iâm going to check this new one out and see if it performs better đ€

nope
Unfortunately not since the Lite has no ability to output HDMI or to a TV. The Normal Switch has the dock which isnât compatible with the Lite :/

My only question right now; is this compatible with Macs? I know windows based computers are ideal for a lot, but atm Iâm stuck with my MacBook Pro, which as far as I know might barely work. Thoughts?
It doesnt, the only capturecard that works on MacOS is ElGato HD60S+, the PLUS one, not the regular one. Iâve been recording with it smoothly on my mac.
