As in how TAS works? It's a tool that slows down the game to about 1 frame per second, and I believe sometimes even more. Then they play the game normally, making sure to cut back as much time as possible. You can use save states in case you make a mistake. Using both slowed gameplay and save states you can make for a perfect run of a game, utilising hard to achieve glitches and all sorts of shortcuts. My favourite speedrun is of a Castlevania one, which was done in 22 seconds. xD

I wish the psx versions of the super famicom smt games were translated instead of the originals. The visual and audio upgrades are so nice.
Seeing the credits, it surprised me that Doi and Soejima where active at Atlus all way back when this was made.
If I remember correctly, they were both tutored by Kaneko :P

So I guess bosses are scaled depending on your level. That would probably explain why they went down so fast.
