Excellent presentation as usual Simon - we’re all a lot wiser 😎 thanks
Thanks Simon, fascinating stuff as always👏👏👏👏👏
Moto gp is not only a sport it is a dream for everyone ❤️
Yes bro. 😰
Yeah fellow indian. It's a need for me . Kinda like a drug 😂
MotoGP is a declining sport with BSB now having more viewers.when Rossi’s decline happened MotoGP died.and you all no this so does Dorna .as for moto e? It’s embarrassing for the racing world.kid yourselves as it won’t last.there’s a reason the internal combustion engine has survived so long…
This was great it’s everything you would want to know about motoE
Electric motorcycles are still in their infancy but there is so much potential in them. (see what I did there?)
I got a chance to take a quick ride on a prototype Zero SR/F electric bike and almost fell off the back when I whacked it open. 140 pound feet of torque is a lot for any bike, from a standstill it is mind bending. Acceleration through about 80mph is fantastic but it could really use another gear after that. All that torque would be unridable on the street w/o traction control. The MotoE bikes have even more torque an no TC so I give full respect to those willing to flog one around a course at race speed.
Whether you want one or not it is well worth riding one of the full power Zero or Energica e-bikes just to see what it's about. They are all heavy and all insanely overpowered. It's a different experience
EDIT: Forgot to mention that when I got back from that test ride I pulled out my wallet and immediately ordered one. Has been fun and trouble free.
I always enjoy these tech talks. Straight forward, manufacturer agnostic and to the point. Thank you
Mr Crafar is a total asset with credibility and integrity. Thank you.
He was as fast as anyone back in his riding days too😉
@@CaptainScarlet1961 Still not slow! Would love to do a Motovudu session with him.
Never had any interest in electric bikes (Big V-twin fan) but I still really enjoyed this one. Cheers Simon.
Not that keen on the ebikes, but I'd listen to Simon explain anything.
yeah, he is so eager to tell us what he knows. Good learner and definitely a good teacher.
The future of racing right here. Not long before they’re faster than the MotoGP bikes. Exciting stuff!
One day they will be faster, but I don't think they need to be and their much heavier than MOTO GP bikes and tbh theirs nothing exciting about it.
It's not the future of racing. Future of road transport though
Possibly the greatest motorcycle journalist ever
Wow Simon, this is amazing! Most of uch do not know much at all about these electric bikes. Would love to hear even more!
Finally a mask that fits well. Great job as always Simon👍👍
I think a lot of the lack of excitement comes from no competition, not their electric nature. Energica is the only manufacturer in the series, which means no manufacturer drama. Once there's other factory teams competing, there will be more of that racing drama we all love.
That's partially true. A lot of sports out there have homologated their engines, and cars, with only two or even one manufacturer. The competition arises from the rider/driver and team skills then generate the competition, as they all arise from an even playing field, which generates the excitement.
Great Job Simon! Very Professional and fascinating stuff!
Thanks to u Simon as always for giving us much more knowledge about these hearty machines👍
Lonely
2023 rewatching this. Thanks, Simon Crafar!
Thank you for this video 🙂
Wa great sir. Good technology as well as u r explained very well.
Motogp is not complete without Simon Crafar
Top job !
I love Simon explanation very professional.
welcome to all🥳
welcome to all
Couldn't help noticing..Nice Breitling watch you have there.
You didn't mention a very important technical detail, that a MotoE weights 100 kg more than a MotoGP... +100 kg!!
Wtf how is that possible
The sound is what throws me off, or lack of. Love the bikes. Makes me think of the OG Tron cycles.
Thanks Simon.
Thanks so much Simon! Quick question though - does the engine braking occur through "recharging" back to the battery or is the re-generated power dumped across a resistor?
woow perfect race bike
Really glad to see the MotoE bikes and wish the class got more coverage! Great video Simon!😁
I build ebikes for fun and this is so facinating to watch. If only I could some how harness this tech for my self in a cheaper fashion😅😅
Thanks Simon
Your tick tock videos are gem😉😉😉
Why did you stop the onboard lap with s1000rr ?
Give Simon a raise Maaate 😁✌️
I love these. Thank you MotoGP!
How many miles can the bike go in 1 full charge?
The more things change, more stays the same!
I also didn't want my electric bike ride to end...
So I bought it. Zero DSR💌
The 2nd time watching...
Simon is so knowledgeable!
Notes:
Actually the motorbike doesn't have instant torque from 0 rpm because it would have wheelspin of the line.
oh yess simon you Googled it we all do, though grt explanation!
Gotta love these tiktoks
😂😂😂
Is Moto E shown on TV in India?
No
I'd love to see a comparison on a track between e-bike and MotoGP bike.
Wiil they ever lap at the same time of a Moto GP? Great job Simon.
No
Feeling electrifying 🔥😂
My question is what is the clutch lever for? Is it independent brake lever for left side front disc? Looks like a hydraulic unit..
Cool
Vr46💪🔥
How efficient is the big diesel generator in the back of the pits that charges the batteries 😁
Not really relevant is it? Road stuff don't get their charge from diesel generators
ohh this is simon
Did Simon say tik tok or tech talk at the end?
No clutch?? What is the lever on the left bar? Rear brake?

