I have to tell you guys these are the best replicas I have seen even down to the dog bone risers on the Captain America. Fantastic work! Thanks for the video!
Sweet!!! Congrats from “Down Under”. Well executed too, & great to hear they’re actually ridden. Easy rider left an impression on so many of us. Thanks for sharing👍🏼😁
You guys did an Excellent job with these bikes. The details of both these bikes is really on Point. Ether one of these bikes could be in the movie no problem. I've seen many that have attempted these builds and don't ever come close.
Absolutely Excellent bikes, a true credit to the twins! I love the film and have seen it many times. I built a billybike chopper a couple of years ago, but it had a WLA side valve engine, looked nice though. Panheads RULE!
What meant to comment on is the beautiful job you did recreating these awesome iconic machines. They are gorgeous. Thats real dedication man.!!!!! Salute
Awesome bikes , And great detail also . Thx for the video . :) I myself like to ride a cruiser style myself but always love the art work that goes into a bike and older cars & trucks . The new stuff is all over priced Tupperware cars & trucks with a pop can like feel .
Nice job on both bikes man. I rode a 48 Flat head 21 years then built a 93inch shovel chop on an amen saviour frame with a 10over wide gluide. I love and always been pretty much on hard tails love them again nice job ride free brother. Nick.
These are really nice.Fantastic job.I,m 60 and ride a 1963 pan I have been on it sense 1985.I,ve had others through the years but always came back to the old pan. My first was a 47 knuckle.1975 Then went in the Army in1976.My dad sold it.He was not a fan of me riding Have a nice day.
i remember a few years back. Peter Fonda was at Barrett Jackson Auctioning both the America n the Billy bike repros he had done. As a pair. He lifted the reserve. An some lucky guy got both bikes for just $23,000! what a steal.
Very cool rides. Good job. I have a mostly stock 2013 Wide Glide that looks a lot like the Billy Bike, flames and all. Not a hard tail though. I'll take the two shocks on the Dyna over back jarring rides on a hard tail any day. Peace.
Love the bikes and the music but I'd rather hear the bikes than the guitar. Maybe that's just me. I'm 72 and been riding since I was 14 when I got a ride on a guys 47 Indian with a hardtail and a springer. Sweet ride. The last bike I built had a Finch custom frame and 15 over springer front end which was painted candy apple red and had a fiberglass Sportster tank. My back would not take riding a hard ass bike any more. Thanks for sharing.
Doug Fever I'm 72 yrs old as well & I'm still riding my father's 1938 EL Knucklehead , 1955 FL Panhead and his 1970 Shovel ,I don't ride the Panhead too much because it's too funky to start but I ride the knuckle all the time ,I've got my own bikes thst I've bought in my lifetime in the collection but the knuckle is my daily ride ,2 kick start every time .
If you guys still got these it would be awesome to see an updated video with a bit more quality and you guys going in depth on the bikes explaining stuff. Knowing its been 13 years since you posted this a lot can happen in that time. If yall are still around and the bikes are still around it would be awesome to see them again.
BEAUTIFUL! even the oilbox & hard lines leak city but you definitely kept as close to O, the 2 others i've seen up close had oil filters, front breaks or course & 1 had rear disc the other had drum & a front rake set up to help steering handling. Kind like a porsche turbo 911, ferrari T, & this I would love to ride um just once, like that model I saw when I was in Ukraine, that was a bit easier just hand the money over.
The Wild Ones, Easy Rider, Then Came Bronson, The Three Stooges ( scenes where they were chased by motorcycle cops) and a friend of my dads who rode a 1967 Moto Guzzi V7. Also Steve Mc Queen in The Great Escape and On Any Sunday. Been riding for 52 years now. Got 3 in the garage and shopping for an EVO this spring.
Fonda's original had a 5.00 x 16 Beck rear tire. A "wildcat" tail light was on Fonda's bike. The original gas tanks were re-worked Mustang scooter tanks. Jim Leonard built the most accurate replicas. Still, this is great work by the Sundels!
Back in the late 70's I sold a bobber and bought a chopper that was the same style as Capt. America and the paint job as a Billy Bike. I used to ride those hard tails all around the country and I don't remember the pain. Now I am 66 years old and even with suspension the thing kills me. Ick old age. My wife rode across WA. state with me and she was crying from the position of her rear on the 2nd up part of the seat. I wish I could build a classic and ride it all day again.
well done guys i just herd the last remaining of the 4 bikes made has been sold it was the parts bike and may ride again . if only fonda and hopper new back then when they built these bikes ,they would have kept them , i have been searching the history looking for them but know leads to follow , but well done ,,,,,,,,,,,
Beautiful tribute bikes to the movie , it is a shame you couldn't find the little skull lights that were used as lower marker lights on both the movie machines , great job on both bikes none the less , thanks for posting .
Jim Leonard built the best ER replica machines. I met Jim at a vintage car (Packard) meet a long time ago. He told me that locating all of the correct parts was the most difficult part of the job. Incidentally, the rear tires on the original bikes were 5.00 X 16 Beck-Arnley (British).
Sugar Bear is a good and talented man who has his place in American motorcycle history to be sure. But, he did not build either the 'Capt. America' or 'Billy' bike. That would be Ben Hardy, who coincidently, was for many years a mentor of Sugar Bear. The History of Choppers by Jesse James, available on CZcams, tells the story.
back in the '60's & early '70's. we always built choppers without the front brake. I think the front brake law { California} came out in '69. bikes built after that date we used a wheel ass'y off an Honda 50....
I wish I had that bike!! Love the ridget suspension an the the American tear drop tank👍👍 if there was any pan head Harley I would get, it would be the Captain America bike!!
Joe Simon's daughter here..love the Captain America bike. My father would be proud.
I have to tell you guys these are the best replicas I have seen even down to the dog bone risers on the Captain America. Fantastic work! Thanks for the video!
Tastefully done and thoroughly described. Good down-to-earth descriptions of how choppers ride and sort of stop.
"Sort of stop" -- made me laugh pretty hard.
How come 64 people dont like this video. This man did an EXCELLENT JOB.
The Billy bikes is beautiful, both look superb. Good to see that they are ridden frequently, not squirrelled away somewhere
Sweet!!! Congrats from “Down Under”. Well executed too, & great to hear they’re actually ridden. Easy rider left an impression on so many of us. Thanks for sharing👍🏼😁
This is a great genuine discussion regarding these two iconic bikes.
You guys did an Excellent job with these bikes. The details of both these bikes is really on Point. Ether one of these bikes could be in the movie no problem. I've seen many that have attempted these builds and don't ever come close.
Amazing work. Thank you for sharing this!