what is the weight of these bikes?

I miss Dylan Gray !
Omg yes! But have to admit, Simon is also amazing! Imagine both on one tech show 🤯😂
He only talked about the good things, okay that's fine. We should focus more on the charging & battery innovation more. 7 minutes charging for going 1 lap (around 4 kilometres)? That's still really bad. Not to mention the weight of the bike, it's heavier than a 1000 cc bike. So, there 2 big problems of moto e: charging time + weight.
“Undress her to see her private parts”
I see what you did there Simon!
Wish they would have shown someone riding it and exploding off the line! All that for-play and then nothing 😂
Hey Simon, love the vids but can we move away from the basic stuff here and get a bit more technical. This was a bit like saying a petrol engine needs oil and then it has a filter to keep it clean and then you change the oil.
Simon: the correct term is "motor", not "electric engine".
And what powers the juice rolls? Coal power plants. What a load of bullcrap.
This was so sexy how he did it
No offense
E bike is just E bike 🙊
Get used to it, it's here to stay!
So instead of using a diesel generator that everyone sees they charge up a big battery bank before they come that is charged up by coal or nuclear powered stations that everyone sees......right. got it. How do the bikes get to the track? Diesel trucks and lots of them that travel a very long way to get there. Right. got it.
Do moto e bikes...have foot brakes?
字幕をwッ‼(T_T)ノシ
People are starting to put gears on them because it saves energy and the energy band does fall off :)
"Undress her, so we can see her private parts." Simon Crafar really loves technically talking about bikes.
1:06 ""AC electric engines are more efficient and more powerful""
Not true...DC motors are 30% more efficient
AC motors have more torque.
Petrol engines also do NOT lose 75% of energy through heat. Some of these facts are way off
I love Palestina 🇵🇸🇵🇸
People talk about using sustainable energy on one side and other side, use Fossil Fuel hungry machines for Entertainment. People will never stop using Patrol/Diesel as long as they can buy it easily.
Hey, Mumbles....there is no one around you! Might be safe to take the mask of so we can understand you.
Can't hear you with the mask on.
I know these things are the future but I bloody hate them. If it doesn't suck squeeze bang blow,, it ain't a proper motorcycle. Compared to a screamer 500 or even a factory superbike these things are soooooo yawn..
I'd hope they put subtitle, english subtitle is ok.
Because of his mask, some of his word not clear enough to me.
Well, sorry im not that good with english
If we move to ebikes in MotoGP I will stop watching it.
They're NOT the future!
He's running out of oxygen due to the mask.
Moto E sucks 🙏🙌
Screw electric bikes
Moto E 🤮🤮🤮

I would like to point out that you compare a high efficiency electric drivetrain to a shitty gasoline engine. older gasoline cars indeed have around 25% efficiency. But modern cars are have 35-40% efficiency and f1 engines have more than 50% efficiency. So high tech gasoline drivetrains have 50% efficiency and high tech electric 85%.
LOL is this guy for real? WTF
Meaning what exactly?
Crafar forgot to say that electric power already lost about 65 % efficiency before getting into the bike when it was generated in the oil ,gas or coal fed power plant ! Lol