You Guys have some real TALENT!!!!!! Thank You,Jack
I have great memories of coming back from the chrome shop with handfuls of shiny parts and living on beans for a month to pay for it all.
Nice. Interesting to hear about the difficulties in riding these hard-tails. RIP Cliff Vaughs and Ben Hardy!
What meant to comment on is the beautiful job you did recreating these awesome iconic machines.
They are gorgeous.
Thats real dedication man.!!!!!
Salute
2 fantastic looking bikes, well done guys..!!!!
GORGEOUS. Long life and health to you so you can continue to enjoy it. Thanks for sharing.

Super job on this bike build. This is one beautiful bike for sure. Just beautiful.
i'm not into bikes but the captain America chopper was something else to look at
The Billy bike is my kind of chopper. love the extended wide glide & flames. 4 of my bikes had flames inspired by that bike
Beautiful bikes !a couple of icons !
Awesome bikes , And great detail also . Thx for the video . :) I myself like to ride a cruiser style myself but always love the art work that goes into a bike and older cars & trucks . The new stuff is all over priced Tupperware cars & trucks with a pop can like feel .

Absolutely stunning!!!
Nice. I watch the movie every morning. I was a kid during those days. Thanks.
Pure Happines-thanx for this-)
Absolutely, beautiful bikes, love it!!! But if I was building it, I would have to put some suspension on it. wouldn’t want to break my back 😂
Right on, great build!!!
If you guys still got these it would be awesome to see an updated video with a bit more quality and you guys going in depth on the bikes explaining stuff. Knowing its been 13 years since you posted this a lot can happen in that time. If yall are still around and the bikes are still around it would be awesome to see them again.

I remember these bikes from the movie Easy Rider that was in my Grandpa's days of building Choppers.
Brett Koeshall I watched the movie at the drive-in. When it came out.

Un air de déjà-vu... Mais toujours aussi magnifiques!

Would love that Captain America! ...and someone to clean it regularly.
Love those Bikes
Beautiful !
Groovy man!
gorgeous, just been to harley davidson in shanghai, starting to get the bug...
I've always wanted to ride the captain america. That bike is so sick! I eventually wanna build my own.
Back in the late 70's I sold a bobber and bought a chopper that was the same style as Capt. America and the paint job as a Billy Bike. Nice machines, let's go for a ride.
The most beautiful bike for grandpa.
Beautiful tribute bikes to the movie , it is a shame you couldn't find the little skull lights that were used as lower marker lights on both the movie machines , great job on both bikes none the less , thanks for posting .
Too bad the original bike was stolen after the movie!
Pretty damn awesome.
Epic, epic bikes! Thanks so much for sharing. The sight made my day.
P.S. Are you guys slightly Irish?
Jim Leonard built the best ER replica machines. I met Jim at a vintage car (Packard) meet a long time ago. He told me that locating all of the correct parts was the most difficult part of the job. Incidentally, the rear tires on the original bikes were 5.00 X 16 Beck-Arnley (British).
the black guy build the captain america was "sugar bear" in LA. Nice work man ! thanks to share and everyone have a great day !

That would be Ben Hardy, who coincidently, was for many years a mentor of Sugar Bear. The History of Choppers by Jesse James, available on CZcams, tells the story.
Yes u right , was a mistake , the Builder was Ben Hardy and /Dan Haggerty , Cheers !
Ben hardy built the billy and Captain America
Cliff vaughn and ben hardy
but neither bike has the famous Sugar Bear front ends
back in the '60's & early '70's. we always built choppers without the front brake. I think the front brake law { California} came out in '69. bikes built after that date we used a wheel ass'y off an Honda 50....
This and Kenivels 750 jump bike would make my collection complete
I wish I had that bike!! Love the ridget suspension an the the American tear drop tank👍👍 if there was any pan head Harley I would get, it would be the Captain America bike!!
@washboardblues Coker tire was founded in 1958.
